I'm curious if she had a prepaid phone that she thought no one knew about and LE got her pings from that.
bbm
Hmmm....
Good point, I didn't think about burner phones.
Possible.
We can speculate but I wouldn't be surprised.
She'd think -- "No one will ever know where I went that day."

All of that "hard work and effort" on the part of the monster --- only to be utterly wasted and rendered useless by a great D.A. and investigative team !
Pity.

BBM:
Presumably, TS had her phone with her when she went to pick up AS at the airport.
He would have called her when his flight landed.
If she "left it at home" for a second straight day, that would look beyond suspicious, especially given the fact that GS had been reported missing.
What parent wouldn't have their phone glued to their person in the event of their child being missing?

That's a good point. Many question why she rented the car at 8:50am when Al's flight wasn't due in until around noon. Could be since she parked her car at the airport, she left her phone in her car, and drove to where ever in the rental car.....so the phone pinged at the airport the whole time....easy to say she was just hanging out there waiting for Al's flight. But that only accounts for about a 3 hour window, she had the car for 28 hours, so that goes back to the question of the phone for the rest of that time.

IKR?!!!
I giggle when I think about this!

I remember posters being adamant that there was No Way she moved him in the rental. Then later were discussing that same thing as a possibility. We all have the right to be wrong

We discussed the possibility of body transport very early. If she did transport the body in the rental car, that would be pretty much a smoking gun in this case

I don't know how long it would take to get all the forensic testing on that car done, probably a couple of weeks and then some tests run twice, for certainty. So three weeks? That, combined with her leaving the area (a bit earlier than 3 weeks ago, methinks), leads to an arrest warrant?

It would be great evidence in this tragic case.

Context is everything.

If TS didn't have her phone with her on Tuesday while she was driving that rental, it raises all kinds of red flags.

If she left their house without her phone at any point on Tuesday, there is no innocent explanation.

Her 11-year-old stepson was missing. LE had been alerted. A missing person's report had been filed.

There is no circumstance under which it would be "normal" for a parent not to have their phone on their personage at all times on the day after their 11-year-old stepson "ran away."

JMO.

Tuesday? The phone was left home on monday, during the 4-hr silly errand run.

Some of us have also been speculating about whether or not she had her phone with her on Tuesday while she had the rental car.

none of this is right....TS is fervent

I’m guessing the same is true for the Subways and the Kohl’s. There is no way she had time to make stops at ALL of those businesses on the witness list. Seems more plausible their cameras caught her on video. I do however think she went into Enterprise asking some strange questions about their rental cars’ GPS capabilities and when she didn’t get the answers she wanted she made her way on over to Budget/Avis. MOO.
Very smart :D

Folks keep mentioning how not having her phone is such a red flag. It's interesting yes, may be significant, but also may be completely innocent. She may have run back inside to use the bathroom and just left it sitting on the counter. That's completely normal. Yeah that might not be typical for her but not having it doesn't mean she's guilty of anything. Taken as a whole, it is interesting, but at this point nothing more.

Not on a long trip like that. She would have turned around and driven back to get it the second she noticed it missing. Most people use gps for longer trips even if they know route well just to check traffic and best routes for that time.

Yes, I have thought from very early on she was/is crazy enough to have moved him in the rental. I wouldn’t be surprised. She has a penchant for doing things others wouldn’t chance. IMO

To me her wording of it is telling.

I left my phone at home

vs

I FORGOT my phone at home.

if I’m running errands with my child who has a stomach ache and he pooped his pants not 24 hrs prior and there are other children at their respective schools, the only way I DO NOT have my phone with me is if I forgot it and I sure would be telling people that is what happened.

I LEFT my phone definitely makes it sound intentional. But it could also be her choice of words, maybe it’s different in her vocabulary.

No, that is not always true, regardless of length of trip. It may be out of the norm for TS, but in and of itself, could be completely innocent. At least for the Monday errand run. For Tuesday, that phone should have never left her hand waiting for any word about her stepson.

Did she leave it at home on Monday on purpose? I think so of course, but that doesn't make it 100% certain.

<modsnip: quoted post was removed>

MOO changing her story so many times is highly relevant.

When did you first realize you left your phone at home?

With a child in kindetgarten and a sick kid with you why didn't you go back for it?
