I think the neighbor leaked the details to the media but I doubt it was approved by LE.

They usually don't want any details to be released in order to protect the investigation.

They won't even name any POI's or a suspect in this case.

There could be several involved for all we know.

If there's a breach, I put it on the media that leaked it, not the neighbor who wants only to help.

Yep. It hadn't snowed in a while and has been pretty warm/dry. When it's warm in January a lot of people go outdoors on hikes in CO.

We're a crazy breed here, right Zha? haha Especially if the post I read earlier was correct that she went to Garden of the Gods. It is ALWAYS packed. You couldn't drop off a kid there without someone noticing a child wandering around and needing help within a couple hours, and you definitely couldn't get enough privacy to hide a body or much evidence. For non-locals, envision how busy your neighborhood park might be on a nice day, and Garden of the Gods is probably like that or busier.

Even if she drove through areas without cell coverage, a picture would still emerge.

It wouldn’t be as specific as if she had continuous communication with cell towers, but it would give them a general idea (she went out of service here, and came back into service here).

I think they will find useful info from the cars gps. Even when not actively using the gps system, it can still track locations.

Phone pings, GPS, Commercial CCTV and Private Security Cameras are going to tell the tale.

For someone with "all those degrees", she's pretty stupid. However, she's a tough nut and she's not going to admit guilt. LE knows it too.

They are going to have to do mountains of Detective Work to put this woman behind bars. I know we think it's imminent but it may not be that way.

Unless there is a witness that cracks and tells all, it might take longer to get what we want.

I think part of it is, no matter how smart you are, it is actually fairly hard to get away with a major crime. There are a lot of cameras out there, and tech like phone pings, along with the fact that MOST people aren't inherently bad. We may learn the SM did something really bad, but unless you are a true psychopath/sociopath, the fear and adrenaline of what you've done is going to cause you to be anxious and make mistakes, or slip up on your story, or realize in the moment there is a factor you didn't consider. There is a reason we don't live in a society with more chaos than we do...because most people get caught for their crimes.

This is what I think. When the Sgt was talking to the female reporter, it seemed like, IMO, that multiple news stations had the information and ONE of them decided to leak it. And once it was out there the other ones went ahead with there story. When I get done cooking I'll go back and listen to them. But I'm pretty sure she thanked that reporter for not releasing the info.

She might be able to but I doubt she would be willing to.

Although as far as I know she hasn't made any more statements since her interview and there has been no word about her since.

I wonder if she has been interviewed by LE.

Well, LE said they asked that the footage not be released.

Maybe he thought it was ok since he described what was in the video but didn't show it.

Well they must have missed it when they sat and spent 7 hrs viewing same cctv footage, before neighbour reviewed it and found discrepancy.
If LE gave evidence to the media, the chain of evidence is irrevocably broken.
They should not even have mentioned it to media, in fact, it was given to them in good faith by Gannon's dad and his neighbor.
That presser gave us nothing.
Now, I'll understand and forgive if it's because they believe that by doing so would endanger his life. By the same premise, strategic leaking could also put him at risk if she handed him over to a criminal gang of some description.
I'm so old and I'm so tired of analyzing nothing burgers.
They were trusted with evidence.
They gave it to the media and immediately launch into a diatribe against social media rumors... for the third time.
Grow a pair why don't they?
Tipline and tip email is out there for a full week.
Last week was time to request cctv footage from local people, not 8 days later.

See, I could understand that happening but why wouldn't she just say that? I think that's why people think she's behaving suspiciously. She purposefully did not say anything about this car ride and she also made it pretty clear that they were in the house and he walked to the friend's house. That would have been on surveillance, too. But it wasn't. Only this car ride that she just so happened not to mention. It shows major signs of deception... so she's not to be trusted, IMO.
