Questions for witness about LS's manipulation and deceptiveness during the call and other calls.

Now we're going to hear the direct call between LS and the witness.

LS asking where to start from. Starting from Monday.

Going to get a bike. (My eyes just rolled so hard they hurt.) Trade in sports equipment.

LS claims was going to leave Gannon at home, didn't because of hurting because of foot, burns, no mention of stomach problems. Brought his switch. No complaints from him of pain of sickness.

Now talking about him being up all night in the bathroom.

Left home around ten. Dunkin Donuts maybe for coffee, got gas, went to Petco on Nevada. Clarifies the Dunkin Donuts was on Mesa Ridge or Parkway. Gas was right across the street. Went to Petco, Gannon stayed in the car to play his Switch. Then went to look at bikes. Local craigslist for CS, bike listings. Didn't arrange to meet anybody, witness questions her about arrangements. LS pauses, now talking in a very slow, over enunciated "you must be stupid" voice. Getting annoyed at having to talk about this "this is not even relevant."

Had to head back because Little sis would be getting off the bus.

Now talking about having gone to Petco twice. May have went somewhere else and come back. Has run out of steam, struggling to come up with where she went. May have gone to a TJMax, isn't sure. Back to Petco. Headed home. Went inside. Gannon walks inside. LS was going to to work out, put headphones on until Little sis got home. Gannon went to his room, playing. was going to have a sleepover so moving furniture around (In story to AS, sleepover as going to be Sunday, not Monday.)

Heard something really loud, dogs barking, went downstairs, Gannon's door was locked. He was saying was trying to keep Little sis out, LS said Little sis wasn't even home yet. Talking about making memory boxes? IDK. Talking about Gannon being secretive about a box.

LS goes back upstairs. Garage was open, she might have closed it. Another loud noise. "Gannon, what are you doing?" Realised someone was in their home.

LS: "At first all I remembered was kinda what he looked like." "When I called the police, I thought Gannon was hiding."

Witness: "We kinda skipped a lot, there." Redirects her back to the narrative.

Guy was standing outside the storage room. Dark skinned, Hispanic maybe mixed. 5'7", couldn't hear if she said 108 or 180 lbs. LS clarifies "180lbs."

Close cut beard, arm tattoo, doesn't remember clothing. "I've had so many bad dreams'. Doesn't remember which arm the tattoo was on. Was coming out of storage room. Something about the alarm being off that I didn't catch. It's got very muffled, sorry.

Lol agent asks her to describe the guy who came into the house and Letecia starts stuttering to buy time. I suspect she wasn’t expecting to be asked for details. Seems like the description of an attacker would be remembered.

Does anyone care to join me in a drinking game where we drink every time there is a yada-yada-yada?

Edited to add: I'm watching the IckedMel feed and someone just suggested the exact same thing....lol

A few more minutes left of this call. Thankful! moo

Law and Crime does. It works pretty well, but the visuals are more limited than Recovery Addict's (plus the moderation in his chat is better). I go back and forth between them, but frankly, it's easier just to watch RA and read our lovely @iamshadow21's summaries here.
I'm watching the trial on L&C on YouTube. It's free but I read the posts here while listening.

Gannon and her were sitting in Gannon's room for an hour while this guy asked them questions. He was asking if there's any money in the house, etc.,

What did she really go to Petco for?
I think this is an interesting question. I think she was either stalling, waiting for him to lose consciousness from being drugged, or possibly the kitty litter theory presented here previously.

"And I had went there."

Brother appears to speak normal English, at least on the stand. I wouldn't usually point this out, but she's a Dr., you know.
For the record, can I also just say that her speech is not merely a product of where she grew up. I currently live in Myrtle Beach and was born and raised in a small town 20 minutes south of Robeson County. I certainly don't speak anything like this woman. I'm only pointing this out to defend my fellow South Carolinians. I promise we don't all sound like that. :p

Haha, I was thinking the exact same thing but I've already started drinking just trying to get through that 1hr phone call!

Right - because while the rest of the world knows that questions are going to be asked 1) when a child goes missing and 2) when rape is brought to the attention of LE as being involved in said disappearance, Letecia Stauch, Girl Genius, does not know this.

Letecia is the only adult in the world that doesn't know this.

I did think it strange that at one point (I think while waiting in the interview room after she finally goes to the police interview) she says, "I don't want to have any more dreams like this."

Concerning from the point of view of what the defense might make of that. OTOH, the defense does not seem to be capable of bringing an A game, thankfully.

IMO.

Now the man has one of their guns. She claims she thought he was going to rob them. Talking about where the guns were in the home. Talking about the babysitter they had while they went on the cruise. Something about hiding the guns in the storage room while the babysitter was there. A handgun. The big guns were upstairs.

Gannon was still in his room, door open, could see Gannon in his room. Don't remember what was said, she was yelling, Gannon yelling, spent ONE HOUR in Gannon's room being questioned about what they had, about random people she didn't know. Did they have a safe, money in the house. No. (Even though she said she kept cash in the kitchen for HH.) Thinks he had the wrong house/family because they hadn't lived there long.

Gone quiet, LS seems to be getting a charger for her phone.

Call ends.

Witness back on the stand.

LS apparently hung up and called AS.

Says LS's story seemed to be set up to explain her movements.

According to the witness, LS was going back to second story about intruder. Prosecution: How many stories have we heard now? Witness sighs, can't give a number.

Another phone call going to be played now.

Incredible restrain AS has shown. moo

Too bad she chose the wrong culprit for this insane story. Quincy (a real person) was actually in custody at the time, IIRC.

Because otherwise, this is SO believable.

(We need the EYEROLL emoji).

Yo, did she really tell Al ,she did not know what was wrong with him?
