Question of the day: Would Stauch’s attorney submit sanity report by end of day today? Trial continues either way. ;)

My Medical Board doctors always used to advise drinking scotch and water to avoid a hangover. They said it was taught to first year medical students right off the bat. I quit drinking three years ago or I’d join ya. It’s gonna be a wild ride for sure. I’m wondering if she’s gonna call Eduardo as a witness. Geez, that woman is so delusional, I actually think she believes herself and is gonna pull a rabbit out of the hat to shock the judge and jury.

I just came across this article yesterday and I immediately thought I could just see LS doing this!

*Oh man. Wow. I dont even know what to say! Yep, you’re right. She is absolutely gonna use some hysterical outburst to further her torture of Landen. She’s so evil and manipulative. A user and a loser. I found this in my old notes. Did we ever figure out what medication Gannon was taking? Or was it a lie she used later to back up something else? She is very deliberate. I don’t know what the hell she’s doing but she seems to be playing cards in a chess game. Shooting marbles must be next if she can find hers.

On Jan. 27, Gannon’s stepmother, Letecia “Tecia” Stauch, told police the boy left his home between 3 and 4 p.m. to walk to a friend’s house. When he didn’t come home, Tecia said she called the sheriff and reported him as a runaway.

Gannon’s father Albert, an active-duty Army National Guardsman, flew home the following day from Oklahoma, where he had been training. Gannon’s biological mother, Landen Hiott, who lives in South Carolina, arrived soon afterward.

Three days later, the El Paso County Sherriff’s Office upgraded the search status from runaway to an endangered missing child. The reason for the change was due to the amount of time he was gone, his age, and medication he was taking at the time.

If she appears in orange, my understanding is that it's because it's her choice to do so. I think she is within her rights to wear civvies, and enter before the jury so they don't see any restraints. It helps to prevent prejudgements. However, I am not a lawyer, so if I am incorrect, please correct me.

Yes, this decision was by LS. I listened to the hearing, and even though Judge Werner asked her to reconsider "dressing out" for her trial, LS stated she did not think it would make any difference or have any effect.

She is using "Insanity" defense? I didn't see that anywhere in the videos she is in...especially the one from the neighbor's "Ring" video.

While it is hard to understand that someone "sane" can kill a child...she is not insane. Narcissistic and anti social, yes. Insane, no.

Yeah, she's going with "not guilty by reason of insanity".

Snipped: she later changed her plea to not guilty by reason of insanity

We are all biting at the bit waiting for this case to get fired up and with LS jumping on the insanity train, betting trial antics will follow.

Agreed! As I asked earlier, what evidence can Letecia provide to show she was insane when she murdered Gannon?

As far as we know she wasn’t diagnosed with any mental health issues or seeing a mental health therapist when she killed him. Her attempts to cover the murder were well organized- can a person go insane then immediately recover?

I know it’s difficult to successfully get a NGRI verdict and IMO the best she could present is some sort of “heat of the moment” event but that’s not insanity. I don’t think the jury will buy what she’s selling. MOO

That guy with schizophrenia shot up the movie theater in Colorado, he was found "sane" at the time of the crime. If that guy didn't meet the bar for "Insanity", the bar is definitely high. I don't see LS to get this defense working, JMO.

She claimed she was diagnosed with something (redacted) in one of her rambling letters to the judge, but we don't know what it was or if it's even remotely connected to the condition/s she's going to be claiming were a part of the killing of Gannon. We also don't know if it was completely fabricated for the purposes of the letter. As we have seen over the course of this case so far, she has a habit of producing stories that have absolutely no basis in fact and are almost immediately disproven.

I don't think whatever it is will help her.

IIRC her Defense said their expert said LS suffers from something like “ disassociate disorder “ or something to that effect.

It’s redacted in this Motion by the State:

The correct term is 'dissociative disorder'. I think the defense is specifically claiming it is Dissociative Identity Disorder. (I am not a psych, but I have a dissociative disorder myself.)

https://www.mind.org.uk/information...nd-dissociative-disorders/about-dissociation/

However, we don't know that it was a dissociative disorder she claimed to have in her letter to the judge, since that censored the name of whatever condition she wrote.

"I disassociate myself from killing Gannon". Maybe, a multiple personality disorder? Not buying it. She left the jurisdiction, completely cognizant of the investigation at the time.

I am amazes that Gannon's body was recovered. She didn't spend much time on hiding the body. In Florida, especially.

Dissociative Identity Disorder has been the correct term since 1994. Dissociation presents itself in a number of conditions and situations, most linked to some form of trauma, either in childhood or adulthood.

I am also unconvinced based on what information we know so far, and my own personal experiences living with a dissociative disorder. I will be paying close attention to the supporting evidence and testimony the defense presents at trial.

Oh right, I forgot about that. Thanks for the link!

IMO the Google searches LS did prior to the murder sound like a pissed off stepmother who was jealous of Gannon’s bio mom and furious at her husband for not giving her enough attention. IOW not a mentally ill woman but rather a selfish woman who didn’t control her anger. MOO of course as a nonprofessional.

I will predict that this jury will have a finding of "Guilty", and beat the record for the Murdaugh trial, less than three hours.

If the jury is allowed to watch the candle wax video, it will take about an hour to deliberate and a half an hour for the final paperwork to stamp GUILTY on.
