ETA: also info learned from the admin of FindDylan Facebook is that the walk from dads house to friends WAS A 7 HOUR WALK...and someone still believes its possible this boy set out on foot, with all of his possessions he'd brought, along with a supposed fishing pole WITHOUT FIRST CALLING THE FRIENDS to see if their parents could give him a ride?...sorry jmo but there's no way in Hell-o that this is even a viable scenario at this point..jmo.

BBM: No way, Jose. No one in their right mind would make that kind of trek without calling someone to come and get them or wait for Dad to get home to take him there.

This is laughable. Those SAME friend said he was prone to hitchhike:

Dylan's friends in Bayfield told The Durango Herald that Dylan was supposed to meet them Sunday night but changed that to Monday morning. They told the newspaper they think Dylan hitchhiked to meet them and then was abducted.

Yes, if someone did walk 12+ miles from Vallecito to Bayfield it would take a while, but seriously? No. IMO.

Not eye candy to me. More like a Twizzler left over in the Halloween bucket no one wants to eat. Or a Banana Laffy Taffy. lol

But then, I'll admit to being a weird chick. I don't like chocolate, and I check the sports channels first. I like my men a little less metrosexual. Ha!

I fear that is because mom has been given certain information from LE :( and because dad already knows its pointless to plead to a nonexistent entity.

Just afraid of that, not accusing. The behaviors are baffling.
The person who said s/he was a relative of "the parents" also said the family hadn't been told much of anything either.

BBM what does that mean?
Was he moving? or am i reading it wrong?
I think he meant he was staying home in case Dylan showed up or called, or if there was anything LE needed from him. As opposed to running around posting fliers, searching, giving interviews and whatever everybody else is doing.

Maybe not anymore, but I know people did it when I was around his age. I had a friend who would hitchhike to another friend's house (about 8 miles away), and the two of them would hitchhike another 12+ miles to my house. During the summer it was almost every day. I'd usually help them try to find a ride home, some nights they'd sleep at my place.and sometimes one or both of them would hitchhike home (often at 2-3:00 am). Surprisingly, the worst thing that happened to either of them was that one met her (now ex) husband that way.

I think that one of the early interviews with friends, one of the friends said that Dylan had hitchhiked before?? So I think some people are thinking he took off walking, hoping to hitchhike, get cell service, whatever but probably NOT planning to walk all the way to friends house. IMO

The problem I have with the idea of him wanting to hitchhike, is yes he knows Bayfield and most everyone there, but this isn't Bayfield, it isn't were he grew up, and there for he really knows no one in this area, I find it hard to believe he would leave to hitch a ride in a area where he knows no one....if he was in Bayfield that would make more since....but he wasn't.

Don't be ridiculous. I briefly scan over the posts as I close them out to maximize the size of the pictures.

Do you know where Mark has lived since the divorce in 2007 and before mom up and left? DR is familiar with that whole area, IMO and people there know him. IMO.

Yep, I too have been a huge proponent of the theory of Dylan possibly setting out to walk..argued this possibility for quite some time as well as have objectively looked at ALL POSSIBILITIES away from the father and have proposed many of those possibilities and THOROUGHLY DISCUSSED those possibilities I've proposed.

It is my opinion at this point that Dylan did not set out and walk with all of his possessions that day..IMO not even set off walking until he was able to get a signal or hitch a ride..jmo..

The close family friend(close to both the father and mother) stated that IF the scenario was as dad says(ie.Dylan overslept)..IF THAT WERE TRUE that Dylan would have made contact with his friends..and would have asked if their parents could come pick him up.. HE DID NOT DO THESE THINGS(and my opinion is that the reason he DID NOT do these things HAS NOTHING AT ALL TO DO WITH CELL SERVICE) and his not doing these pertinent things IMO led me to believe Dylan never set out on foot with all of his possessions he'd brought on his trip and a fishing pole en route to his friends..nor in search of a cell signal or hitching a ride..

To add further credence to this not being a viable scenario at this point in time is that WE KNOW FOR A FACT that Dylan had in his possession not only his cell phone, but his cell phone charger..this important due to the fact that this further takes away from the possibility of Dylan setting out on foot and unable to contact friends due to no cell signal and was going to contact them once he reached on foot an area where his cell phone had a signal..

This was not necessary Dylan had his charger..therefor Dylan AT ALL TIMES regardless of cell signal or not and regardless of dead battery or not...DYLAN HAD FULL ACCESS TO HIS FRIENDS PHONE NUMBERS AND A PERFECTLY WORKING LANDLINE IN HIS FATHERS HOME..

Once again going back to the statement from those who know him best...IF THE SCENARIO WAS AS DAD SAYS..THAT DYLAN OVERSLEPT..DYLAN WOULD HAVE CONTACTED HIS FRIENDS AND WOULD HAVE ASKED IF THEIR PARENTS COULD GIVE HIM A RIDE...

a cell signal was NOT NEEDED for Dylan to accomplish making contact with his friends..

Another factor further cementing that in all likelihood Dylan never set out walking on foot that day with all his possessions and a fishing pole is the fact THAT NO ONE SAW DYLAN WALKING THE ONE AND ONLY ROUTE OUT OF HIS FATHERS AREA TO THE FRIENDS..at one point there were possibilities of valid sightings..THOSE HAVE SINCE BEEN DEBUNKED..THEREFOR NOONE SAW THIS CHILD WALKKNG ON FOOT THAT DAY..

IMO Dylan did not set out on foot that day.. At one point I looked at this as the most viable of possibilities.. IMO due to the facts we know its no longer a viable possibility..jmo, tho.

ETA: I just reread my post and want to say that this is in no way snarkily directed at you, deca..but rather just used your post as a jumping off point in thoroughly laying out my reasons for no longer believing he set out on foot..
