Poor HH.
Answering to her mother until mother's arrest.
Now, thinking back what she went through, during Gannon's murder, the lies of mother, and traveling with the suitcase.
Poor kid.
This will always be with her.
Hope she receives professional help, and is around people who care for her.
In one of her socials, she mentioned recently finding a therapist she enjoys and setting some goals around caring for her mental health this year. MOO.

Doubt it would be Lewis!

Last I recall it was a therapist in tune with shopping being her default happy place.

Neither the judge nor the attorneys have any say on where Letecia Stauch ends up - the decision rests with Colorado Department of Corrections.

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (Court TV) — Now that Letecia Stauch has been convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison for the death of stepson Gannon Stauch, the next step is figuring out where she’ll do her time.

If she acts up in prison or at the facility where they work to see where she is a fit at, she will go to the what they call the Hole....it's solitary confinement. I'm not sure she'll be violent but she will try to manipulate

Gannon Stauch's parents told reporters on Tuesday that they were thankful the trial against Letecia Stauch had come to a close, and they expressed a desire to move forward with their lives more than three years after their son was murdered.

Jurors on Monday found Letecia Stauch guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and other charges for killing Gannon, her 11-year-old stepson, in their Lorson Ranch home in January 2020. After the jury returned its verdict, an El Paso County judge sentenced Letecia Stauch to serve life in prison.

Have any jurors said anything? Would love to hear from them.

Lori Vallow Daybell's case is coming to a close within the next couple of days. Verdict will be televised.

That case is close to home for me and I will be glad to see justice served in that one and hopefully justice served on Chad Daybell when his trial comes later.

Evil personified in both of them...just like in Leticia. It's so frightening to think they walk among us.

I was pretty sure I could see a double bow in the still photos taken outside the courthouse! My partner could see them, too.

No fear. They're in completely different states and she can't afford Lewis's rate per hour, not while studying nursing. And, to be frank, HH wouldn't be interesting enough for Lewis to take on as a patient, because she hasn't killed anybody.

In all honesty, I hope Lewis goes home, licks her wounds, and retires for good. Her views are antiquated and were always fringe, she was a disaster on the stand, and she's obviously physically frail and finds it difficult to get about these day. Sit at home, write your memoirs, play with your grandchildren (if you got 'em). Leave the courts alone.

For those interested, the part about Gannon starts at 0:58 or thereabouts.

In the criminal court system, while there are many notable differences between prosecutions in State District Court and being prosecuted in US District or the Federal Court system, one thing that remains the same is that the decision for the placement of the convicted respectfully rests with either the State Department of Corrections (DOC) or the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BPO).

For example, in the federal system, sentencing is not immediate upon conviction but is delayed subject to the Court receiving a presentence investigation report (PIR) by a probation officer to assist the Judge in determining an appropriate sentence. On the date of sentencing, a
Judge sentences a defendant “to the custody of the attorney general.

That means the person is being transferred from the judicial branch of government to the executive branch of government. The attorney general oversees the Bureau of Prisons, and the Bureau of Prisons has ultimate discretion on where a person serves the sentence.

Although a defendant may request a specific institution, and the judge may recommend a specific institution, the Bureau of Prisons is not bound to follow the judge’s recommendation.

In the case of LS, Judge Werner, a State District Court Judge, sentenced the defendant to the Department of Corrections (DOC) but rejected the defense's request to recommend LS be housed at the medical prison ward known as San Carlos.

As a convicted Colorado inmate, LS will leave the county jail for the Women's Department of Corrections Reception Facility in Denver where she will be evaluated, assessed, and assigned a security classification, and DOC will determine the facility that best matches her level of risk and other needs.

Although the idea of a recommendation by Judge Werner might have made LS feel better, it certainly wouldn't have helped her cause for preferred placement.

IME, Colorado isn't a state where the Court delays imposing the sentence subject to receipt of a presentencing investigation report (PIR) such as what happens in the federal court system, and therefore really has no legitimate basis to make a recommendation.

However, there are indeed some State Courts that delay the sentencing of newly convicted defendants for a PIR by probation including my recent experience in Iowa. But it's also not been my experience with an Iowa judge wanting to make a recommendation on an inmate's placement in DOC. JMO

I am so glad there was justice for Gannon and I love Judge Werner.

May Gannon's family have some sort of peace now..their lives will never be the same.

^For the rest of her natural life.

After that, I believe where LS ends up will be in the hands of a higher power. Then will come the ultimate justice.

"It's been a game to her," Bullard said. "I am Landon, Gannon's mom and that will never change."

Stauch asked the judge to strip Letecia of his last name before pushing for a sentence of life in prison. He also asked the judge to make her to spend one day in solitary confinement for each mile she drove his body from Colorado to Florida - which was more than a thousand miles.

Yes!

I didn't get to see the stream of yesterday's court proceedings until today, and I cried so hard! It's not easy to explain to those in my every-day life about the cases and people who touch my heart, but I know you all understand.
I felt such strength and love eminating from Gannon's family and community, it was beautiful! And it outshone the abyss surrounding that monster, with her deceit and devoid eyes.
I'm usually just a lurker, but I want to thank all of you for posting and researching and always caring! I am ever grateful for the WS community ❤
