Do they still think she is Lilian Demaris. Maria Henley from 1952 was recently added to namus and resembles the reconstruction more closely imo.
I also think she could be Mary Henley, but this revised height is three inches off Mary's height at least. This height also matches Lilian's recorded height of 5'4.

I think it’s possible her height could have been misremembered after she went missing. After all it’s been 61 years since she went missing. Also the height for the Jane doe is only an estimate. We’ve seen cases where the person was identified where the height estimate was off.

Also charley project and the Iowa cold case site list Lilian’s height as being 5’2” not 5’4”.

When I last spoke to the coroners office they felt strongly that she was Lilian Demaris.

Oh, sorry! I misremembered her height there.

Was there any specific reason, or was it because of a lack of matching reports? Lillian does seem to be the only MP case from the time that matches, other than Mary Henley.

I don't see any defining points to the match, other than physical description and timeline. There's seemingly nothing tying her to Colorado. Did Lillian have an overbite like Jane Doe? There's some similarities, but there's still room for doubt here.

Also, how certain are we that she was dumped in the landfill? The map of Dory Hill Cemetery, where her Find a Grave page claims she was buried, has numerous plots on it marked "Unidentified." I find it hard to believe that they could dump an unidentified woman in a landfill in the 1980s, considering they still had no clue who she was. It just seems to strange, considering she was likely laid to rest here in the first place.

I'm contacting NamUs about this, as I want to be sure her remains were truly dumped in the landfill.

I know that she was put in the landfill because I have spoken extensively with the investigating office. She was never buried. Her remains were stored in the Jefferson County Coroners Office. The graves marked unidentified in Dory cemetery are largely early settlers that had been moved, per the cemetery coordinator.

Also what makes them so sure she is Lilian Demaris other than the facial resemblance. I don’t see anything that connects her to Colorado. There’s seemingly no dna dentals or fingerprints that could make them sure they are the same.

I personally think Mary Henley is a more likely match.

I cant answer that, except for a family member believing Lillian owned a similar necklace. The only thing I can answer for certain is the fate of this Does remains. As I have said before, per the investigator, this case will *never have a positive ID*.

JMO, but the remains being dumped in the landfill without the coroner's knowledge is slightly fishy. It just makes no sense, considering this woman was the victim of murder, and a brutal one at that.

I believe Mary Henley to be the more likely match. She matches the sketch more IMO, and disappeared closer to Colorado. It seems like a stretch to say this woman has been "presumptively ID'd," as there are two viable matches here.

Also, do they know what happened to the other evidence? There could be something on them, even if it's highly unlikely. I'm not giving up on this case until every avenue has been investigated.

I wonder where the Find a Grave page got Dory Hill Cemetery from, if she was actually dumped in the landfill. Either way, NamUs should give more credibility to this explanation, as I've already emailed them about it.

I’m pretty sure that kind of jewelry was worn by a lot of women at the time though.

Feel free to call the coroners office and get the information first hand.

They did not say she’s been presumptively ID’d. They said this case will only ever have a presumptive ID. There is no way to make a positive ID. Nothing remains from Jane Doe. If you don’t believe me I really do encourage you to contact Gilpin County. They are more than happy to talk about this case. I’ve been in touch with them for years. I am not new to this case.

I'm not discounting your contact or their knowledge, I'm just trying to stay optimistic, and the situation is very strange, though it's true. Also, in your earlier posts it says they were made aware of Lillian DeMaris in the late-1980s, seemingly just after the remains were gone. I just find it bizarre, that's all.

Nothing remains from Jane Doe.
Did they tell you this, or did they just talk about the remains? I'll contact them. There's no harm if they're ok with talking about it.

I don’t know the fate of her personal effects. Her physical remains are in the landfill. Give them a call. You’ll want to talk to Zane Laubhan.

I'm hoping her personal items are in an evidence locker, kept safe. Based on their response of there being no hope, I unfortunately doubt it.
