She backed in when she returned as well. And seemed obsessed with getting it parked right. She kept moving up and backing in again.

Will be easy enough to look at older cctv footage to see if she moved back and forth while backing up regularly. I don't see anything out of the norm with that, i see people doing it all the time, What was suspicious is backing in before gannon got inside when he could have just walked to the car parked on the street.

My theory: the SM was involved in something where GS was expected to sleep / stay in the truck. It could have been a drug thing or a sex rendezvous or something similar. whatever it was GS had wandered off when SM returned to the truck. SM then returned home, then decided to tell the story that Gannon had run away from home vs wherever she was.

Oh my, this is a good theory. Gannon saw an opportunity to get away and ran. Where is he then? I can't imagine an 11 year old just giving up and dying of exposure, unless suicidal. I think he'd seek out help from a stranger, or store clerk, or someone. Unless abducted.

This morning, my gut's telling me SM knows right where he is.....and it's where she left him, somewhere within 2 hours drive from his home.

A wee bit of me still feels the SM could have passed Gannon to someone else, to hide him for some reason, out of spite, but I highly doubt it. Every other bit of my being screams that this young boy is dead, not sure how, or why, but that's it for me.

For me, it (SM) looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck......

I’ve wondered the same thing. Did she wake up that morning planning to harm him? Or was it something else, and she was worried about negligence. Was she drunk? High? I’ve followed many a cases in my lifetime and this one stumps me. I mean, literally, WTF did she do to/with him.
If she was high or drunk OR if he was to afraid of her reaction, he may not have let her know how badly he was feeling. She may not have had experience or compassion enough to respond sooner and his situation progressed to the critical stage before she responded BUT it doesn't explain where she took him and what she did with him.

Something that popped into my head was that upon her return, the repeat backing in and pulling out almost looks like the behavior of an intoxicated person. Also her hurried disorganized exit out of the car. Could be panic as well I suppose, but it reminded me of watching drunk people try to drive on cop shows etc.

I wouldn't read too much into her backing up skills and thinking she's drunk.

I'm a bad "backer upper" and the butt of many jokes and shaking heads when I have to back up. Trust me, totally sober, it would look much worse than SM backing up the truck had I been driving. LOL

For sake of discussion, what if Gannon was sick from appendicitis or some other intestinal condition like a strangulated hernia, that progressed to the critical stage, and she was taking him to an urgent care or walk in facility and he died in the back seat on the way. What could possibly be her motive to dispose of his body rather than continue on to the hospital? Did she think that she would be blamed in some way so seriously that she panicked and tried to cover it up?

I don't think so. I think she would be especially desperate to show it wasn't her fault. I would say the only reason to panic when he died and hide the body is because she abused him to the point of death.

I totally agree. I just can’t fathom putting any child in my car and not returning with them, on purpose.

Trying to catch up from last night (do you folks even sleep? ;) and I just wonder, where is the link from LE or MSM about anyone going to Petco on the Monday Gannon went missing? I know I've seen it mentioned in SM but I don't recall ever seeing it actually confirmed they ever went there. So, can someone clear that up for me? TIA
I don’t think it has been verified. I believe this is from social media only, per the grandmother.

Well, he looked fine'ish to me. Especially for a a kid home from school sick. Hopefully, we'll find out what happened in the next day or two if she can't explain the coming back without him.
I disagree. It looked like she was half-carrying, half-dragging him and using her body as a shield to try and keep him from view at the same time..JMHO

If she was smart enough not to take her phone with her, or Gannon's, on that fateful Monday trip, it might be worthwhile to still check her phone and GPS on other vehicles in the weeks preceding Gannon's disappearance.

If premeditated it could very well be that she was scoping out locations prior to Monday.

Also re backing up the truck - I wonder if she wasn't really supposed to be driving that truck. She might have taken pains to make sure it was backed up just right so that AS wouldn't notice she took it.

ETA: If she wasn't supposed to drive the truck (purely speculation on my part), why did she take the truck rather than her own vehicle? I think it is significant that she took the truck. Where, or where did she go that she needed a truck?

Whats interesting to me is at 1:30 in the video (short 6 min version), I think she spots the car coming and so she jumps in the drivers seat until the car passes and then immediately gets back out after car passes.

That tells me she wanted to avoid being seen by the passing car. I think that part alone tells me she was up to no good.

Surveillance video may show Gannon Stauch leaving with stepmom - KRDO

What we may not know is did this neighbor turn over his footage on Monday when it was first called in (not likely since the 911 call was later) - did he turn it over Tuesday or Wednesday or NOT AT ALL? Until he was bothered and stayed up to review it himself on this recent Sunday? This is what I’m going with - LE can ask for video but if it isn’t submitted timely or they have thousands of hours to go through (Mollie Tibbetts) it does take time - now regarding the press who leaked it / I have my own thoughts on that

Police reviewed his footage earlier in the week. They spent 7 hrs looking at it. (CNN link)
He reviewed it again last Saturday night, and he alerted BF first thing last Sunday morning. BF alerted police- course of investigation changed immediately.

she also appears to duck down as she heads back towards the house directly after

Has there been any mention of whether SM has friends or a group of friends that she socializes with or confides in. or even any family members out in Colorado or within a 2 hour radius? Or was she entirely alone except for her husband.
No mention that I've seen anywhere, about SM's group of friends or any kind of social life.

ETA: in MSM I mean. I'm sure there's plenty of chatter elsewhere, but nothing verified that I've seen.

i'm really intrigued now regards to the neighbor seemingly making a big point about how his cameras have really good sound. That camera is directly opposite the truck with no other vehicles obstructing. I wonder if he picked up some talking.
I have to suspect that the camera did pick up a partial conversation between Gannon and TS. Otherwise, there'd be no reason to mention how audio-sensitive his camera is.

One thing I noticed about the video is it seems to be all about other people's property than the owners property. The way the camera is angled it would not seem to offer much help in security aspects of the owners property. Perhaps it is by design of the total security cameras system this one camera offers a long range shot of street and adjoining property. Question I have though is how do we know this is the stepmom and boy? All I can get from the video is there are 2 people who entered the truck. This doesn't provide positive ID in my opinion. MOO.

Yup. I said the same thing. He gave very specific details about how good it is, and what it can pick up. He said it can even pick up garage doors opening

Well her husband or ex-husband recognised her and his son and so did the neighbor who knew them.
And she strode to the vehicle which she expertly maneuvered into her driveway and she had keys to open it and an ability to drive it and possibly was insured in it.
