If you use your cell phone to make phone calls and so store phone numbers on it, and it dies on you, you probably don't remember the number.

I have a bunch of numbers on my cell (SO, parent's cell) and couldn't for the life of me know what they were if someone happened to my cell.

I'm sure he knew his home phone number to at least call his mother in the morning since he would know she was expecting his text.

His friends, mom, dad, and LE all seem to agree he didn't run away. MOO

Is it also officially considered that he didn't leave of his own volition, as in he did not hitch hike?

And it is now a criminal investigation?

If his phone was dead, then where is it now?

And a belated thanks to those who transcribed NG's show. My husband would have vacated the house for the evening if I'd turned it on. :what:

My kids would have called me immediately if their cell died. LOL ' HELP, my phone's messed up.' [ I have gotten several of those calls over the years. My son dropped his brand new i-phone into a lake. ]

I'm pretty sure you can't link his Facebook account here. Anyway the second one isn't that new it's over a year old. The third and fourth appear to be game accounts only. He is friends with many family members on both accounts.

Eta I stand corrected Facebook account of victim is ok even if its a minor. I didn't know that. That said the second account doesn't appear at all to be made by anyone other than dylan.

This was not my interpretation of MR's comments, but maybe I missed a follow up interview? My understanding was that MR and Dylan tentatively agreed that Dylan would hang with his friends Mon & Tues (not spend the night) and Wed. Dad, Dylan and Dylan's friends would some sort of organized activity and Thurs. Dad and Dylan would spend together - but had not finalized just what they would do.

But I thought Dad was just saying Dylan would hang with his friends those 1st two days, but not necessarily spend the night. Where did the spending the night come from, or is that just a different interpretation (which is fine)?

Salem

MR also stated in the video-store interview that one tentative plan was to drive on Wednesday to Castle Rock for Thanksgiving Thursday with his brother. But he didn't follow that with what they would then do Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. This also raised the question of whether his brother had invited him or whether he knew that Mark was planning on coming and bringing Dylan. I also wonder if Dylan had mentioned that to any of his friends before he arrived.

From the timeline transcript:

R: Can you tell me about your plans for Thanksgiving?

M: Well, because he was with me for such a short period of time, we had touched on a few things. One of the things was we talked about going to my brother David's house in Castle Rock. Um, I know his friends were important to him so we were wanting to make sure he had adequate time with his friends. Um, you know basically the plan was Monday and Tuesday he would spend with his friends. Maybe Wednesday, you know we had talked a little bit about going bowling or doing something as an activity, not with just me and him, his friends included. Then we would have Thanksgiving day to ourselves. Or there was a possibility we would travel and get to my brother's house. So, you know, none of that ever got finalized. I mean, we were just focusing on the next day and what we were going to do and how that was going to take place. That's as far as we really ever got. You know, his friends are important to him and I certainly don't expect him to spend a whole week with me when he's got, he's grown up in this community and he's got tons of people who love and care about him.

Ya know, poor MR. Aside from missing his beloved son who was everything to him, it's looking like its going to cost him quite a pretty penny for legal defense and child support on top of all that. I hope he has good resources.

They would be going out of their way to go to Bayfield. Assuming they hit the Walmart near the airport and then the McDonalds north of that, they took 240 which would put them on the way to Vallecito. Bayfield is WAY out of the way.

Just to say this there is no other Walmart close to Vallecito, the next closest would be Farmington NM,or if I remember there might be one in Pagosa Springs, and to drive into Farmington or Pagosa would be seriously silly. So it has to be the one in Durango. Bayfield is also South of Vallecito so it would of been alot more of a drive about 30 to 45 min depending on your speed..

Omg, so did mine! Well mine swears that he was walking along the dock texting and minding his own business when the lake jumped up at him and attacked him.

Did someone say he had been called a suspect??

This seems to be the most recent direct quote from LE irt, I think.

link

Has anyone else seen a direct quote from LE since Thursday on this?

Moo

No, but from what I can see people could be treating him as though he is one. <modsnip>

There was discussion & links irt hitching in the last thread. Iirc, that is one possibility that LE was still exploring, but mom said they'd talked abt it and she didn't think he would, and dad was still trying to wrap his head around the idea.
