Bingo. And not just the car, the EDGE of the car. A truck tailgate, sure, but that's not what she said. Why in the world would anyone sit on the edge of a car? And since they wouldn't, I think we can all think of more believable reasons someone's blood would be found on the edge of a car.

The “edge of the car” is like the side of the wall. Where is that exactly?

That's a good catch. So, she claims she had her phone with her. That's either a slip-up or it's true. If true, then she likely did leave her phone somewhere after she drove away (I'm guessing). Otherwise, LE would have a much narrower view of where to search

HOWEVER, let's say she left her phone on most of the time. It would probably show her driving all over Colorado Springs, stopping many times, mostly at stores.

Of course, we haven't seen that selfie (why doesn't she release it since she's so interested in doing her own PR?)

It needs metadata for the police to believe her.

This case is unique (to me) in its amazing, constant use of social media by a person who is clearly a POI, even if not yet named by LE. LS herself keeps us thinking of her as a POI, through her constant inconsistencies and lies in SM.

Right, because that metadata would show if the supposed "selfie" was taken while sitting in the driveway. Knowing LS got back out of the truck after Gannon got in the truck tells us she could've taken that selfie and then left the phone in the garage or house.

I am not sure what your are asking. But Gannon was alive the day before he disappeared. We see him the next day leave with his stepmom at 10:15am. He is never seen again.

Agreed! If there is no blood on that gate then YES it was written by her to explain why he wasn’t seen on security footage leaving front door.

I have just looked at the pictures of the Stauch / neighbours house and the angle the truck video was captured at. Even if he exited through the side gate I still think he would of been captured on camera. Especially if he was walking left out of his house. Not sure how much to the right it captured, like if he came out the garage.

Tbf narcissists actions don't always make sense to the rest of us. Especially stupid narcissists. Another case I've been following involves someone changing their disabled adopted child's birth certificate to 10 years older and abandoning her in a crappy apartment rather than just admit she couldn't cope and had changed her mind about adopting her. Basically she chose to commit a felony over just admitting she wasn't perfect.

I want to start my post by saying I am not taking sides in the slightest bit. If there is any side to be on it is Gannon's and praying him home. But, I feel like everyone here is just looking over her explanation of everything because you have already decided TS is guilty.

Here are a few things that I got her statement.

1. He cut his foot. Kids get hurt that is a part of growing up and he was bandaged up. Okay, then they take a hike on Saturday. I know that my kids will play down their injures when they want to go somewhere and so maybe he played down the injury to go hiking. Then comes Monday morning and it is hurting because he probably shouldn't have been walking on it too much. I know I thought he was walking slow to the truck maybe it was his foot hurting.
2. Going back and forth to the gate. I know from experience that when my husband gives my son something to take care of it is like a mission to him. He will make sure that his job is done to the best of his ability.
3. Selfie to Dad. I do the same thing. I send pictures of the kids to my husband at work so that he knows we are thinking of him.
4. She isn't in the home right now. If my kids went missing and I wasn't the one taking care of them I would not want to be in the room with the person that was watching over him whether that person was guilty of anything or not. I don't blame the mom for wanting to be in the home that will have all of the case information relayed to. I would want to be in the home that my son would be coming back to when he is found as well.

The one thing that I am not understanding comes to the end of the statement. TS states that LE has more details about the person and who sent them. I would like LE to explain that and if there is an individual that we need to be on the lookout for.

I wonder why TS is so adamant about talking about the gate. It seems like such an odd thing to dwell on.

The statement is bizarre. I don't really know how else to feel about it.

Maybe they keep their trash cans around the side of the house near the gate. If at any point anyone disposed of something that had blood on it (cleaning something inside the house? Cleaning the edge of the car?), maybe they found evidence to and from that area. JMO

I was saying that Kobe Bryant passed away the day before Gannon disappeared. Some people use headline grabbing news stories as opportunities to commit crimes in the hopes of sliding under the media’s radar. Sorry I didn’t make it clear.

Did Gannon Stauch have his cell phone with him when he went missing? I thought I had read somewhere online, in the reporting of this case, that GS had left his cell phone behind, at his home. Anyway, the only references to his cell phone I have seen more recently are about his fondness of taking selfies to send his father, Albert Stauch this mentioned in the most recent statement of GS' stepmother, Letecia Stauch, as well that much-mentioned quote by GS of his question about whether his parents could track him if his cell phone was turned off. Also, has it ever been disclosed to whom GS sent that message with the question about the ability to be tracked if a cell phone is turned off?

GS's phone was at the home. Someone searched using GS's phone, not messaged anyone asking.

Just thinking out loud here... What part of the foot would drip blood if cut? My kids have gotten bottom-of-foot wounds before, but usually on the more calloused areas (heel, pads under toes - areas that touch the ground). In my experience those areas don't bleed a lot, maybe a little, but not enough to leave a trail. And if it were that bad they certainly wouldn't be eager to go "check" the gate multiple times. So, what part of a foot bleeds a lot? And if it's bleeding that badly wouldn't it warrant stitches?The top of a foot might bleed more, but how on earth would that happen? Maybe he kicked something with a blade and the blade cut into the end of the his toe? I'm just trying to figure out what precise scenario she was thinking of when she came up with this story. MOO

Also, why would anyone carry the gate key around? Keys to gates, outside toy boxes, shed are all kept on a hook in our house for any member of the family to access. No one is "in charge" of those keys. Good grief.

I think there's a real possibility she didn't harm him or directly cause his disappearance at all, but is very narcissistic and trying to cover for something else that could embarrass her or expose her to criminal liability - something like an affair or drug use.

I have tried to go where you are going. What leads you to this position? Are you thinking she could be charged with criminal neglect? This is also so much bigger than an affair, so are you thinking it started as an affair cover-up and went south? Drugs or an affair coincidental with a disappearance feels to unlikely to me. Can you expand on your thinking?

IMO I think she wants to prove that Gannon left through that gate of his own accord. Why would she want to prove that? Because maybe there was blood evidence on or around the gate. If he had the only key, that means she didn't hurt him and take him through that gate - no way, 'he has the only key!' read with sarcasm please

Or maybe to explain why there’s no footage of him leaving the house on foot. “Oh, THAT! Well I can explain. He must’ve went out the back gate.” “But ma’am that gate has a lock on it. We saw it was locked.”

“Oh, yeshhh, uh...well the thing is I have him the key because he wanted to feel important. Oh and he kept going to the gate that weekend to check! So he must’ve used the key to get out that way!”

I agree. And she's the one that made it so. I feel so sad for him. I feel like he had a very difficult existence. Poor boy, my heart breaks. There are some real monsters in this world.
