I don't care that she's old, I hope prosecution tears her to shreds

Lewis seems to have complete trust that her subjects are honest with her and takes everything they say at face value. Which, given her pool of subjects and field of interest, is absolutely baffling. I just don't understand it.

MOO

Why is she allowed to offer her opinion on what LS was thinking? None of the other witnesses were allowed to get away with that!.

Experts are allowed to give opinions.

  • #624
Omg she is starting with the false premise that T is smart.... and since her stories are Rudolph-Rudolph-riculous, she can't also be dumb, therefore....

My head hurts for Gannon's family.

This expert witness actually thinks LS is not stupid.

Credibility, out the window. Poof... completely gone.

I don't think LS has a below-average IQ, myself (and I do a lot of on-the-fly field estimation of IQ, which is later tested if someone is entered into the studies I'm recruiting for).

LS has an IQ above average but like most people with a mixed bag of PD's (including all the elements of ASPD), she herself thinks she's way smarter than everyone else.

LS thinks that talking really fast is a sign of intelligence (rather than an attempt to bamboozle). LS's Google searches show a very uneducated woman, given what she claims for herself. Which is different than IQ.

I'm fine with using the word "stupid" for uneducated people, but it's obviously not politically correct. One reason I love WS is that so many of you are clearly well above average in intelligence (and verbal IQ, as represented by the writing here on WS is well-studied). The logic, critical think and even the humor/sarcasm here is top notch.

IQ involves being able to interpret what others say (which LS does not do well). Verbal IQ is what's needed for actual academic work in most fields, and there, LS seems to be average for today's student population (at the middle-of-the-road institutions, like the one where I teach).

I think LS was capable of figuring out how to lease a car, rent a car, drive across country, etc. People with IQ's of 80 are less independent than LS. She's got to be around 100-110, IMO. That's not "very smart," that's average. But, unfortunately, many people in that group (esp those with NPD, BPD or ASPD) think they are smart than "most people." Let's not forget that by definition, half of people are at around100 and below in IQ. People with an IQ of 80-85 may often live independently and even be able to use a checking account. They often need help in avoiding scams or opening the checking account, though.

IMO.

When I said that this expert will tell anyone that they have DID, I meant it. She is the most gullible doctor I’ve ever known. She doesn’t even think that someone could possibly want to fake insanity to try and get out of a life sentence. She believes everything she’s told IMO. That doesn’t make her sound credible at all MOO.
Exactly what I'm thinking. This is unbelievable. I am blown away!

So do I! This has been her way for her entire career. Has nothing to do with her age and everything to do with her approach.

'I can recall my own thinking..'
Sure, Jan .
Probably spends her life admiring 'her own thinking'.

She's a film star, innit?

Like the Sheldon Cooper of psychiatry?
More like Pons and Fleischmann promoting the possibility of cold fusion. They couldn’t let it go even after other scientists failed to replicate their experiment.

View attachment 418968 In the meantime-- I made my own California Rolls just now. I rolled imitation Crab and thin Celery sticks in the middle and sprinkled Toasted Sesame Seeds on the outside. You have to add 1 tbs.+ of Rice Vinegar to the rice. I rolled it up in waxed paper and am chilling it before cutting it.

Oh-oh, she says Letecia's not stupid.
This woman has been fooled by Letecia
and Maria. Oh now, Edguardo. Mindless
descriptions that have happened to this child.
She can speak clearly and coherently, but she makes up such far-fetched stories. Dr. Lewis thought and thinks Letecia she doesn't know for sure what happened. Oh boy, Dr. Lewis got played.
Well this one she got right:

One thing I am slightly worried about here is that the jury have sat and heard everything that we have, and we have all at one point been bamboozled as to how she could be so stupid with all her stories and long tales. We have all sat there and thought man dis bish be crazy...
Now we have this highly credited woman (be it a gullible fool) sitting there and saying oh I think the same as you, all of the stories are so unbelievable it's laughable, BUT, in my expert opinion that means she is insane.

Y'know what I mean? I really really hope that the jury don't find Dr Lewis credible

Right?! She should be able to determine if someone is being truthful.

I'm so behind, I just wanted to say if I close my eyes and imagine Nancy Pelosi is talking it is AMAZING!

Lewis doesn't seem to remember important events surrounding Gannon's death that she should be opining on. I am also not hearing her diagnose MID.
