Speaking of 'discrepancies' in Mark's stories, I think I have another one.

In my memory bank, I swear that his original story was that he came home and assumed D had gone to see his friends already, so Mark texted him for confirmation, and after waiting awhile with no reply, he went to check with the friends.

But version two: Mark returned, and figured that Dylan was out exploring the campground or the rocks by the river, or the lake, so Mark took a nap and waited for him. Then when he woke up, he decided to go look around by the lake.

[In this new version, when he goes out looking, the Vallecito friend is not home. But in the original version, he talks to the friend, who says he hadn't talked to D, and that is what made him drive to B-town.]

Also, in his interview with MB, he claims Dylan was on the couch doing something with his phone or ipod. Either texting or playing games, he wasn't sure.

Then in his interview with Tricia, he says he argued with LE about the fact that Dylan was texting at that time. How does he all of a sudden know (even with LE telling him it's not true) that Dylan was texting and not playing Words with Friends or something?

What I found interesting from Mark talking to Tricia is he could have said things differently than he did that would have helped him look better to the people who are convinced that he harmed Dylan.

I was surprised that Mark said, without hesitation, that he had Wi Fi in his home and Dylan would use his I Pod to text from his home. That didn't help him at all but he told the truth. That impressed me greatly.

But then when LE releases a statement that definitively says that indeed MR did have wifi, (as they have discounted past statements) he would have looked even worse. IMO, he HAD to tell the truth. It's just too easy to find out if someone has a certain type of internet service these days.

Nope , I think March was the last time LE said anything .

I hope that LE are building a case but I find it highly unlikely as its been 6 months and its still pretty much at the same stage as back then !

:cow:

It can take a long time - months & months - for LE to build a case in the United States. They like to get all the forensics and all the evidence they possibly can before making an arrest nowadays. :moo:

Again, the timeline for the Ramsaran case is a good example:
  • December - Wife reported missing
  • about a week later - full search of the family home with forensics
  • late February - body found
  • late May - Sheriff arrests the husband following the final autopsy report and other forensics results. :jail:

Again, in that case the husband was 'cooperating' and never named a suspect nor POI. Many thought LE had nothing (LE & the media were very quiet - no pressers, few stories). According to MSM reports after the Grand Jury indictment, Jennifer was killed in the family home. Apparently, LE had plenty!

I have faith in LE. And hey, if LE fails, there's always eternal damnation.

He could have tried to minimize this by saying that he never saw Dylan use his I Pod to text with when in his home. MOO.

Thank you for explaining this to me as i had no idea :)

How would that of worked ?

If they got hold of Dylan's iPod account and he was texting bang in the middle of them watching the film together then what was MR to say " he was in the toilet" . :cow:

It could have worked with some people. Other people will never take Mark's word no matter what. He could say that he was watching the film and not what Dylan was doing. That makes sense. MOO.

I think if he had done that it could possibly have been more suspicious. Its interesting though how the events of Sunday night have changed and more details get added. The added information seems to come out right after somebody comments on line, eg the tv channel was originally nickelodeon, now its evolved to nickelodeon teen jnr.

I'm really curious about that last text, what if it was sent by MR? by him saying Dylan was texting it's possible he could be trying to deflect suspicion from himself.

IMO- not in such a small sitting area . And besides MR has already said he was pacing and could not settle into the movie. And his son had just arrived so i am sure there would of been some talking during the movie.

Sure it would be suspicious if Mark tried to minimize the fact that he has Wi Fi, that's my point. What events have changed? Mark said that Dylan was watching Nickelodeon teen jnr? I don't remember that.

Even if Mark said that he saw Dylan texting that doesn't mean that he noticed it was the I Pod he was using. MOO.

I do remember it in Tricia's show, Ranch. It was something like 'Dylan was watching one of the Nickelodeon channels, Nickelodeon teen or whatever', or 'the TV was on one of the Nickelodeon channels, Nickelodeon teen or whatever'.

I haven't seen any changes in events.

Thanks. So he has added "teen or whatever." Sounds like he's unsure which Nick channel that Dylan was watching. MOO.

what sort of internet he has would be easily proven or disproven by LE, IMO lying about something so easily proven would be ridiculous. Lying about who was texting is not easy to prove unless Dylan shows up alive and says he was the one texting.

I think people underestimate MR, IMO he isn't stupid but he does appear to be very sly.

I just don't read much into the whole nickelodeon statements. I think adults say 'nickelodeon' and mean any of those type of channels, little kiddie channels. Then kids will clarify, it's this one or that one, nick at nite, nick for teens, nick for toddlers, etc. This is so the older kids don't have folks thinking they watched blues clues or something. I think much was made early on about how Dylan would NOT be watching little kiddie cartoons, so MR wanted to clear it up by saying IN ESSENCE, it was a nick TYPE channel , not for kiddies, but Dylan's age group. Also much has been made about spongebob in particular and how folks of all ages watch him. My older brothers watch him sometimes ! This is another one of those things, like so many in this case, that I think amounts to a hill of beans about Dylans' whereabouts. Would it matter if the tv was on NAT GEO? SYFY ? I just don't know that NICK OR NOT matters,,,,,but I supposed I could be wrong.

ETA Point is when mine watched a Nick channel, I have no idea which one it is..... zilch......zero and I don't know that it matter. So I find nothing nefarious in MR"s knowledge or lack thereof of which Nick channel it was. MOOT in MOOOOO :)

I think that Mark answering the Wi Fi question without hesitation or trying to minimize it shows me he isn't trying to hide something that some people feel is important in this case. MOO.

I think the wifi question is important in the case because its another red flag of why did Dylan not contact anybody after 9.37pm . If his phone has stopped working then we know he could use his iPod touch to text because he had used that method on Sunday evening . He also had a land line and could use pen and paper if he had decided to head out early and leave a note .

Leaving a bowl and tv on is a lot easier to fake then writing a note or sending a text :cow:

what would be the point of hiding something that was so easy to prove as truth or lie?

do liars lie about every single thing?
