But from what I understand it was LE who gave the media the video and asked them not to show it.
It doesn't make much sense, though. Unless they shared the footage without realizing what was on it and then were alerted by the media. I'm not sure how they would have missed it.

Well they must have missed it when they sat and spent 7 hrs viewing same cctv footage, before neighbour reviewed it and found discrepancy.
If LE gave evidence to the media, the chain of evidence is irrevocably broken.
They should not even have mentioned it to media, in fact, it was given to them in good faith by Gannon's dad and his neighbor.
That presser gave us nothing.
Now, I'll understand and forgive if it's because they believe that by doing so would endanger his life. By the same premise, strategic leaking could also put him at risk if she handed him over to a criminal gang of some description.

They were trusted with evidence.
They gave it to the media and immediately launch into a diatribe against social media rumors... for the third time.
Grow a pair why don't they?
