Tuesday marked the first time that the findings of the second sanity evaluation had been revealed. The woman conducting the evaluation — Dr. Lewis — is a former clinical professor of psychiatry at Yale University, the author of several books on the topic of the insanity plea and the subject of the documentary “Crazy, Not Insane.”

The documentary outlines Lewis’ work with notorious killers such as Ted Bundy, Arthur Shawcross, John Allen Muhammed and many others.

Lewis is expected to testify at some point during the trial.

How is the prosecution going to attempt to prove LS is not insane? Are they given the same access to here as Dr Lewis had, to interview her for over 14 hours, look at all of her medical records, etc etc?

I am anticipating another courtroom " Battle of the Psych Docs".
(Last one that I watched off the top of my head was the Johnny Depp trial.) It really comes down to who is more relatable, and from what I have been reading about Dr Lewis, there might be some issues with her from the start.

Well, if Dr Lewis is even half as bad on the stand as AH professional witness, then LS goose is more than cooked! JMO

Not arguing for LS, but I can sort of see being in a psychotic state, going crazy with anger and frustration. And then, coming out of it, and realizing that she lost control, went crazy, and is now frantic to repair the situation.

That being said, I can understand it, but if I was a juror, I would have no problem with rejecting the NGRI finding. If she can go psycho and kill a child, she needs to be incarcerated.
I don’t think thats real psychosis, that’s just being really upset. Did she have a break from reality? Did she think Gannon was an invading Martian bodysnatcher, or hear voices from God telling her she had to kill Gannon to prevent the Apocalypse?

On a lighter note, apparently the handbag had an old school telephone attached to the handle!.

MOO. Speculation as no link.

When a doctor is hired by a defense team who want to go with a NGRI plea, what are the chances the doctor will find the patient was sane? IYKWIM.

Oh man, Laina's teacher has just been excused from jury duty :(

Judge sounds kind of weary today. This is a painstaking process.

This pool of jurors seems harder to deal with than yesterday's group imo. One of the first ones to answer him seemed quite attitudey to me.

Oh my heart, listening to the prosecutor talk about how Gannon fought for his life.
I hope the other inmates find a way to make her life torture for every day she spends in prison.

That person should get dismissed just based on attitude. JMO

For all of that -- I hope this dandy handbag popped out hot buttermilk pancakes with a compost button when breakfast was finished! :D
Btw, if she comes up again, I listened to a rebroadcast last night and this was potential juror #31.

Yes, once the defense entered NGRI, LS's medical records were no longer protected and available.

Doctors (two) from the Colorado State Hospital evaluated LS and opined LS was feigning DID. Dr. Lewis evaluated the reports by the state's doctors prior to doing her own evaluation which I believe was done over the phone. Two doctors from the state hospital are on the witness list and will be testifying at the end of the trial.

I'm unable to listen; have there been descriptions of LS? I read here yesterday she was wearing dress pants and button down shirt? So I guess she decided to wear street clothes after all...any descriptions of her demeanor etc.?
