I get that Dylan, even though being anxious to visit his friends, slept in. That is typical. However, why not call Dad when you wake up to see if he'll be home soon to give you a ride? Or call one of the friends to see if their parents can pick you up, or a brother/sister, or if you can meet between the two places? These are teens - communication is constant. But Dylan doesn't even make attempts?
If the nighttime contact was via text only (which I find likely), I don't think someone else would have any trouble writing a message in Dylan's style. You just need to look at the past texts to see it. Setting up a meeting for the next morning is a good alibi also (he was home at some point, and had plans, so somebody must have kidnapped him between, right?). Besides, I'm sure the conversation with mom and the friend were not all that complex. "I'm here
" and "dads a ______ 2nite, how bout 6:30am ur house?" "ok 2marrow" is pretty much all you need.
