There is a difference between walking outside for hours and being inside, getting from the airport to the car, etc.

I'm not going get into a backwards and forwards about this, but nobody mentioned how long Dylan was or could have been outdoors. Nor do we know if he had pulled on the hoodie or whatever other item he brought with him to wear in case he got cold in Mid November Vallecito. It's MOO, that's all.

That was excruciating.

I do believe that people will have a great understanding of MR once this is done. That being from his own mouth and his own actions.

You can say that again.

Elaine - he hasn't watched nickelodeon in years, and if you knew him you'd know that.

MR - i don't know what he watches when he's with you, But i will tell you for a fact that when he's with me and we are at my house, he watches nickelodeon.

Elaine interrupts - he's never wth you

MR - i guarantee you that.

I thought MR and Dylan watched a two hour movie when he was at your house MR, and you claim Dylan watches nickelodeon ?

If Dylan enjoyed "Nick" that much then I fail to see why when he spends most of his time with Elaine that he never watched it at home . Why would Dylan deprive himself of something he enjoys at home ?

It's strange one!

She was jumping down his throat because it was the FIRST TIME since the disappearance, that she had the chance to speak to him face to face. She was interjecting 'November' because she knew her ex was LYING about the fishing pole story. She knows her son and she knows he wouldn't pack up all his belongings and walk 5 miles to the lake by himself to fish. And that was the ORIGINAL STORY that her ex tried to sell.

I don't blame her for jumping down his throat. She has already listened to his rambling word salad 'interviews' for months now. She is tired of listening to those ridiculous circular fabrications. And so am I.

Then I guess it should have been made clear to all of us, and of course MR, if that was the purpose of the show. I had thought that DP was going to be doing the interviewing and possibly be able to extract some additional information from his guests.
IMO MR's demeanor changed pretty quickly when it became clear that this was the direction his appearance on the show was heading. I don't know if he is guilty or not, but either way I can see why he would get tongue-tied and defensive on the stage.

Backtracking a bit, the only time I recall the fishing pole actually being mentioned by MR himself was during that doorstop interview when he said something (quite calmly and not on the attack IMO) about not understanding why the lake hadn't been looked at earlier since it was likely Dylan had it with him. Paraphrased of course, but I do remember him using the word "likely"

Very early on in the case, I remember a woman posting on the FMDR page, and she went on to say that her son had attended school (in Bayfield I believe) with Dylan, and how thrilled they had both been about the school's fly fishing programme. That has popped into my head every time others have dismissed his interest in fishing.

I agree with this to a point.

My issue is more with respect to the fact that I don't believe he had very much in his backpack. He was starying for a week. I do understand that at times things are forgotten, but I don't even believe that there were more than 2 changes of clothes in there, and we know that he did not have a coat.

When you are in the mountains, it can go from 40 degrees above zero to 20 below very quickly. ER made an issue out of the fact that there were no scent items at MR's, thus I would like to know who packed for him. Maybe he packed himself.

I would like to know if there were any checked baggage, I wish Dr. Phil had thought of that question, as I know those awesome dogs had a scent of someone.

The concern stated is that it may not of been a clean scent. If there was nothing for scent at MR's why did someone not immediately turn around and get some. I do understand they brought 4 bags 10 days later, but my understanding is that these items were used in different searches, as handlers like to use new scent items when possible.

It was a question I very much would like an answer to.

Do we know if CR lives in the same home with ER and Dylan? Only asking because he would be old enough to be living on his own elsewhere. My first thought about MTV is that maybe he watches it more at ER's because of he could be watching with his older brother? Alternatively it's possible MTV isn't part of MR's cable package - it isn't part of the standard package offered by my carrier, but an extra. Another reason could be that MR can't stand the channel/noise/whatever so he discourages it at his place- he did seem very adamant about Dylan not watching it that's for sure.
My kids watch totally different TV and movies when with their dad - on the menu would be action, fantasy, or what I consider dreadful comedy (of the Adam Sandler kind). With me, we tend to watch NCIS, crime shows or British Comedy.

6 miles?

My very athletic 13 year old would never walk 6 miles to a friends house! We're outside a small rural town. Plus I would never let her!

The postal worker said she saw 2 boys walking. I would think that would be easy to check with all his friends. Did you spend anytime with Dylan?

I thought Cory was at university as he is about 21 , no ?

But I could be wrong but if he is there I assume he lives away in term time .

I remember it was in one of the videos they showed. Fishing pole missing, he said it was Dylan's.

Someone else might remember better than me, sorry. I do remember ER saying something about him not even knowing how to bait a hook or words to that effect. I just can't recall if that was in the pre-recorded intro, or on stage.

THANK YOU so much for these awesome transcripts.

I scanned them looking for one particular moment/ cannot find it.

Does anyone remember where in the episode it was that MR 'laughs' and says "I didn't want to tell you that part." In reference to his polygraph results?

I have not kept up with this case. Don't know much at all about it. I was aware of it, always new posts here.

Anyway, from my newbie to the case mind I got weird vibes from his Dad while watching DP today.
Mom seemed to have real angry emotion and Dad just seemed flat and annoyed/angry with her.

All just my opinion.

BBM This is my take on that little exchange. After MR listed the possible places he knows Dylan to visit while at his place, ER interjects with "November? Mid November?" IMO she is implying that it would be too cold for Dylan to want to do any of those things.

Over the course of all the threads here many posters have implied the same thing IIRC. The thing is, Dylan arrived the evening before wearing a t-shirt and shorts, so IMO obviously he wasn't feeling the cold himself at that point. I have never understood why anyone would then assume he would suddenly be too cold to venture outdoors the next day, when it was presumably daylight and sunny, so probably warmer than it had been the night before?
I'm not getting into the whole "no coat" discussion for the same reason. I am sure Dylan packed what he thought he would have needed - if that was a hoodie or long sleeved top of some sort, so be it. The point that I am trying to make is that Dylan brought and wore the clothes he thought he needed for the visit. Unless there was a cold snap overnight, why should his clothing (or lack of) be an issue or reason to doubt that Dylan could well have been outdoors and possibly the victim of an unknown predator?
RBM: Just because he arrived in a t-shirt and shorts does not mean he was not feeling the cold. It means he probably wasn't wearing a jacket on the plane. There is a big difference between going from a heated airport to a heated car to heated Walmart back to a heated car, and going out into 54 degree weather for possibly hours (assuming he went outside to hack around). Not saying it couldn't happen, just that it's not remotely the same thing. And bringing what you "think" you will need is, again, not the same as having what you need. (It is always possible Dylan stepped outside, whether for 5 minutes or longer and there just happened to be an abductor where he was.)

My friend works in the same position as ER does---director of student aid--for a University, and she gets very cheap tuition for her son as part of her pay. I wonder if ER has the same deal?

I have wondered about life insurance policies on Dylan.

ER has a very good, stable high paying job. She is about to marry a fairly wealthy man from a very well off family. They have a beautiful, newly remodeled home. She had no reason to cash in an insurance policy on her son. And if he is not found, nobody cashes in for 7 yrs anyway. I think there is a ZERO % chance that she took out a policy on D in order to cash in. JMO
