I'm watching on Law and Crime and haven't seen anything much that's gruesome. However, the testimony is painful to listen to - and tedious, too, as we already know what she did.

The next witness to be called to the stand is Alyssa Berriesford, a crime scene investigator with the Metro Crime Lab. She’s testifying as an expert in blood stain pattern analysis.

Berriesford analyzed the blood stains in Gannon’s bedroom on the walls, baseboard and floor area. “There was something dynamic that happened there, more than just a single event that happened in that room,” said Berriesford.


Berriesford added, “To have blood at that scale... there has to be some movement in that scene… a bloody object being swung was present in that room.” She said what happened in Gannon’s bedroom was “violent.”

Jurors are now seeing photos of blood stains that Berriesford analyzed. Berriesford is describing a photo of the wall in Gannon’s bedroom with blood stains going in different directions. “That tells me that there’s probably more that one event happening to produce these stains.”

Berriesford said based on her analysis, the blood was cleaned up. Some stains were blurred, not well-defined or altered in some way.

During cross examination, Berrriesford testified saying multiple events in this case indicated that there were blunt force impacts in different mechanisms, and the blood stains were indicative of a gunshot, blunt force injury and sharp force injury.

The murder trial for #LeteciaStauch is in recess until 1:30.

I think it's referring to the fact that some of the detectives and CSIs that worked this case aren't LE any more, and some of them did have to open the packages. I imagine to preserve chain of custody, an active LE had to reseal the evidence.

HH said her Aunt said something about insurance on the first rental van.

If LS was telling her Aunt that she was thinking of moving to Texas, South Carolina or Florida, I can understand why the Aunt would have concerns if the rental was in her name and probably coming out of her pocketbook.

Perhaps the first van was from a local company,not a bigger chain like Budget that has drop off locations Nationwide and better rates.

I think initially the Aunt agreed to get the first van for them just to get their things from the house and had no idea LS was going to leave Colorado .

I think so too. T. probably convinced them that he was getting back with Landen or something, or that she was leaving him because Landen was there. They were probably used to and supportive of her tantrums, as long as not aimed at themselves.

So the aunt paid for the van, maybe thinking T. was moving things into storage and it went from there. Seems to me that T. was planning to run very early on.

I remember at the time that there was a news story (no link, all IMO) that T. had a "friend" in Florida who had invited her down there to golf. As if she were merely taking off on a vacation. We all speculated here about the possible existence of that friend, some thought it might be a man she met on the internet, others thought the person was completely made up. Since we've heard no more about it, I assume he (like so much in T's world) was made up.

Next witness is CSI Alyssa Berriesford

Expert in blood stain pattern analysis

Alyssa was requested to respond on Feb. 3rd, 2020 to the El Pomar Youth Sports Complex for a potential grave. It ended up being a pile of dirt. Then she was called to the Stauch house on Feb 5th, 2020

On Feb. 5th, she was focused on processing SE basement bedrooms and blood stains within the room.

She collected 10 swabs

"It definitely was not a static event, there was something dynamic that happened in there, more than just a single event in that room. "

“To have blood at that scale and in those types of patterns, there has to be some movement within that scene.”

"Something like this is a lot more for lack of a better word violent that I expected to see" - pointing to picture from bedroom scene

Points to four splatters with different “tails” showing different directions. Tells her there's probably more than one event happening to produce those stains

She's pointed to diluted blood stains or stains with blurred edges which show her there was cleaning done.

Court is taking lunch recess until 1:30 pm

Right but she had wanted to use the aunts van and was not permitted to per her aunt,so I want to know at this point what is her aunt thinking? It seems there was some issues she has to refuse T and her princesses butt.

The impression I got was that the aunt didn't want to pay for, or be responsible for, a truck driving back to NC. My assumption is that she thought they needed to hire a van in the short term to remove LS and HH belongings from the house, but she didn't realise the end goal was for LS and HH to return to NC, and when she was advised that was the case she said no, you will have to rent your own van for that.

I'm speculating though.

A whole child is missing right here ,so the move talk and the renting a second van is not appropriate. This is the point where they should have been asking her the questions that were so confusing to us ,instead it seems auntie is alarmed enough to worry about van insurance? She is moving and not helping find Gannon before she flee's? I really wanted to hear from Brenda.

IMO none of that is weird.

It seems apparent LS wasn't in search for Gannon mode or do anything for Gannon at least at that point. Her family saw her moving all of their (LS/HH + dogs) stuff out of the house. Making LS switch vans did nothing related to delaying anything for Gannon at that point, IMO.

Went and got a new van because the aunt didn't want to pay for it while they were gone, the insurance. Came back with a new van. LS kept changing the destination. Texas, Florida, Myrtle Beach.

The source was HH's testimony yesterday.

And it would be nice to think LS thought of someone besides herself, we know that Gannon's body WAS in that first van for a while, due to D, LS's brother's testimony. She protected her from nothing.

Actually isnt this when she moved the suitcase from Brenda's rented van to her own? I tend to think this is the part where she is thinking about and probably the 4th time she moved his body. The moving of everything was only so she could move him around easier. I want to hear more or how she lead her family around while she was moving an hiding that suitcase right in front of everyone the whole time.

I was surprised that Letecia's family members went rushing out to Colorado right after Gannon went missing. They were already there when she did that Jan. 29th interview. They were there thinking she was being wrongly accused, and cared about her enough to rush to her side. That's of interest to me, and I found it surprising. What do you make of that?​

Well, considering Aunt Brenda is still on LS's side (or at least was when she cut HH off financially), they are probably the type of family who stick up for each other even if they know it is wrong. At that point, they probably thought she was totally innocent and wanted to give her emotional support. I know my mom would rush to me if I was states away and one of my kids came up missing - no matter what she thought might have happened.

Seriously, who would have ever expected an innocent person to leave the state before LS's missing stepson was found? I think the family came to support AS/LS and help look for Gannon. They were all fooled! MOO
