What's the point of taking a test if they won't tell you the results?.

You don't take the poly for YOU .. you take the poly for LE .. as long as THEY know the results.... They can tell you whatever.. or nothing at all ..

imo

If that were the case, I personally wouldn't have scheduled four hours of errands on the very first day!

And just what were those errands? That were so important they couldn't wait until Dylan actually went to his friends house?

I disagree about the errands. If I truly wanted to spend quality time with a teenage son, I'd schedule all of my errands for the morning. I'd expect the kid to sleep in and not be ready to do much of anything until at least noon, especially if he was tired from traveling to visit me.

And I expect the errands were planned before dad knew Dylan had made plans to meet up with friends early in the morning.

Just a reminder about polygraph test, they are not allowed to be used in court because they are not reliable. But it is very intimidating to have one performed even when you know you are innocent. I have had to have a polygraph twice, it's no fun. (for security)

I know it's an investigative tool for LE, but I fail to see what does that have to do with police telling someone if they passed or failed.
Three outcomes are possible-pass, fail or inconclusive. And LE does say pass or fail all the time.

I think Dylan would have chose to stay home but went to keep peace and to see his old friends again. I dont think he was totally against it and i dont think mom was either.
Ya do what ya have to do and move on.
Kids when they turn into teens dont want parents company they just want to be with their friends He would have been fine I think if the plans didnt change.

I think things went downhill when he couldnt go to see them sunday evening!
Right when the cell died!

What about the text he sent his mother as soon as he was with his dad. A upset smiley or the like. I think things were bad as soon as he was picked up. He was upset when he sent that text IMO and that was right before his phone was shut off too.

They can be used in court of both parties (prosecution and defense) agree to it.

Are pass and fail truly an option? I thought there was indication of deception and no indication of deception. And, isn't each question scored separately? So there could be indication of deption on one and not on others?

I did take a polygraph once, with regards to money stolen from a safe for which I had the combination and regular access. Had to take it at the local police department and it was very intimidating. But they told me at once that I passed and moved on.

In any event, like some other posters, without any new info coming from LE, I am at a loss to have anything more to say about Dylan's case. I've seldom seen so many threads based on so little info in any case, I must say. JMO

There have been many highly publicized cases over the past few years where cell phone pings, texts, and phone calls have been key in tracking the movements of those involved in the case. Information regarding cell phone tracking is well known.

The fact that Dylan's cell phone was turned off Sunday night and did not go back on Monday morning is worrisome to me.

Yes, kid's cell phones run out of charge but you usually don't see those same kids end up missing.

Additionally, I home PPD tried to get DNA from the blanket Dylan's father said was used when Dylan slept on the couch and fingerprints from that bowl of cereal his father said was left.

About the phone - Dylan's mom says it is an old phone and she plans to get him a new one for Christmas. Maybe his phone just died? Coincidental, I know, but coincidences do happen.

There were recently charges dropped against a tennis referee because she passed a poly.
So, yes, there is pass or fail.

The phone dying so close to the time that Dylan vanishes would be about the worst coincidence in the history of coincidences.

Wish I bought that it was all coincidental...

So I guess they found nothing in the trucks to lead them to believe there was anything violent that took place in them? Or is it to soon to rule that out?

As i go about my Holiday Preparations my heart goes out to Dylans Family. He missed Thanksgiving. Will he be home for Xmas? He should be home. Going over his Xmas list. Playing with friends. Enjoying all the excitement the Holidays bring. I wish the world was a better place. So very very sad. Where are you little man?

.. well, that, and INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE. If they had the evidence, there is no amount of "passing" a poly gonna sav you ... imo.

ER said MR wasn't ever involved in Dylan's life so I don't think Dylan spent much time with his father after his parents divorced. His parents may have separated long before they divorced too.

Early on, ER gave the impression that MR didn't take advantage of visitation until recently. Later, she clarified that it was because MR's job required him to be out of town frequently. Similarly, she told the NG producer that MR failed his polygraph, and then backpedaled on the subject. Their contentious history makes it difficult for her to give MR the benefit of a doubt. I understand why she has jumped to conclusions, but I wish she would have shared it with LE only, instead of the public.

Regarding MR's criminal history, it seems that he's stayed out of trouble for the past 10 years. Maybe he's had a change in his life, such as having a religious conversion or entering a 12-step program, that has helped him in ways that ER doesn't realize. In her mind, he is still the hothead that she was married to, but maybe he isn't like that anymore, at least in his time alone with Dylan.

However, if MR is responsible, I hope that LE is carefully gathering evidence and building their case so that he, or whomever is responsible, is brought to justice.

We've not heard one way or the other .. to my knowledge.

http://kwgn.com/2012/12/03/dylan-redwines-father-denies-polygraph-claim-made-by-mother/

I understand MR is under a great deal of scrutiny with his son being missing. I know one thing that would relieve this and get the public focused on an abduction and that is to take the polygraph, pass it and get out from under that cloud of suspicion. I know supposedly sociopaths and others using tricks (I've heard of having a tack in your shoe and pressing down when asked a question) but I don't think that will happen in this case.

I dont think it would quiten the accusations one bit. Then people would be saying he is a sociopath and can pass a poly. Its a no win proposition imo.

And LE is never going to divulge the results anyway even if he took one. They never do.

Why would you guess that? LE has not said anything about evidence found or not found in trucks.
