What was SM's reasoning behind doing the interview with her back to the camera? ( besides control) tia

Rampant speculation to follow:

The 911 call seemed to happen pretty fast. Would most people call 911 if their 11yr old was an hour late? I would think that most people would assume that he was in a friend's basement, playing video games, and lost track of time. Especially when they didn't bother to find out which friend he was going to meet. In hindsight, you could say that the police should have rushed right over with sirens blaring. But I wonder if maybe the police didn't view this as a big emergency initially?

I guess there is now a question about who made the 911 call. The SM or a neighbor. It seems a little strange if it was the neighbor. Why would they call 911? It wasn't their child. I think someone speculated that the father asked the neighbor to call 911. Why would he ask the neighbor, and not his wife? Did he ask her, and she refused? Did he suspect that she had done something to Gannon immediately? Had the dad requested a divorce, and he thought she was capable of hurting Gannon to hurt the dad?

Here is my guess, based upon everything I have gleaned...

SM called her husband to say GS hadn't returned home at dark, which is his curfew. They both began calling around to friends and family, asking if they had seen him.

I think Dad called the neighbour, who also has kids who play with theirs, to ask if she had seen GS that afternoon.

I think SM called 911, but may not have been forceful in her belief he was endangered. More like she was concerned but thinks he is with friends playing video games and hasn't returned home yet.

I think the neighbour knew a lot more of the neighbourhood kids and parents and had more numbers to call. And when police had not responded after a couple of hours, she called 911 herself, saying she had called many friends and no one had spoken to GS all day. And they responded at this time. JMO MOO IMO

As others have said, I wish we knew more about the whereabouts of the other two kids on Monday. I might expect the 17 year old to be able to pull off a lie about seeing Gannon first thing Monday morning, but I don’t see a 9 year old pulling it off. Nor would I trust my life to a 9 year old sticking to the story and not blabbing or breaking down under scrutiny. We call my oldest “The Gazette” because he would happily spill every sordid detail to the first person who seemed interested.
Lol. "The gazette."

Is the youngest daughter 9? I thought she looked a lot younger in the picture. Plus, SM and BD have been married for 5 years, but i also thought that BD was also the BD of the youngest daughter. I wonder when Gannon's parents got divorced? I guess maybe this could explain the bad blood between the mothers.

Welcome to WS Springsmom...

I agree about young kids spilling secrets. I used to work in a school, and I learned way too much about some of the personal business of the families.......

Sadly, the only kids who didn't share openly were the scared abused kids, who were shut down from fear.:(

Good point. Now I’m not sure. I may be confusing his younger sister with 9 year old Chloe Peterson who was interviewed for a news segment about the neighborhood search. I will go back through this thread and the original one to see if I can confirm. Thanks.

Hi @Hazelnutty . Good to see you.
She reckoned she's receiving death threats and is the subject of a witch-hunt(yes) and she's pretending she is in fear of her life cos of these #deaththreats
(She'd been a bit of a scuffle with some police a few hrs earlier and it's possible she hadn't time to wash their blood off her clothes yet.. joke, kinda.
Or could be because she'd lost her favorite lipstick and didn't want to be seen in public without it...
Not sure if she'd had a few bevvies or chemicals in advance of it either.. we don't know with this one, she appeared in a hallucination ad we never got over it...from nowhere.

She didn’t have anything nice to say about anyone. Then calling her daughter over to be her alibi. I had such a yuck factor about that, she kept telling her daughter what to say. The girl had no clue what was expected of her. IMO

I'm pretty sure she made it. 6.55pm was given time. It was a tad early but was it a first report or was it really a 911?

At the PC he said dispatch recieved the call at around 6:55. He then went on to say they questioned the caller, who said he was last seen between 3:00 and 4:00.

He only mentioned one caller but I suppose there may have been two calls. I'm not sure why they would not have said that, though.

Imo

Did a journo not ask for confirmation that caller was SM and he confirmed it in his answer? I saw unverified reports that another call was made some time after that and I figured that would have been father's friend after father had been contacted by SM

I think they would hold that 2nd call close to the vest.

Where did the stepmom say they went hiking again? What day?

WHERE and WHEN did they go hiking?
IMO, I don’t think he came home from hiking.
-Phone is home
-Jacket is home
-Gannon not on any neighbor’s cameras for Monday.

There was a convenient text from Gannon to dad. But he didn’t say which friend? IMO, if Gannon sent the text he would have asked if he could go a certain friend’s house. If not, as a parent I would have texted back and asked whose house!

Don’t know what the google search was for and on what day, but was it after said HIKE?
Past tense verbiage by stepmom in response to Gannon.

Stepdaughter was clearly coached by mom on what to say as said in the backward’s interview.
Why is she and her husband not speaking? Does he not believe her?

It is my personal opinion that there may actually have been a name attached to the friend,a common enough name as it goes, and that the father did not recognise the name as one of his sons friends. However,it is also my personal opinion that there does happen to be someone in GS class/school with the same name(as I said it's a common enough name),but that this child with the same name has been interviewed and did not see it have any plans with Gannon.
It is definitely MOO that anyone could have sent a hypothetical text to AS with a generic name and got lucky.
ALL MOO not stated as fact or claiming to have read it anywhere.

I hope this makes sense?:)
