Woah, and how about this?

Attorney for #LeteciaStauch say masks covering people’s faces in court stops them from seeing important facial reactions, and therefore they can’t go to court while that safety precaution is in place.

Which could be like, several months. Maybe more.

Now this argument, in general, with court proceedings I could see gaining steam.

Perhaps they should just put up a clear plexiglass shield around the witness box. It could easily be disinfected regularly.

Good thought. Most businesses have had to get creative with safe guards to keep operating. I would imagine courts will have do the same. Being a standstill for too long just doesn't seem like a good option.

Many similarities, and I believe she was in that area at the time.
Locklear
A rape by 2 men was claimed
Hired the men/promised them money from insurance
Lies.
Stepson AND husband murdered

Makes me wonder if AS dodged a bullet as well. And yes, she does resemble the photo in article.

Gannon...
We seem to be at a standstill, or possibly just the emergence after the covid virus...I am finally visiting my grands, they are 4 and 2, absolutely precious, but now they, and their exhausted parents are asleep, but I stopped in to check, while it is peacefully
slow here, and I am reluctant to check out the many other tragedies on other forums...stay safe, vigilant and trust your own instincts.

Although the resemblance IS there, and the Locklear name connection, I wasn’t trying to imply a relationship between the Tabor city person and Letecia, it was more the darkness in the eyes of both women, there is no soul or light there...

When we saw Letecia in her MB court appearance, she had a reason for the hopeless look in her eyes, as does the Tabor City thing, but Letecia had that dead look in px well beforeGannon’s death...

IMHO that is something we should look for if we have doubts about someone....clearly if someone is in mental distress, depression, or using drugs, their eyes convey that, Therefore if we see a person w/ “ Letecia” eyes, we should be wary.

It is a tell, isn’t it? One that cannot be covered up, sooner or later, the sunglasses come off...JMHO

The only way to endure the inevitable continuance is to go out once again, be safe, but enjoy our freedom as Gannon would have, but even more so as Letecia can’t...

oops, forgot I was working on another reply...

Seeing her talk about the "safety" of a home hits harder than any of the other bs she's come up with so far. Gannon should have felt safe in his home, she's the reason he'll never see a 12th birthday. Get used to your cell, LS.

Gannon..well said, thank you!

Was there a container of straws dropped? Because there’s sure a lot of grasping going on.

Daggers are shot by eyes, and since that will likely be the majority of expression going on, I think the rest of the face is safe being covered.

So many posts discussing this, so it is not directed at anyone in particular. But to clarify, my understanding is that LS is not being kept from video conferencing with her attorneys due to COVID-19, but because inmates on the ward where she is currently housed, are not given this "privilege" (for lack of a better word). Basically, she's in the psych ward (per CrimeOnline, I think). Inmates on the psych ward are not given video conferencing privileges. Per the court documents linked previously.

ETA (because I always think of something after I hit "post"): Her attorneys were told they could visit her in person but they don't want to do that due to COVID-19 (understandably, IMO).

I have to totally agree with the defense about this. The prosecution probably agrees too because a large percentage of communication is nonverbal communication.

Different studies have come up with different percentages. Most studies I have seen conclude that a significant part of communication is nonverbal.

So both the Defense and Prosecution probably would not want masks on anyone testifying because it would limit how the message comes across to the jurors.

Here is just one article of many on the subject.

"Albert Mehrabian, a pioneer researcher of body language in the 1950's, found that the total impact of a message is about 7 percent verbal (words only) and 38 percent vocal (including tone of voice, inflection, and other sounds) and 55 percent nonverbal."

You are too funny, Runswithscissorz!

I am surprised her attorneys have a problem with hiding facial expressions... I would think that would help their case if LS' facial expressions are not visible. o_O

During the Jodi Arias trial, it was fascinating to watch JA and her expressions as certain witnesses testified. We were able to make a lot of deductions about her from just watching her and her reactions.

You could tell when she disagreed with certain witnesses.
You could tell when she was fake crying and faked trying to be upset.

There was a lot of information she shared and she probably did not have a clue she was sharing it.

One of the more interesting things she shared was after she looked around the courtroom to see everyone getting upset at a particular photo, then she all of sudden became upset too. It was obviously a fake reaction because we got to see her look around first to see what people's reactions were before she even had her own reaction. Things like that are invaluable to a jury who is paying attention to a defendants behaviors and reactions and facial expressions during a trial.

Hold off your preliminary hearing countdown. LS's defense has filed a motion for continuation/postponing the hearing. Apparently they haven't been able to properly counsel with her or interview witnesses because of CoVid restrictions. o_O They're saying they've been denied video & phone access to her. She's asking to be released on bond saying that they can counsel her from "the safety of her home!" Is she serious??!! And while we're at it....what home?? I know the bond will be denied, but I also hope they stick to the original dates for the hearing!

https://www.courts.state.co.us/userfiles/file/Court_Probation/04th_Judicial_District/El_Paso/Stauch/D-10 Motion to Continue Preliminary Hearing_Redacted.pdf

Wonder how that witness was able to "go on record" with her defense as LS claimed in her interview last week?:rolleyes:

This request by LS by her defense was filed last Tues 5/12. I believe her phone interview with Crime Online was Wed 5/13. She's still spinning her web of lies!

Thanks for the news and the links! IMO the motion to delay will be granted but I doubt LS will be given bond due to Covid-19 issues. Colorado has begun the opening up phase so I don't see a convincing argument to allow her to post bond. MOO.

I agree there is no way she will be getting out on bond.

Courts across the country are dealing with the same COVID concerns and they just need to come up with common sense practical solutions. Releasing convicted prisoners or letting someone out on a much lower bond should not even be considered IMO.

If my local cigarette store can install a plexiglass shield in front of customers, then surely our court systems can arrange a solution that works for everyone without having to give someone a free ticket out of jail.

We are not doing live hearings yet - but the plexiglass solution is a wonderful one.

Also I sure wouldn't want the jurors to miss the determination in Landen's jawline when she vows to get justice for her baby boy.

Aw shucks thank you. And thanks to all who understand I was being facetious.

I bet that's what they do. Easy and inexpensive. Person can unmask once they're in there. Attorneys can social distance. Limit the number of onlookers, etc.

More concerning is her request to bond out of jail. So she can facetime with her attorneys in the comfort of her own "home." (Who would pay for this home?)

Attorneys for Letecia Stauch seeking to push back court, potentially allow for bond

Do we take this new request on behalf of LS as a sign she's miserable in jail? Scared maybe? CoVid-terrified?

I sure hope so.
