This judge is my new hero. Total class!

I don't think I have ever had more respect for anyone in my life. He has been outstanding and hearing his sentencing comments, knowing how much attention he paid to every little detail, and that he had no doubt in the jury, is everything.

Re-listen to Judge Werner, it'll make you feel better. (For me, it will be a while before I let myself get involved in a missing child case - and to those of you who are able to do it all year round, here at WS, I am sending you energy, but these child cases just really get to me).

Iamshadow: take care of yourself. This murder affected hundreds of thousands of people (we were not at the epicenter, but we were all affected - and if today had not gone the way it did, I would have been devastated).

I am just now relaxing after listening on my commute and crying (took a long, rural way home, not freeway-listening material).

Bless you and all the others who helped us understand this trial and who prayed for Justice for Gannon.

Maybe later, once I've recovered a bit. I think I just need to remember how to breathe for a while.

He was an amazing Judge, we couldn't have done better. I'm assuming he was a prosecutor earlier in his career. He must have been something to see.

Again, I was at work all day today. However, JUSTICE FOR GANNON!!!! I am beyond thrilled to see this case through to the end.... What a freakin' time this has been.....

Press Conference-- Prosecution is bringing up the fact of DIVINE INTERVENTION in the fact Gannon was found under that bridge when it would not have been inspected for another two years otherwise. ​

I believe it would have been a request to the judge during the divorce proceedings. The husband can request that the ex wife is to be referred to by former name.

It's typically the wife that requests of the Court for her maiden name restored, not the husband, but this can't be forced on either party.

Change my name after divorce?

No. Both spouses are entitled to keep their married names after divorce. If you took your spouse's name, you may wish to reclaim your “maiden name,” after divorce, but your spouse cannot force you to do this.

I cannot believe, moron Cook, during sentencing, rocked in his chair.
I hope his actions, throughout this trial, will have a huge detrimental effect on his career.

But on what grounds would the (civil) claim be made?

Typically a civil suit results in a judgment that is oftentimes only worth the paper the judgment was written on.. JMO

Wrongful death. Just as Matt Hutchins did in the Rust shooting. Just as happens in other cases.

You really think that if the court ordered Letecia's name to be Letecia _______ (her choice or her birth certificate day) that it wouldn't happen? The court orders name changes on records quite frequently, IME.

It would be unusual, but it could happen. Some attorney would do it pro bono, I'd think. And if it were brought before this Judge, and LS failed to respond (which I predict is what would happen as she has no insurance and no funds to hire an attorney), then it would get done, IMO

I can't think of any grounds for this given LS and AS were legally married where she (legally) took his name.

During a divorce, a wife has to request her maiden name restored as a result of the divorce. To my knowledge, LS did not make this request. JMO

Then if I were Al, I’d seriously consider changing his own last name. The whole family - maybe to Gannon! I’d do anything to remove myself from any memory of that murderer-thang.

I was just thinking this same thing. Seeing that at the presser and when Al mentioned earlier that he was sorry to Landen earlier for the way Tee manipulated them and caused issues.
