I'm wondering now if ER had to move the kids far away to feel safe? She may have been more creeped by him than we have realized. If that's true, she has shown tremendous restraint throughout this whole ordeal.

The college she worked at in Durango has made serious cutbacks in employees...making others look in different areas for jobs, this could of been the case, but who knows, and to be honest doesn't seem worth exploring.

Ya know, poor MR. Aside from missing his beloved son who was everything to him, it's looking like its going to cost him quite a pretty penny for legal defense and child support on top of all that. I hope he has good resources.

Why child support if DR is not found or worse (gulp)? I m sure that is the least of MR's worries. MOO.

bbm - what are your thoughts on why LE may have done this?

That they're either ok with the LDT info being out there, or they wanted it out there, as they could've declined to confirm whether or not any LDTs had been administered.

If so, she waited a long time to do it. And then she sent her son right back into it. That makes no sense to me. jmo

Did I ever say cops confirmed it?

You said she passed her lie detector exam, yes. That would mean it was confirmed, because no one would ever lie about failing to pass the exam.

Since the cops weren't there when he had an argument with the neighbor, they were likely in a position to make an arrest based solely off the neighbor's complaint.

And there are a lot of "imo" in that statement, that's a lot to use to judge a person.

In my experience, they don't usually arrest someone just on the strength of someones complaint, without some evidence. If I tell the cops my neighbor was just here and threatened to hurt me, then they would go speak to my neighbor.

If that neighbor was calm and rational, and I had no proof of their threats, then imo, they would not be arrested and charged with menacing behavior, child abuse, disorderly conduct, and trespassing. There would have to be credible witnesses and serious concern about the persons behavior before that happened.

[We have two families on my cul-de-sac that have had a serious ongoing dispute for 6 or 7 yrs now. They have loud scxreaming matches full of curses and threats in the middle of the night. The Ventura Co Sheriffs have been called out many times, and we have been interviewed many times as possible witnesses, but I have never seen any one arrested yet. There were a couple of citations for throwing eggs onto a car and a noise complaint though. lol :pillowfight:]

This statement was made when he was asked about ER's appearance on NG - which he didn't even know about until the reporter told him. I think he's frustrated that she keeps going on national news shows and making statements about him, when he's not there to defend himself.

She's going on the shows to discuss her son. She's answering all questions, any question, and every question asked of her, whether anyone likes it or not. Which clearly some people don't. When she's asked about MR and what she knows of him, his past, his tendencies, his relationship and interactions with Dylan, what little he's relayed to her since Dylan's disapperance... she answers these questions. IMO and MOO I don't think her focus or motivation has ever been taking down MR, it's been solely on finding her son and what happened to him. Nothing about this situation is pleasant. It's all ugly.

I'm gonna guess that if MR wanted to go on NG or any other show, he'd be welcomed. I'll bet his attorney would be welcomed too. If he would prefer a more professional setting, maybe HLN wouldn't be the best place.

You don't mess with someone's child. All I get from ER is a VERY fierce momma bear who cannot stand anyone who would let harm come to her child.

jmo.

I know it has been said that Mark did not see Dylan often when he was still living in the local area, but nowhere has that been quantified. Does anyone know about how much they saw each other? These things can be relative; what one person believes to be infrequent another might view as often. I have no idea what the picture really was.

Especially since it's been reported somewhere (sorry, don't have the link handy, but if anyone else does that would be great) that MR is out of town a lot due to work. IIRC, I believe ER stated in tonight's NG episode that she thinks he works in some capacity as a truck driver. I have no idea what MR does for work, but if he's a long-haul truck driver, that would put him out of town for weeks, if not months, at a time, which would make regular visitation very difficult.

Trying to keep an open mind to various possibilities.

I don't know of anyone talking when his/her lawyer said not to; what's the point of hiring a lawyer if one doesn't follow the advice? Lawyers can drop clients, too.

Check out Drew Peterson he was beyond outta control

I understand what you mean, but if that was the case, why did LE drop everything but a relatively minor charge?

It seems more likely in this case that the police do what they sometimes do, decide to "play it safe" by placing someone under arrest and then letting the system do its job. I *do* know someone who was arrested under such a situation (and the charges were dropped.)

Seems that Elaine went on with her life. Good job. In a relationship. Dylan appeared happy and he and brother Cory are close. Just sayin....

This may make you feel a little better - I've had 2 piece of crap HTC phones this year that died. Lost every number, message photo I had.

What I did to get everyone's numbers was email them from a computer - yo, phone broke and I need your cell number. And they would send it. Of course I remember, DS, DD all that. But I didn't know my sister's or my mom's cell. Mom's home phone number of course, remember that, but her cell, heck no.

I had an HTC that froze up. Lost everything. Photos, phone numbers, everything. Had to start from scratch.

Moo..but I full well believe that just as Elaine is being so vocal in her support of LE investigating..so, too do I believe that LE are fully aware and did not in any way discourage mom's speaking out..

OTOH according to dad he's not even had any contact with LE since last week ..

Sometimes the website of the cell company does a backup of your address book. Something to try next time!

Sorry about losing your cell phone data, I've had that happen and it sucks trying to reconstruct everything :(
