Not only that, but he also said he never even thought about looking for the pack until the Search Dog Team came and asked about it. So that makes it CLEAR that he did not look for it, according to the new version, until AFTER he went to town to look for him.

But that conflicts with what he originally said, about assuming D already went to town to see his friends.

Does anyone know when the Search Dog Team arrived?

You know, I agree. It's reached the point of absurdity and the rudeness is relentless. My Lord, we're now arguing over whether a day has 24 hours in it!

JMO

That confused me too until I realised there are a couple of days that don't really have 24 hours in them, ie spring forward and fall back days when an hour is gained and then an hour is lost.

When he got back at 11:30, his son's dirty cereal bowl was beside the sink. The television was on Nickelodeon. His son's fishing pole was gone. So was his black-and-gray backpack. A few articles of clothing were left behind on the couch.

"His priority was pretty much with his friends, so I wasn't alarmed," Mark said.

In hindsight, Mark wonders whether Dylan became impatient and hitchhiked. "I can't quite wrap my mind around that yet," he said.

Mark said he tried texting Dylan all afternoon in an area with spotty cellphone service. When he didn't hear anything back by late afternoon, he went to Dylan's friend's house in Vallecito. That friend said he had not heard from Dylan.

T: When did u first find out that --or is it true that all of dYlans clothing and his iPod are missing?

MR: well, to answer your question, with a yes or no answer, yes, thats true, but to clarify that, it wasn't till you know a short time that law enforcement was aware of what was going on and was involved and I know that they immediately browght in some dogs to start tracking ya know, his movement, and try to figure out the direction that he was headed, and the question was posed to me, is his backpack here? and I'm like well I don't know, let me go look for it because I ..that's not something that I was looking for…so you know it probably took ..I wanna say the first day maybe even two before it was determined that yes, his backpack was not here..my only concern was Dylan and what have we got to do to find him…and where is he...

And Mark also said in this interview that he assumed that Dylan was close by, out by the campground by the river, or playing on the rocks. So he decided to take a nap.

Can you see the differences ion these two versions? In the first one, he said he assumed D was off with his friends already, so he began texting him. In the 2nd version, he said he assumed D was nearby, playing around solo, so he took a nap.

I have no idea. That's why I asked the OP how they know that LE is still investigating Mark.

Why are you challenging me on this?

Sorry, I should have put a smiley face because I was joking.

UH OH....the link is messed up BBM

seriously is it a full moon? there appears to be an incredible amount of confusion happening

katy - You wanted me to compare the quotes from MR in the article, to the quote from the show w/Tricia

Quotes from article

"His priority was pretty much with his friends, so I wasn't alarmed," Mark said.

"I can't quite wrap my mind around that yet," he said.

Quote from show with Tricia

MR: well, to answer your question, with a yes or no answer, yes, thats true, but to clarify that, it wasn't till you know a short time that law enforcement was aware of what was going on and was involved and I know that they immediately browght in some dogs to start tracking ya know, his movement, and try to figure out the direction that he was headed, and the question was posed to me, is his backpack here? and I'm like well I don't know, let me go look for it because I ..that's not something that I was looking for…so you know it probably took ..I wanna say the first day maybe even two before it was determined that yes, his backpack was not here..my only concern was Dylan and what have we got to do to find him…and where is he?

And my comments:

In the first quote, MR is talking about why he wasn't alarmed, and that was because Dylan's priority is his friends.

In the 2nd quote, MR is talking about not being able to wrap his mind around "it" ("it" being, according to the reporter, whether Dylan would have become impatient and hitchiked).

In the 3rd quote, Tricia has asked when he found out that Dylan's clothes and ipod were missing.

MR responds by talking about how LE immediately brought in dogs, and someone asked about Dylan's backpack, and it was the first day maybe even two until it was realized Dylan's backpack was missing, and that his concern was finding Dylan and where was Dylan.

My comments

For me to determine if I see substantial, meaningful changes to the factual information a person gives when they talk about the same thing at different times, I need to compare what the person actually says at one time about that thing, to what the person actually says at a different time about that same thing.

Comparing what Mark actually said at 2 different times about 3 different things won't show anything to me. I would end up with the results of a comparison of apples to oranges to bananas to see what the differences are. The results would be expected, predictable, meaningless, and the exercise fruitless. (No pun intended.)

Ummm no, I don't see what you're talking about. I thought you said what you referred to as the 2nd version was the quote from Tricia, and I don't see him saying he assumed Dylan was nearby playing solo so he took a nap.

We're just unable to communicate on this, katy. I'm not interested in trying any longer. Sorry.

there IS a quote, but I have not transcribed that portion yet. Sorry, I thought you had listened to it.

Does anyone remember the name of the dog team, I will do a search? That will nail down when MR clued in to look for the back-pack, but we also have a link from the next day with Bender saying the back-pack is missing. I believe Bender of course, but curious when the dogs arrived.

That portion of the interview with Tricia has not been transcribed yet. But He DID say that in the interview. I guess Cheese does not remember that part.

Just catching up , stupid time difference !!

IMO the only reason why MR keeps changing his story is because he is lying . A honest person re-telling his version of events would not have such glaring inconsistencys in them :moo: :cow:

I am borderline thinking that for sure, but not willing to go that far yet...but I am not going to defend him in anyway.

I could be wrong don't get me wrong but he does make life difficult if he is innocent because the majority of innocent people would not behave like him MOO

Sniped by me.

I am very happy to see that your kids and you have the kind of relationship with Elaine's boys and Elaine that they came out to meet your grand baby. ((hugs))

Thanks, their relationship with EH is something that I treasure and foster. It's important that they stay connected.
