mileage can also be generally gleaned from those little oil change stickers if a service is used. (haha well in my car you could glean it that is because I let the oil guys change my oil)

Only if he got an oil change right before he headed for the airport.

I said "generally gleaned" meaning estimated.

I am wondering why there isn't much talk about the trip to Walmart after picking up Dylan at the airport. If dad and Dylan went to Walmart, they should have video. Does it make sense if MR was planning on getting rid of Dylan, that he would go buy a whole slew of groceries for him for the week? Just a thought...

Dad was with him!
The last person to see someone should get alot of flack if ya ask me!

JMO

I'm talking about here. I doin't see MR listed as a POI yet.

To my knowledge it has never been confirmed they went to Walmart. A poster speculated that would be a logical place to stop on the way home from the airport. jmo

To elaborate, I was wondering the other day if all the mileage on the truck is accounted for? At this exact moment, I don't know how they would do that - determine how many miles were on his car before he left for the airport? Wonder what their method is for determining that?

jumping off your post - if already discussed - sorry - a few pages behind again:blushing:

if dad uses either of his trucks for work, it could be possible that he has to keep some time of mileage logs...for work and the IRS

for some reason they took both trucks (O/T in Jessica Ridgeway's case, they looked at the vehicle(s) but did not remove them from the property).

I do too but I generally wait until multiple people get a shocked look and ask if that was really the last time I had my oil changed before I give up and get it done. I hate garages. They are not female friendly. Then again there could be a connection between the blonde jokes and the length of time between my visits

Well that would explain that....I thought I read earlier that MR took Dylan to store after airport...this thread is very lengthy, so maybe I misread and it was just speculation...thanks

I would think that in JR's case it would be easier to check out the vehicles than where MR lived. Plus, I think the personnel would be better qualified at some other location. I don't know this just speculating. jmo

A friend of the family said they went grocery shopping, but she did not specify where. Walmart was speculation.

Not to keep hammering away at what's already been discussed for days (although when a child is missing, it concerns just about everyone who's had a child or cared for one) ; but LE has stated that Dylan did not run away. I don't think so, either; but I'm not sure how they're so certain ?
So that leaves us with an abduction; or other possibilities NONE of us want to think about.
If Dylan was taken by someone who worked on the home , or an aquaintance; then why take Dylan's things as well ?
If this WAS an abduction, it has to be the strangest one I've heard of --- and horrible for Dylan's immediate family !
I'm trying not to read anything into what either parent says, since if it was either of my kids...I would be a wreck and saying god knows what.

As for what LotusPawprint posted above ; my best friend's sister and her husband were killed in a home invasion several years ago now. The perps were apprehended after about a week and turned out to be two of the men who worked on the remodeling being done. I won't go into alot of specifics out of respect for the families' privacy. Just wanted to say, be careful about people you hire to do anything to your house!!

Like I said, it's been a while now since that terrible crime happened; but my friend's family STILL hasn't gotten over it. It's like their lives were shattered that day, never to be the same again.
I don't know how I'd react since I've never personally been a victim of any crime ; but my friend asked me to come along to the parent's house the day after they all received the news; and I hope I never have to witness grief like that again.
I'm pretty reserved, but that day I found myself giving hugs to people I didn't know very well. I still feel for them , especially during holidays !!

I have sent you the information on this but just in case anyone ever wants to change settings click on your user control panel and you can change a lot of things there to even include the color of the page.

Some of us have MR on our radar. Some don't. I am open to hearing from everyone despite what i think. When it comes right down to it it's only going to matter what a Jury thinks if there are ever charges against someone and brought to Trial. At this point I just want Dylan found and of course Justice if a crime has been committed :please:

If it was a small store would it even have cameras. And would the police believe him if he couldn't produce proof as in a receipt, lots of unopened foods maybe. Idk . Also if he did say he went somewhere and that store did have cameras and he wasn't on them, we'll I'm guessing that would make them put a magnifying glass on him from that point on imo

Why would he when he has several cars?

I think the confusion came because you used "the rental" instead of "a rental".

  • #176
If MR wanted to kidnap Dylan due to custodial issues, then it seems unlikely that he would report him missing and draw attention to himself. In cases of parental abduction, the parent usually goes missing with the child.

Dylan's friends said that he has been known to hitchhike. I wonder if his parents were aware of that.

Sometimes it not about the child, sometimes it's all about hurting the other parent

So LE has said ' we are not calling MR a suspect' ? Correct.
Have they said anything like ' at this time' ?
Also why not just say ' we do not have a suspect at this time' .
It seems as they are singling him OUT to not be a suspect , which means
he's likely close to being a suspect as soon as they find that one little tiny something.
Is that correct?
I mean does it not seem odd to just say nothing about a suspect or there are no suspects.

Yes, that's what I have been wondering about to. I often feel my ex is jealous because he's is poor and my new husband has a well paying job and lots of stuff that my ex can't afford

IF it is true that went years without exercising his visitation rights until ER moved away with/to her now SO then I think this is all about hurting her.

Linda,

You hit the nail right on the head with that statement.

As I previously stated both parents have to talk about the other parent - either what they said or how they think they feel - there's still a lot of anger in both the parents. Even though they may have been divorced for some time, there was a hearing in September - and I'm sure the emotions are still
"boiling" from then....:furious::furious:
