I think in some instances parents don't want to see/acknowledge "special" things about their kids. He was doing quite well in his school work-so I'm sure they grabbed on to that little tidbit and held on for everything. Sometimes you can't see what you don't want to see.

I don't know how I feel about his parents but I do object to the blame or partial blame being laid at his moms feet due to pregnancy & delivery---that just isn't fair to me---(unless she was a heavy duty drug/drinking problem--) I'm getting tired of throwing whatever at the wall and pray something hits---hoping that the jury sees thru it like we do--this is a pathetic defense--and it angers me! Not looking forward to an afternoon of Mr. King....

ITA -- and as for Mr. K -- he will have a heavy-hitter up there in Gur and I'm sure she will show up as being very top-notch, but he needs to be careful -- his home-run hitter (and I mean no disrespects towards Gur since it looks like she's earned it all through good hard work & being smart, etc.) is gonna be facing pitcher who has thrown lotsa no-hitters, I am sure. But we will prolly see Mr. K. strutting a bit & glowing. We'll have to see how long that lasts -- and if she is right, then on with the show. But let's just wait & see. I just fortified with some chocolate, so I'm ready....

I did not realize the Rachel Gur's husband is some sort of Brain imaging specialist..He testified in a Florida case during mitigating phase ( Sentencing phase of DP trial)..and FLA. Supreme Court kinda dismissed his rationale...LOL

I think you are on the money there..This husband and wife team are experts for hire..to parade their biased viewpoint to defend the worst of the worst..ALA~~ Damaged Brains caused their behaviour...Must give mitigations because of it...Problem is it's too narrowly researched to prove their particular opinion..NOT the other way around..Many people have mental Illness and never hurt anyone but themselves..

I'm not so sure I'm up to listening to Kind drools on and on in his Direct exam of Rachel Gur at all!!

I went back and edited my post! I read it back in horror! All my children are in the room making a huge noise and I got confused!

I meant to say the parents are victims too. Not JH. He isn't a victim!

Yeah---I was going for a completely different angle-----BUT that said she could sympathize with some of the victims that are marred by his injuries....

Was this the juror who had the issue with diarrhoea? I wonder if this is why she has the spinal implant. I saw a documentary once where a woman had such bad diarrhoea that the only thing that could control it was an implant in her back. Maybe this is the same thing. That might make it a private issue ......

I think something happened with a deputy in the courtroom, in relation to her back. It sounds like the deputy told the court that she was hanging on to walls as she walked and maybe thought she was drugged up. IMO

Seat 5: Juror 535 – White woman in 50s
This juror has a niece who was in the cafeteria during the 1999 Columbine High School shooting. Her sister – that niece’s mother – has called Holmes a coward. A store this juror used to manage is near the Century 16 theater, where Holmes opened fire in July 2012. This woman was once married to a police officer. After her divorce from that man, she said she ended up in a psychiatric ward, where she interacted with many individuals who suffered from mental illness. This woman has had a spinal infusion and uses a spinal stimulator, and the court said it will make accommodations for her. She said she would have to cancel a pre-planned trip to Disney World with her grandchildren, but other than that she claimed no hardship.
