I did a bit more digging - edited my post to add that proceeds going to mental health services.

I am still not sure how I feel about it. I may be way off base. (wouldn't be first, nor last, time!)

In the opening statement the prosecution went to a lot of trouble to show how JH hid things from his parents. (Finally watched part of the first day) Seems he kept his mouth shut in 10th grade when they brought him to therapy. I'm going to remind myself of how he made sure his family didn't know what he was truly thinking.....kick me if I go off on them!!!!

I missed opening arguments from both sides. I may go back and listen this weekend.

However, my DVR is VERY full and I need to remedy that before season finales next week!!!

sooooo how 'bout those yankees this year? :D

seriously though.....i know it's a loaded subject and everyone is bound to have a differing opinion.........

i do think the timing is a little "delicate" but i don't think the book is in poor taste.....every time a tragedy like this occurs, there are victims on both sides of the aisle, at least most times......and it may help prevent this from happening again, who knows.....

i do heartily appreciate that all proceeds will go to mental illness funding as it is MUCH needed in this country......it's a subject that is swept under the rug.....the stigma is felt even today and exists throughout the country regardless of race, gender, religion, or wealth........that needs to STOP......

opinions may differ here.........but our goal for justice is the same......thank you for making us aware of her book, it's something we all need to ponder, how we feel about it, what we think about ALL the issues connected to this trial.......

i, for one, thank you :seeya:

Interesting stuff happening in court...

The last witness was called back on stand...to present to Judge about his awards (Metal of Valor and others)

Spangler asked if she could discuss with her colleagues over the weekend.

Judge said "NOPE! You are the lawyer and if you want it on the record, now is the time!"

Woo..Judge just told the defense lawyer she needs to make the move now in regards to questions or objecting about the agents military awards etc. not consult with the team over the week end....good for the Judge!

  • #130
Prosecution says they are ahead of their scheduled 2 months. Defense says 1 month.

Judge says he is going to hold both sides to that!!!

Next Friday off again...no reason stated as to why.

I have been watching the ABC 7 feed. I am not having a lot of issues which I am glad for. I also enjoy the reporters or lawyers who come on during break to explain things or show the pictures again.

The Judge really keeps the court moving, making motions or decisions on time, no hiding or secrecy, every one is dressed decent or no special treatments for JH, or silliness. I am impressed.

Catching up.

I really like this judge. It is so nice to see a no-nonsense judge after
all the nonsense that was allowed in the Jodi Arias trial.

The judge in JA trial allowed so much crap in that at the end of the trial, it had to be shoveled out by the truckload along with JA herself. :)

I need to listen to them too. I've only read the highlights online and I've learned that a lot of what I find particularly interesting or insightful must not seem that way to everyone else (or at least not the reporters) lol.

You got that right if I ever hear Mistrial again I will explode. This Colorado Judge and Attorneys obviously have a great respect for the Justice system so far.
Too much accumulative verbiage from the defense in the Travis Alexander Murder Trial. RIP Travis.

I wonder if they'd allow JH to testify.. Highly doubt it but would be very interesting now he is (supposedly) medicated

Does anyone know what type meds he is on? (referring to that he is quite in his chair)

I know I can take a 0.5 MG Lorazepam and it makes me sleepy :) But, I am sure he is on some heavy duty drugs!

It all seems so planned and I am finding it very hard wrap my mind around that insanity caused this...

This is something that black people laugh about a lot! They laugh about how white people stand around, take video and wait to see what happens. Not them! They run first and ask questions later!

PS...this is in NO WAY meant as anything racist! It's just funny!

lol sorry to bump this from so far back but I did LOL and it is true.

I read here he is on Haldol - an antipsychotic medication

It is used in the treatment of schizophrenia, acute psychosis, mania, delirium, tics in Tourette syndrome, choreas, nausea and vomiting in palliative care, intractable hiccups, agitation and severe anxiety.[3][4] A long-acting formulation is used as an injection every four weeks in people with schizophrenia or related illnesses who either forget or refuse to take the oral form
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haloperidol

Not sure if it is a ploy or necessary. Not sure who could decide that. I just did a quick search to see if I could find a link to back up the claim he is on this medication. I came up with an article that had some information I hadn't read. It may be old news to y'all, but I still found it interesting...so I am sharing.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/cri...victims-recall-murder-spree-article-1.2203592

I still firmly believe - and it will take a lot of information to get me to not believe it - that he was essentially faking his insanity. I could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time) and of course, I don't matter. He just had too much knowledge based on his extended education on how one could/would act/react. IMO and all of that...
