Taxi Driver??!!!
It seems to me that she would have a caretaker, maybe I'm wrong but I think she does need one, JMO

No doubt Dorothy is cuckoo for cocoa puffs. But when she said she didn't remember writing down "L called self maria as a child" it made me think maybe LS or lawyer snuck that note in there
Good point.

I hated my name as a kid (I still don't like it). Absolutely not unusual for kids to want to go by a different name - if that is even true in this case.

No disrespect intended but I think she may have dementia.
I'd suspect that, but I read articles about her and watched the documentary. It may be heightened by age, but she's been this way, from what I can tell, for most of her career.

MOO

When I was younger I wanted to be called Lisa instead of my actual name do I have DID?

When I was younger people called me Milhouse because I had glasses and the sidepart haircut and I encouraged it. Am I yellow skinned and do I have DID?

I wanted to be called Katie. Katie was also the name of an imaginary friend, as well as my actual best friend.
Apparently, I wasn't a very creative child. :D

So... for a diagnosis a doctor needs corroborating evidence, often coming from family and friends who can offer historical insight.

Now she's saying she didn't rely on that because family and friends might not always recognize the signs. Huh? Uh maybe if they have nothing to report, it's because they have no history of dissociation.

What a disorganized mess of a witness. She's all over the place. I bet her office looks like a bomb went of it. Books, papers, post-it notes, random pieces of paper tucked away here and there, etc, etc.
It does. I've seen the documentary.

Dr L, with her notes and anecdotes, seems to think the point of her being in court is to have an academic discussion about multiple identity disorder.

She has lost sight of providing evidence that LS is insane.

It’s a court of law, not a college classroom.

This is more cringey then Logan Roy's rap about his dad.

Prosecution needs to be nicer, though.

Don't give the jury a reason to be sympathetic to LS.
I don't think he's being mean at all.

Same here...I went by Katherine. Never killed anyone, though.
I wanted to be called Sabrina. I think I was just watching way too much Bewitched at the time.

My husband asked my son when he was four if he wanted a new name (he was in the act of adopting him and wanted to change his surname). My son didn’t understand and said: “Sure! I’m so tired of Robert…I want to be Chucky!”
