I’ve read about 3 articles so far in this case and there’s no mention of the victim’s father. I’m trying to get an understanding of the family/living situation. Was the victim living with her alone?
He was working out of town.

I think we had a good preview of how the jury pool understands and/or feels about an NGRI defense. IMO, LS will not be given a pass. Jurors selected will hear the experts but unlike other jurisdictions, in Colorado, the burden rests on the prosecution to prove beyond reasonable doubt that LS was not insane when she murdered Gannon.
Yes, I'm just always Leary when it comes to a jury.i don't think there's a hope in hell that she gets ngri and to be honest the way I understand it she's not saying she didn't do she's saying she was insane during the murder. She's not insane she's evil with a sprinkling of mental health conditions but not insane. Jmoo

So all of a sudden Leticia wants a Bench Trial? I’m seeing deja vu!!!

I guess she doesn’t like her odds. Oh well, too bad, so sad!

Such a piece of work.

I would have changed the analogy of circumstanstial evidence to involve a jar of peanut butter.

It feels like it's been forever since all this happened, and here we are less than 45 minutes away from the opening statement in this vile witch's trial. I'm glad, but my heart is also so dang heavy. Most of us know some gruesome details of what this monster did to Gannon but we're about to hear more, I suppose. Bracing myself, and keeping Gannon's loved ones in prayer for sure.

She requested to waive a Jury trial when she changed her plea back in February 2022.
I guess Defense finally got the Judge to rule on it today.

She had requested a bench trial in February 2022 also. The state had to agree and declined to. (Response P-33 posted on court site 12/09/22) I'm sure her attorneys didn't expect the renewed motion to be granted today but may have wanted to preserve the record.

I have placed my opened jar of Peanut Butter on my desk, in hopes that it will transfer to a certain defendant the hoo-doo heebie jeebies through Webex.

:p

I don’t think I’ve ever followed a case where ALL OF US feel the same about a defendant.

There’s strength in numbers.

I’m dreading the Prosecution’s Opening Statement.

In solidarity, open jar of Skippy at my side.

I’m thinking of Gannon and his family right now. No parents should have to hear what they’re about to hear. May they find the strength to endure

It’s not going to be good.

I’m holding Gannon’s family and friend’s in my heart.

I just can’t imagine.
