People of the State of Colorado v. Leticia Stauch - Jury Trial is Ongoing

7 mountain time
Didn’t the judge say if the jury was close to making a verdict he’d allow them to deliberate until 7PM? If so that’s a great sign that they’ve been given so late

I‘m afraid to move. I’ve been staring at my tv screen that says Courtroom 1 for hours. Thinking about those first few days Gannon was missing. Memories flood my mind. It seems so long ago. My hands are trembling as I type. I’ve been so afraid to post that I might seem like an emotional disaster like I’m doing now. My glasses keep slipping with slow tears falling. Gannon feels so close right now. Thank you all for joining me in my room as we’ve watched these many days. I feel like I know you all and have imagined what you might look like and we have a giant room of lovely humans coming together for a little boy, his mom, his dad and his little sister. I care for you all. Thank you for supporting and demanding justice for this little boy who believed he could fly. Gannon.

We don’t know if they are in agreement or not.

It’s a very serious decision and I choose to believe they are taking their responsibility very seriously.

After 7 weeks of not being able to talk about how they see things, not even with each other, maybe they just feel the need to talk it out amongst themselves.

I would be a little concerned about the optics if they only took 30 minutes ( if I was a Juror)

I wouldn’t want anyone to think I didn’t follow instructions to weigh and consider all the evidence.

This sounds kind of stupid as I type it lol.

Bottom line - I’m not worried that any of them are wanting to vote in favor of the Defense.

Exactly.

Imagine hearing about this, day after day, all the terrible details, and not being able to discuss it at all? I have great faith that they will reach a guilty verdict and she's going away for ever. I can't imagine not needing some time to process. That was a lot of horror.

If that jury is in agreement they would be delivering their verdict
Unless they want to hear from each other briefly before the final vote.

Which many juries want to do.

There's almost always some talk.

IMO.

I'm so dang nervous. I'm trying not to be and trying to think that they're just going over all the evidence that was presented. Less room for error the better. This is a slow painful process and my heart really goes out to Landen and the rest of Gannon's family. This must be excruciating for them....

According to "the expert" she just became insane while committing the murder...
She did not have a sudden psychosis though.
Jurors would have to disregard the blaring evidence that this started the night before with the candle and fire, which Prosecution stated it's possible she burned Gannon. She drugged Gannon. She drove around with a burned, sick child buying dog apparel. She didn't have a sudden psychosis. She got home from driving around and it was a decision to brutally murder that child. Knowing right from wrong, she immediately went into cover up and clean up mode. Not a sudden psychosis, IMO.

Her seething resentment started, at least, a week before. All those google searches reveal what was going on in her rational, sane but stupid mind. Then, she made up all those other perps. She tortured Gannon's father on the phone calls. A Juror would have to have some kind of sympathy for her made-up mental state.... and that is really hard for me to understand.

One more thing, there was no Maria.

All MOO.

Does the judge get the verdict ahead of time? If we see extra security being pulled into the room, does that indicate a NGRI?

  • #289
Past midnight now, here in the UK, so I'm going to have to retire for the night. Obviously this means a verdict will come in as soon as I've gone. #You can thank me later!

Don't forget that the jury also had to eat, and since the court is bringing in food, that might take a good chunk of time.

Gannon would have loved you for sure.

I think it's likely that extra security would be in place regardless

I agree. We've been able to talk to each other the entire time. Many of us have talked to people about the case who aren't on WS too. The jury hasn't done any of that. It doesn't surprise me they haven't announced they have a verdict.

Letecia really does have the psychopathic stare. Note, not the sociopathic stare. Big difference.
It’s eerie.

Yes, he does. The Court website allows 30 minutes for the Judge to review the verdict and to reconvene court. The Verdict will not be up on the Court website for 30 minutes after the Jury says they've decided, to allow for that.

Those of you on WebEx may indeed notice some activity from security in the courtroom (if it's broadcasting). I doubt they will call in extra security for the verdict (even if NGRI).

Remember, it would have to be unanimously NGRI and that ain't gonna happen. IMO.

So how much more time do they have? What time is it there now MT please? Just gone midnight here, I'm impatient for a change. I'm usually a very patient person

edit: Good night supporters. Sleep well.
