jmo - Grusing is so calm and smooth. He reminds me of the FBI character Jack Crawford in the original Silence of the Lambs movie.

Recess until 9:00 am MT Monday, April 24

Have a wonderful Earth Day!

I love how she extends her words when she’s lying, and trying to figure out how to answer a question.

Disagree. Imo he's doing a decent job. But a different strategy may have been more fruitful. This whole thing is a waste of time. He's coaxing her to talk just like Al did. Not much different in my opinion.
BBM
I beg to differ. He is strategic. And knows his job down to a T. No pun intended. Lol!

She is going off on Tolini about something. moo

Exactly!! Wanted to see a bad cop approach much much much earlier. This "I'm your friend, will get you resources, we'll talk off camera"...same Al approach that let in a host of fake people and stupid stories.
I'm not that far into the interview yet, but...

She seems like the type to shut down/get angry immediately when confronted. I think they were going with the let her think she is the smartest person in the room and see if she slips up etc

I'm of the belief LS thought Gannon's body would NEVER be found after she tossed it off that bridge. There was no way she was going to give any sort of 'real' info during this interview no matter which direction it went (jmo)

Now if they had his body before the arrest....different story.

I have a terrible headache after listening to this for so long. I don’t know how you all or the jurors can sit through all of it everyday. Does anyone know how much longer the trial is expected to last?

Bruins playoff game 3 in a half hour so I’m going to need to pop half a bottle of Advil now.

I hope there’s not much more video interviews left. At least not where we have to listen to her voice a lot.

I missed this part. Could you give details? Thanks.
Grusing was saying things happen in the home. Al was gone, she was left behind, to do it all.

And T fired back. Good parent. Wanted to parent. In fact, it was because of her, Al had his kids....then indignation that Grusing would suggest parenting was any kind of a problem.

Her Google searches tell on her.

"Is he in a dumpster tell me that?" She won't. Claims she wouldn't know, since she didn't do anything to Gannon.

"Where did you last see him?" "I've already tried to help you." He's telling her she won't tell him because it's a memory she doesn't want to look at.

He's talking her through all the places blood was found. She's not telling him anything.

Next bit.

He's asking her again if she has had any mental health issues, if she's ever seen a therapist? Only saw one twice for teaching related stuff. She's echoing questions he's asking back at him. Asking her about being suicidal because of the google search, she says that wasn't for her herself, it was for a family member?

Next bit.

Showing LS alone in the room. Just sitting there calmly waiting for witness to return.

Witness returns. LS wants to know if HH got home. He confirms she did. Lists off houses and cars being searched under warrant of what I assume are family members because she stayed at those places.

He's telling her like it is. That they have more than they usually have for a conviction with no body. She doesn't understand why he's still asking her questions, then. He points out that his goal isn't for a conviction, it's to find Gannon.

He's asking her about the board. Telling her it was right where her Tiguan was. THE BOARD HAD HER DNA ON IT.

She's telling him 'all you had to do was ask'. Claiming she didn't get to drive the rental car.

He's pointing out she had her phone off. When she was driving around.

Now she's saying she just drove the Tiguan to 'meet friends'. Claims that they know all her friends. He tells her not up there.

Says that it's not proof of anything her DNA is on the board. Now is blaming 'the people in the house', the family, for putting the board there. Demanding if they checked the phones and GPS of those people.

Weekend break! *fireworks and cheering and streamers*

Jury is getting the long version of the 'don't do this' speech. Tells the about the weather, "I don't think it's going to be as nice a weekend as last weekend, but it's Colorado, just love it, embrace it."

Jury leaves.

Just doing a little housekeeping to do with the exhibits? It's a lot of the judge reading off numbers. Keep expecting someone in the court to shout, "BINGO!"

Weekend Break now. Jury being given lengthy instructions by the Judge first, and then dismissed for the weekend recess.

I saw her big yawn right in her attorney's face, but couldn't catch it in a photo. The doctor didn't even try to cover her mouth. lol

Next week: Looks like there will be psych testimony on Wednesday? Also witnesses coming from East Coast and one from Hawai'i. So it might move around a bit.

And that's it for this week!

Show of hands.
Who takes your child on a hike with a bleeding foot?

No one, except maybe a parent with a major personality disorder (I think the jury will know that doesn't count as insanity).

IMO.

Witness from Hawaii next week. Quite a distance to travel, unless someone is directly returning from vacation.

I’m guessing it might be a psych expert of some sort?

The prosecution then played portions of Grusing's interrogation of Stauch at the Myrtle Beach police department. He informed her that she was being arrested for murder. He gives her a sheet with listing her Miranda rights and has her sign and initial it.

So, Gannon was murdered, she asked. Grusing explained they can't have that conversation unless she's advised of her rights. Stauch says she has an attorney but the information is in her phone.

Letecia agrees to speak with Grusing. During the conversation tells him Gannon is alive and I can help you but I'm going to need someone who is going to help me. She said she needs protection for her family. He asks her how she knows Gannon is alive.

Letecia replies that she can't say 100 percent, but it leads back to being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Grusing explains that it's a crime to lie to investigators under federal law.

Later in the recording, Letecia explains how she knew that her calls with Al were being recorded. The things she said to him were out of anger, was hurt by him not wanting to work together.

Another part of the recording is played for the jury. Grusing asks Stauch if she's of sound mind, asks about any treatments for depression, anxiety. Stauch said she takes a prescription for anxiety. Talks about how she's been taking care of our kids for so long.

District Attorney Michael Allen asks Grusing why he'd question whether Stauch about being of sound mind. He explained he's spoke with the DA's office and was already thinking ahead to trial.

He asks about Letecia's statements explaining her behavior toward Al. It seemed to Grusing that she was trying to make Al come back to her. They discuss grievance mentality, if grievance can be a pathway to violence. There's an object from the defense.

Grusing has training as an FBI-profiler. Defense objected to him testifying as expert offering psychological opinion as opposed to as a criminal investigator. Objection was overruled.

I would have loved to see them walk away and lock her in a holding cell an hour into that sh**show. No way to spin, no way to casually talk about how she "loved" Gannon. All those hours of Al's conversations and they tried the same approach. He's a very effective agent, but may have produced more admissions if he had tried to be a d**k with a badge. JMO

I’m watching on Recovery Addict’s feed. They’ve made a reference twice that the camera showed the jury. Did anyone catch that?
I was watching and heard RA mention that. The camera is controlled by the judge, and only the judge. The judge has mistakenly shown the jury briefly a couple of times. His bad. ETA I have been watching RA feed throughout the trial. Never saw the jury.
