I feel like I'm gonna throw up.

Someone virtually hold my hand, I'm up at 5am, alone.
We are all here for each other. I am armed with a quart of ice cream and willing to share.

Did the judge not tell them to take any vote when they first went back? If this is true I think that the jurors are discussing evidence and testimony and exhibits. I am not at all worried that they are hung up. I think they are being thorough.
IMO, they have much respect for Judge Werner and not wanting to disappoint, took his advice literally!

They will return a guilty verdict but with proof, they gave all the medical evidence due consideration before rendering a decision.

They can't ever be accused of disrespecting mental illness as a defense. JMO

Read this later. We may have a Verdict!
I was taught that Bipolar I people who are experiencing mania/hypomania are more likely to wear hats (this was in the 1980's to early 2000's) whether a man or a woman, but especially in women. I spent quite a bit of grad school time counting hats...
MOO here and please don't take offense at my style of banter.

My reaction to you being taught that is.... you're kidding!!!!! Did you really find it to be true? I sure hope professionals are looking deeper than if someone is wearing a hat. British people seem to wear a lot of hats. Some people wear hats to cover their bad hair days. I wear hats to keep my hair out of my face. Gee, that is a rule that reminds me of when zodiac signs are said to look or dress a certain way.
I totally get why you would think HPD and ASPD were completely different..... snipped to reply Histrionic Personality Disorder
I appreciated your post, and your knowledge. I'm just not convinced HPD and ASPD are similar enough to blend them. What is a sticking point with me is that I connect the Antisocials diagnosis to include the key feature of being rule breaking, law breaking, and have notable conduct disorder in their history.

Granted I may not understand Histrionic traits or motives fully yet, but I see them as different than ASPD.

Also, though some ASPD may use charm, it may not be for the same motive. The Antisocial has no qualms about using charm or breaking rules, but the need seems different.

Correct me if I'm wrong here. The need to use charm and gain admiration and approval may be dominant in the Histrionic personality, so the motive is not the same. No where on that HPD list do I see the same features as the ones for ASPD as mentioned below.

The first symptom of antisocial personality disorder include repeatedly ignoring right and wrong.
  • Telling lies to take advantage of others.
  • Not being sensitive to or respectful of others.
  • Using charm or wit to manipulate others for personal gain or pleasure.
  • Having a sense of superiority and being extremely opinionated.
  • Having problems with the law, including criminal behavior.
  • Being hostile, aggressive, violent or threatening to others.
  • Feeling no guilt about harming others.
  • Doing dangerous things with no regard for the safety of self or others.
  • Being irresponsible and failing to fulfill work or financial responsibilities.
Adults with antisocial personality disorder usually show symptoms of conduct disorder before the age of 15. Symptoms of conduct disorder include serious, ongoing behavior problems, such as:
  • Aggression toward people and animals.
  • Destruction of property.
  • Lying and dishonesty.
  • Theft.
  • Serious violation of rules.
You know this already as you have extensive education, but this may help others see the differences. Here's what the Mayo Clinic considers key features of each personality disorder.
