I don't think cats are going to eat a backpack.

Been following along the whole time,a little hesitant to post. IMO I can very easily see Dylan upset that he cant go with friends that evening so he text them and told them it would be tomorrow,Has anyone verified this text as far as what was said? Is it possible he told someone dad was leaving in the morning and to come get him?He could have used the land line as well, young kids today are smart they know phones can be traced,my niece ran away at 14 and took her battery and turned phone off, when we asked her how she talked to friends she said i used other friends phones! praying for Dylan and truly hoping he is hanging out with his buddies!
SBMWell, according to his father he ate breakfast and watched TV. So didn't get abducted in his sleep. Nothing was disturbed in the home from what father describes, so nothing indicates Dylan was abducted from the home against his will.

How in the world did we go from "out like a light" and "nudged Dylan's shoulder" , to "...ate breakfast..." .
This is getting strange.
I WISH that Dylan is just hiding out somewhere.
But, I doubt even a good friend could hide him this long, w/o an adult catching on .
Exactly. If there was any record of landline use, I don't doubt police would have found that out.
But would they take their backpack and fishing pole?
I agree. But how long would it take? Landlines are a bit different from cell phones. LE would need a search warrant or subpeona to get the info. MR could probably call the phone company and get records right away? I'm not sure. Anyone else know?

I can't get past the way MR's statements sound to me but I have to admit that we can create a viable scenario here.
We just need a dead phone battery and a knock at the door in pretty quick order after Dylan wakes up. I don't think that transportation was arranged but I can work with someone dropping by unplanned and taking advantage of Dylan being there alone. I can see my youngest assuming the one of my "friends" would be safe enough to jump in a car with if they dropped by at a moment when he wanted to go somewhere bad enough.

Could be, but I think we start stretching past Occam's with these scenarios, IMO. Someone happens to stop by on the morning Dylan's there while his father isn't and coincidentally Dylan's phone isn't charged/turned on/used since ~ 8 pm, manages to convince Dylan to leave with him/her so it's probably a trusted someone who didn't know Dylan was visiting :waitasec:, grabs Dylan's things and a fishing pole...:waitasec:
Which brings something up. Iirc, LE has the ability to reverse search for cells, right? Ie see which phones pinged a certain tower at a certain location within a certain timeframe...

According to father, father was going to drop him off at friends. Why would Dylan arrange for someone to pick him up? And police already said they determined he didn't run away. Presumably that includes police ruling out him still hanging out with his buddies.
Maybe Dylan was upset with father and didn't wont him to take him, perhaps out of being stubborn he would rather go with friends.

A pack of cats near Dylan's home.
They do, however, eat people. I certainly think a mountain lion attack it not likely, but I am not ruling it out. This is fresh in my mind because not long ago my brother was stalked by a mountain lion for over an hour while on a walk. He's a big guy, 6'3" and tried the turning to face the cat and looking as big and threatening as possible. Cat just stared. This went on for an hour until brother got to his car. :what:
We live in California, this was near Ortega Hwy for those who are familiar with it.
LE ruled out lost in the woods. Would that include attacked by mountain lions in the woods??
