APD Officer Michael Hawkins: "A police officer in plain clothes was choking on gas and said 'Go to Theater 9.'"

APD Officer Michael Hawkins said he entered Theater 9 through the main doors and went down the right aisle (if you are facing the movie screen.)

APD Officer Michael Hawkins describes finding a man with a heavy-caliber bullet wound: "Most of his head was gone."

APD Officer Michael Hawkins said he pushed two teen girls out the exit door, and noticed an assault rifle on the floor.

APD Officer Michael Hawkins said the movie was still playing when he entered the theater. Other officers were already inside, looking underneath the movie screen and heading out the backdoor of the theater.

APD Officer Michael Hawkins: A woman next to the man who had died on the floor, she had been shot in the calf, and a large part of her calf was missing... Officer Baker carried her out."

APD Officer Michael Hawkins: "Next I found a heavy-set teen on the floor... I could tell there was a bullet wound... and he whispered, 'Help me, I'm dying.'"

he took the 6 year old and ran out the front entrance of the theater........he became aware of her bleeding all over him, her bladder voided on him and became aware that she was probably gone...

he is choking up

laid her on the stretcher and probably realized then that she had probably died......paramedics looked at him, they transported her...

learned it was veronica

went back to theater........

transported a man w/bullet hole in chest to hospital......went quickly, could tell mr.. white was hurt badly, could talk a little bit....

APD Officer Michael Hawkins testified that a firefighters put a man (Michael White) who had been shot in the chest in the front seat of a patrol car. A teenager with a wounded lip was put in the backseat. "The firefighter told me I needed to get to the hospital quickly."

APD Sergeant Michael Hawkins: "A man asked me to help him help his wife... his face was covered in blood. As I looked closer I could see bright pieces of metal sticking out of his face."
