Now, Defense is up to question Dr. Torres. Asking her if Ms. Stauch was sent to the State Hospital she'd be taking up resources when there is such a shortage for mental health treatment there. Dr. Torres says determining things like that are not the role of the evaluator role she's in for this case.

Defense thinks the witness isn’t qualified to evaluate and diagnose DID? Another insult !

A reminder for the Friday crew that regardless of what the defense is implying, code switching is normal, is not DID, and not a dissociative process.

Everyone compartmentalises.

So, has the defense’s expert witness treated someone with DID in a clinical environment before? Is he trying to say only someone who has diagnosed it before is the only expert that can testify with credence?

After listening to the truckload of constant lies and stories from LS, in addition to how her lawyers are so often REACHING, rude, aimless and grasping at straws with the witnesses, I honestly don't think that even one juror is buying into the insanity defense. She's just an awful person, a selfish, manipulative liar who killed her stepson and then went to great lengths to not get caught and to avoid the consequences.

Yes, but this was not unexpected - at least to me - it's all they can do to imply that Dr Lewis is THE expert the jury need to rely on.

She also said pee-can for pecan so, there's that. :)
I guess maybe it's a regional thing? I've just never heard it pronounced that way.
Lol, my grandma too:) She also said BARette and ENvelope (she said the noun form as the verb form)

We're having our afternoon break early. Back at 3:20 with a video.

Is it just me or does the defense regularly go down unrelated wormholes and then use breaks to come up for air?

Judge, I'm off in the reeds. Can you help me out?

Huge thanks to everyone posting about the trial!

What’s the general consensus here with regard to the candle/fire? I really want to know more about this. Was there any testimony as to why there was a candle burning? Is it possible she tried to murder Gannon by starting a slow-burning fire?

I really wish the DP was on the table for this creature.

Dr. Torres confirms there's a high correlation of severe, often prolonged, childhood trauma, but not everybody who suffers from it develops disorders or dissociative disorder. Dr. Torres says different personality styles respond different, some may have an environment that helps them deal with trauma. Attachment has to be considered where trusting develops and lends to feeling secure. Where there's a detached start often attachment disorders form. Detachment disorders and styles would lead perhaps to Borderline or other personality disorders.

Touchy feely moment
from her attorney.

No, it isn't.

Like I said on Wednesday, she thinks DID is like wearing different hats, or roleplaying a series of characters like in Dungeons and Dragons. She has continuity of memory and experience. That has been consistent through all this video evidence.

Exactly! Dr Stauch is really an idiot.
