From the radio show:

Tricia-Elaine, are there any searches planned, coming up, anything we could perhaps publicize for to to help get searchers there?

EH-Uh, we do have some searches planned. We're um trying to get the specifics now. We, we go up, um, quite often as a family and hit the trails and, and the mountains and the lakes and whatever is the point of interest. We are working on a massive search that will happen in mid June but I just don't have the details of that yet.

BBM-

It's a MASSIVE search that she mentioned. And in response to a question about helping get searchers out there. I do hope details will be forthcoming.

But wouldn't they need civilian volunteers for a massive search? If they do need them, some notice would be nice to ensure the best possible turn out.

Was there not a set time for the interview so how could of Elaine called in at the end if there was no time ? ( if it was only a allotted amount of time given)

And MR rambles so much it is probably easier to keep track one answer at a time IMO . Also it gives him less time to backtrack or go off in a different direction .

:cow:

When I listen to interviews, I have a notebook handy so I can make notes of things I find interesting. I think that is what debaters do too. Take little notes so that when it is their turn they can make sure to focus on all their concerns. I can see MR having some issues or inputs on points ER made on the show, but as far as I can tell, don't know it for certain, he waited his turn. I just feel that ER could have probably called back in if she told Tricia she had some points she wanted to clarify. I mean Tricia was trying to conduct and interview and she probably had her own outline for doing it and interruption like that can throw it off track and could have made her miss points she wanted to cover. I don't know I am just rambling, and since Katy said that I did have a POV on it too that I just happened to note.

Lots of people ramble. That is not exclusive to MR.

They ran out of time for the show - one of Tricia's guests had to be rescheduled. If Mark had anything he wanted to debate or clarify that Elaine said, he knew he was coming up next. Elaine didn't have that.

I think Tricia was very fair in how she ran the show, and Elaine texting to comment wasn't unfair to me. Tricia takes calls and questions during the show anyway. She was just giving Elaine a way to respond to Mark, just as he had his opportunity to respond to her, since he came on after her.

Yeah, MR, ME, ER: Borrowed the part of the transcript Bayou posted. I think all people can ramble at times, especially when they are trying to explain something. LOL.

Could just be a personal thing to me. If I am kind enough to not interrupt you when you are talking, I would hope you would give me that same respect. I noticed the same thing happened on DP. The best interview I have seen with MR was a one on one with MB, prior to this interview, and yes I got annoyed a few times about the texts Tricia made comments about, then the mail lady question. Many of us are curious what he has to say since he doesn't talk that often and I am hungry for knowledge and want to know more. Has she said anywhere else, in any other interviews, that the mail lady sighting was ruled out earlier? Or any of the other points she had in any other texts she may have sent Tricia. If so, then her side of that is already out there, but MR's was not. See what I mean?

But if MR is lying or misleading the public then Elaine has every right to clear up the fact that what he is saying is not the truth :cow:

I also find it interesting, but for other reasons. I recall during the interview that Tricia said she kept getting texts while she was talking to MR. When the text came in about the mail lady from ER, I was wondering if all the texts Tricia got were from ER. I was thinking Tricia didn't say anything about texts coming in while she was talking to ER. So, in my mind I think MR could have probably texted Tricia if he wanted to during ER's interview but didn't, he waited to "call in" after ER was done with her interview, yet ER kept "disrupting" MR's, and I didn't quite understand why? Could she not have called back after he was done with her questions with her clarifications or fact disputes? Even in public debate, one person talks while the other listens then the other is given the floor for rebuttal.
There was also a chat going on where people texted their questions. Tricia was trying to field everyone's questions for both Mark and Elaine (I think someone else was helping her sort through), there were just more questions for Mark, and it is my belief that she mentioned texts coming in to explain to Mark why she may have sounded distracted.

Without the questions, you cannot always get the answers. Now we know what Mark's answer is to whether or not he was told that the mail lady sighting had been ruled out before the Dr. Phil show. For those who will mention, anyone who chooses to believe Mark will think he was telling the truth, those who don't believe him will choose to think he was lying. But the point is, from his own lips, we heard HIS answer, true or false.

I do hope that after the mediation, both MR and EH will be active in the upcoming search. I do wonder where the search would be, MR is very certain that Dylan is not in LaPlata county, where would they start?

AH. Thank you for clarifying that for me. I forgot about the chat board. Tricia's got herself a hard time. My A.D.D. self couldn't multi-task like that. That is probably why I was annoyed. I think I told everyone a few times I want to hear both sides and since MR doesn't "talk" that much, I was like "Oh finally, maybe there will be some clarifications on things." So I admit the interruptions annoyed me! I feel like it was that movie you have been waiting for a year to premiere in the theater and when you get there the people in front of you won't stop talking, LOL. I tend to forget that people other people will have questions.

I wasn't even irked by the question, in my rambling I misworded. Whoops. The rebuttal from ER after he answered the question. Just so I can clarify that. I wanted to hear his answers for some questions we had. In my mind we already know what ER thinks about the mail lady, I do believe somewhere before she has addressed it, so, why the interjection. Again, I just ASSumed that when that text came in all the other ones Tricia mentioned earlier were from ER and I was annoyed for all the aforementioned reasons.

Therein lies the problem. The only place they really can search with any effect is the local area (then they can rule the area out). Being able to rule an area out is also valuable. If Dylan is not in LaPlata county, he could be anywhere. At that point, the only other helpful options would be things like organizing people in other cities to distribute flyers of Dylan, buying time on other city local channels for a commercial for people to look for Dylan (might be cost prohibitive), have a "Share Dylan's Flyer with 100 of Your eMail and Facebook Friends" day (some of us might get several hundred emails, though....), anything to put Dylan's picture into other cities and states.

No, but it does make it hard to keep track of what someone is talking about, no matter who it is that is rambling. I have trouble keeping track of myself when I'm rambling....

  • #735
Pardon me for chiming in a little late on this conversation, but where are you getting that "everything he owned" was in Dylan's backpack?? Surely one backpack that size couldn't contain everything Dylan owned?? From the pics we've seen of Dylan with the backpack, both at the airport and Walmart, that backpack looked pretty light, not packed full. Not even a week's worth of clothes.
Just trying to clarify. TIA.

Sorry, I worded that incorrectly. I meant everything that he 'presently' had at his Dad's home, the ONLY belongings that he currently had with him, were in his backpack.

If your child was visiting, and all of his clothing, electronics, and toiletries, were in one backpack, and your child was MISSING, wouldn't you wonder if he took his belongings when he left?

Seems like MR might be doing the same.

Me too! I often lose my train of thought when I am rambling.

I would bet they already have their searchers ready and organized. If so there's no need for a public appeal for help.

Perhaps Tricia asked her to text in if there was anything she wanted to say?

Which is completely understandable. If either MR or Elaine have there facts mixed up then i think it is the right thing for either party to correct the other one. I see no harm in that !
