That got dramatic quick

I think Mohr is making the point I've opined since the beginning: mental illness/insanity isn't like a light switch that can be controlled which is clearly what LS demonstrated. LS began introducing medical and mental issues for the first time only when the competency eval was announced. What a coincidence! MOO

Plenty of objections from both sides during X-exam and redirect, and some jurors look plenty amused. Cook just objected to hearsay, and prosecutor Young was about to defend himself. Judge Werner: “Stop, both of you.”

Cook, to Werner: “Can you advise Mr. Young to not taunt me?”

Ha! DA just clarified that Letecia was in fact NOT eating her own feces! In response to defense attorney making sarcastic comment earlier.

Can’t make this up.

Where I've worked, all interactions between a psychologist/prisoner or a psychiatrist/prisoner must be documented by that care provider. A Clinical Psychologist is considered a clinician in many state systems (including CO, not sure about Kansas).

Psychiatrists are too few and far between in many states for them to be the only ones doing charting. At any rate, where I've worked, every single person who encounters a prisoner is noted down by someone, and every single person who works as a medical or psychological caregiver must make some notes. Many reasons. For one, the jail has to show that it is caring for these people, but also, that's just basic medical/psychological practice.

Are you saying it's odd for a psychologist to take notes? I can't imagine how they could do an assessment or build a treatment plan without notes. It's the very first thing they're taught to do in clinical settings - long before they are licensed.

I never said they only take notes. I just said that they rarely enter into psychotherapy with inmates. That's a long term process to which the clinical psychologist must ethically commit and that's hard to do in a jail setting.

IMO.
Third party for profit owners involved: different institutions, different procedures.

Way to be prepared with the attorney visit log. Prosecution 1, Defense 0

Oh, I didn't realize that the EPC Jail was third party/for profit (in terms of its employment of psychologists, I assume you mean). The whole jail isn't privatized, is it?

Have we figured out whether Dr Mohr had access to Stauch's medical records after she left that job? I would assume not. So I wonder if her notes are from memory or if she was enabled, through discovery, to see those records.

Dr. Mohr is confident she can spot things very quickly after being in her field for ten years. In other words, Dr. Mohr feels she is a professional able to spot psychological symptoms of all sorts quickly.

Mohr also noted during redirect that no other family member or other staff at the jail had ever reported dissociative behavior by #LeteciaStauch. Said it’s very common for family to be aware of, as well as report, those oddities.

The jail roster of attorney visits followed by the changes in her psyche after each one...

Letecia is certainly very happy with the doctor's response to the juror's question. imo

In his "don't don't make me stop this car" voice, Judge Werner put the fire out quickly!
no evil spirits allowed in his house!
(although I would have liked to see it run awhile)
Maybe now, jury out..

Well I don't know about the jury but I think that display from Mr Cook was embarrassing. He had nothing, he didn't ask anything of substance and as for the stomping his feet because Mr Young outsmarted him, yeah that was a new low.

The judge spoke to both of them like they were children and they deserved it.

Cook, granted more questioning, is disputing the prosecution’s jail document showing that no attorney visited #Stauch prior to Mohr’s first assessment on March 5 (when Stauch voluntarily brought up Florida). Cook says that log doesn’t include WebEx visits, implying he could …

… have told Stauch about Gannon’s body found in Florida ahead of Mohr’s assessment. That line of questioning has been cut off, as Judge Werner is dismissing the jury for the day.
