So the Alaska sex harassment claim is finally confirmed. That was a rumor before. Iirc.

Can someone please remind me why Al filed for custody?

I am back at the El Paso County Courthouse for the Letecia Stauch trial, where we are expecting the prosecution to call its first witness shortly. I'll provide updates here for the @csgazette as the day progresses.

Prosecution's first witness is Gannon's father, Al Stauch.

It's been an emotional start to Al Stauch's testimony, fighting tears talking about his son to District Attorney Michael Allen.

Al Stauch talked with Allen about how Gannon was born four months early at just over one pound, how Gannon enjoyed playing video games – his favorite was the Mario games– and how Gannon aspired to be a Youtuber one day.

During his testimony, Al Stauch stated he became suspicious when he called Gannon’s friends and none of them said they had seen him. And when Letecia Stauch picked up her husband from the Colorado Springs Airport, Al Stauch said he thought it was weird how she needed a rental car

Also went on to say he felt Gannon "had love in his heart" for Letecia Stauch.

Claims from Al Stauch over Letecia Stauch being "manipulative" have sparked a series of objections from defense attorney Josh Tolini regarding those claims being "speculative.”

Judge Gregory Werner, after dismissing the jury, allowed for Al Stauch to testify to the fact that he believed Letecia Stauch was manipulative.

Edited to included a few more tweets.

It’s so hard… I was on the stand once and did the same.
I've been on the stand once. I was 17, and I had to testify in an assault case against my grandmother (that turned into an assault case against me, when I tried to intervene).
It was absolutely surreal, that's for sure.

I don't know Al Stauch but I think he's doing an excellent job on the stand, given the circumstances.

Is it weird that I understand the viewpoint from both sides, here?

This is going to be an interesting segment when they come back. They need to be careful coaching Al here. This could be the first big moment in the insanity piece.

Been waiting a long time for that confirmation. I very much doubt it's the last thing we get confirmed today!.
Oh, the screenshots I have saved....

Boom, prior acts of her manipulation and things she did directly to Al which influenced his move can come into evidence. The Defense opened that door with the NGRI claim.

ETA: The State will need to be careful not to paint the defendant too crazy. Does that make sense? Yes, she's manipulative and yes, she claimed sexual assault from someone(s) in Al's former company, but that doesn't make her insane. She's an evil liar and manipulator, just not insane.

Al wont be allowed to say she manipulated him, but he can say he felt manipulated.

It looks like one of the defense attorneys is watching the beast like a hawk.

And call me nutty, but I swear the beast is mouthing words to Al or someone.

She is a demon.

Her eyes are truly scary to me.

I suspect you'll need to clarify what you mean when you say you understand the viewpoint from both sides.

I understand the objection and why they were pushing hard for it. This is going to be the first move by the prosecution to show what a b**** LS is that leads to her not being insane - just manipulative. Since the first go at is being allowed, the prosecution now has a lane to prove she is not insane moving forward.

No I totally get what you're saying, I had to go edit my post above to explain what I was meaning as well.

She is a liar, a manipulator, evil but not insane.

Thank you for clarifying. In answer to your question, no, it's not weird :)

What was weird, and downright creepy, was her and her lawyers laughing it up as they walked out for the break.

Laughing. Smiling. Not just her, but also her lawyers.
