I'm not as certain on the first sentence in your post - I can see both keeping it quiet and making it public/involving media, etc.

I totally agree with the second paragraph of your post.

If they already have enough people for the search what would be the benefit of making it public? Not arguing with you at all, just wondering what the benefits could be?

IMO this case has caused a lot of crazies to come out of the woodwork on both sides. I can't imagine what could happen if many of them came together in person. Some IMO are less than mentally stable and could be dangerous. This is definitely a reason I could see for keeping it quiet.

I think this is so sad and many have forgotten that there is a young boy still missing and that should be the focus. Dylan needs to be found. That's the bottom line.

It's the fairly local crazies that need monitored...so many not normals are saying really bizarre things. And no one appears to even try to stop them. It's almost as if crazy is appreciated.

I hope that in light of the mediation and, hopefully, increased communication between the parents, that maybe Mark will not only participate in the June search but show much more visibility in searches and other efforts to find Dylan. IMO Mark has not done himself any favors in his lack of efforts, this could be a way for people to see him really making real efforts. IMO MOO

Well for once we agree! And it's going to be local's searching.

My hope (and I truly hope this) is Elaine and MR were able to at least come together regarding searching for Dylan. If they agree on nothing else, I hope they can at least do that. Bottom line is Dylan needs to be found. I will have much more respect for MR if he gets out there and searches for his son (camera's or not). It would be really nice to see them come together and do that. I don't know if it's possible but IMO MR needs to man up for his son and stop worrying about what others say and the he said/she said needs to stop. Do it for Dylan!! I just want this child found!!

My thoughts exactly! (we must have been typing at the same time lol)

IMO - it will be a little to late . He can't suddenly decide to turn over a new leaf when its been 6 months . The most important time in this case was at the beginning and he can never undo his behaviour back then !

Good point. I guess it's entirely up to him if he wants to walk the talk.

Well whichever way you put the "nap" time it makes him sound pretty pathetic IMO.

He is a grown man and by midday he needed a nap which over rode all his parental responsibility towards his son .

So awake at about 6am and nap time at 12. It makes me wonder if he was up later than he says :cow:

Possible the "nap" is an alibi time filler. This time slot 5-6 hours gives a lot of cover-up time.

And don't forget the Sunday night from 9:39pm and until Monday when he went into work . Nobody knows what went on during that time frame apart from MR !

It's possible that Dylan knows something. It's possible that an as yet unidentified person knows something too.

I'm all about keeping my options open.

Oh I believe Dylan knows what went on but I unfortunately believe he is no longer with us to tell us .

I only hold out hope in an odd but usual way, in some of these cases. I hope he ran away because it's the only way he would still be alive. Maybe the divorce, the move, the lack of access to his friends, all of it.....portland has a huge amt of street kids CA is an option as well. Did he ever have any drug use at all? Mom may not have known, even if he did. IMO, I'm asking because we need info. Who was Dylan? How contentious was the divorce and have the minutes from the divorce and custody been released in any way to the media?

Remember the case of Mary Beth Smith? For all accounts and purposes she appeared to have been killed, and was mia from a religious meeting/concert a huge event. Then mos later shows up on film pawning her wedding rings, alive. Finally she did a media show with her atty's where she was clearly living a new life. It's cases like hers that give me hope even when it's a teen that they could still be alive. Hope is hard to come by...even for me!

Dylan wasn't at a religious meeting/concert huge event--(and from all accounts never had been or was likely too) . He was on a court ordered visitation with his father up in the high country of CO.

ETA. LE has ruled out Dylan running away, and I don't think they'd make that statement lightly

Sorry i have no idea who that is. I only joined here because of the McStay case and then saw Dylan's thread and got sucked in. I hope that Dylan is with us and will be found but i have never been able to get past the complete blanket silence from Dylan from the Sunday night. I fear the worse as i can see no plausible reason why Dylan never contacted anybody on Monday if he was able to :cow:

BBM - just thinking of the publicity to keep Dylan's name out there. I think the public needs to be outraged that this hasn't been solved yet and that someone isn't being held accountable for this boy going missing. It's not like this happens so much in Colorado that we can be hardened or accustomed to it and brush it off. IMO

But I can see keeping it quiet too for all the reasons that have been mentioned so far.

I think it is VERY interesting that Elaine texted Tricia during the show, to tell her that LE told Mark in December, that the Mail lady was mistaken, and they knew who the boy was, and it was not Dylan.

I believe Elaine, and I don't think she would lie about something LE said, or it would be corrected by them. :cop: So that makes it seem very credible. JMO

I also find it interesting, but for other reasons. I recall during the interview that Tricia said she kept getting texts while she was talking to MR. When the text came in about the mail lady from ER, I was wondering if all the texts Tricia got were from ER. I was thinking Tricia didn't say anything about texts coming in while she was talking to ER. So, in my mind I think MR could have probably texted Tricia if he wanted to during ER's interview but didn't, he waited to "call in" after ER was done with her interview, yet ER kept "disrupting" MR's, and I didn't quite understand why? Could she not have called back after he was done with her questions with her clarifications or fact disputes? Even in public debate, one person talks while the other listens then the other is given the floor for rebuttal.

Was there not a set time for the interview so how could of Elaine called in at the end if there was no time ? ( if it was only a allotted amount of time given)

And MR rambles so much it is probably easier to keep track one answer at a time IMO . Also it gives him less time to backtrack or go off in a different direction .
