Yes, I understand that. The dogs picked up the scent on top of the water on the south end but depending on the wind direction, the scent could have moved across the top of the water from where potential human remains are located … possibly the north end. This is my understanding of info provided here from a recent poster who is search and rescue experienced with dogs.

There are 3 or 4 posters who have experience:
Sarx, someone from CA, and I do not remember the other poster.

Seek and Find has diving experience not SAR

According to the above statement by the family friend, Dylan is very close with his mother - even has a pet name for her.

Of all the cases I follow, missing child cases break my heart more than any others.

So I just watched the video of dad, watched his body lang. listened to the way he spoke and I'm just not seeing dad being involved. There was one time in that video (at about 3:06 ) where he talked of Dylan in the past tense and began to cry but Im just not feeling it ....
I could be totally wrong though........

The meaning of the quote isn't very clear. I was thinking she could be referring to the visit in September. You're probably correct that she was referring to the text Dylan sent his mom Sunday night, but it would be interesting to know whether there were any indications of problems (via text, e.g.) during Dylan's visit with his dad in Sept.

In other words, the poor phrasing of this sentence can be interpreted as him going missing before, which we do not think to be the case, that rather this sentence is referring to the scowl text.

When I first read it, I too was like "What?"

It was our beloved member sarx who posted the info about wind direction across the surface of the lake. IIRC, she said HRD dogs who are trained to detect human remains in water typically work against the wind (downwind).

In my un-expert opinion, if the wind was blowing from the north end of the lake in a southerly direction, then I agree, the north end of the lake should also be searched.

My thing is I don't really see the dad having done anything to Dylan, but that it sort of appears that LE thinks so. Or at least, they are making a poor job of showing it if they think otherwise.

I thought the sentence meant;

he knew if he was having a hard time at the lake he could call or text mom, like he did once before, WHEN HE WAS HAVING A HARD TIME AT THE LAKE, ....



THE REASON I say that is because Cory once said ' he knew he could call us if he was having any trouble..' and it made me think that Dylan had done it before when visiting dad.

This has been quite an emotional roller coaster, and we're not even related to Dylan. I've been waiting for Oceanblue and certain other posters defending MR to return and give us hope that we're wrong. They had some pretty viable explanations for a lot of things and I had started considering the possibility that Dylan is still alive somewhere.

Sleep well. Hopefully there will be new leads tomorrow. Prayers for Dylan's family.

Oh thanks. Reporters have gotten so lax since everything is online and no one has to 'proof' anything before print. I see so many who can't even spell or use tenses right. Aggravating.

When I first read this, it seemed odd that 8 days in, his family had not heard anything from Mark. His sister said : As now it is going on the 8th day of Dylan&#8217;s disappearance, and I am just praying to hear some news soon. Hopefully we will hear something from my brother soon hear on our end.

If your son was missing, wouldnt you contact your family?

I feel the same way. Not sure why but I really believe that little boy will be found in that lake. I hate it. I wish I could get it out of my head but I can't.

I think the lake is the red herring. No evidence he was ever at the lake. Fishing pole they found was not his.
