"Police also found medications in his apartment, including ibuprofen, sedatives and the anti-anxiety drug clonazepam. They also found the antidepressant sertraline, the generic version of the antidepressant Zoloft."

This came from this article:

THANKS! I knew I had read the Zoloft thing. That "citrulline" thing just didn't sound right to me!!!

  • #422
Something I want to address...and see if someone knows one way or another for sure!

There was discussion about his medications earlier. One mentioned was "citrulline" - which is an amino acid used by bodybuilders (not saying only use, but this is the most common)

However, I am seeing some saying "Sertraline"

Which is actually Zoloft!!!!

I think they would sound similar/the same in pronunciation.

I am thinking this medication was actually Zoloft and not the amino acid.

Is there a way to verify this one way or another???

I saw no sertraline listed noted on those bottles?? but another med that starts with a "C" which may phonetically sound similar...I'm willing to guess that he actually took that script bottle (Zoloft generic med/Sertraline) with him when left his booby trapped apartment...JMOO

Here's the actual list gathered from JH's apartment~~

Interesting...Mr. Brauchler stating to Judge that we hope to finish by the 8 weeks...but to be fair, we have had short weeks.

Judge saying OK fine...but you can do this case in 8 weeks - I know the evidence and what you have to present - and 8 weeks is plenty of time. And if I have to, I will take control of this case!

  • #427
The judge is pretty insistent that they only have 8 weeks!

I think TheGoldPatrol was taking the pronunciation and then looking it up and posting what it was. That is my assumption anyway.

I would almost bet money on it that it is Zoloft - sertraline.

I think TheGoldPatrol was taking the pronunciation and then looking it up and posting what it was. That is my assumption anyway.

I would almost bet money on it that it is Zoloft - sertraline.

I guess we'll see my friend as Mental Heath experts are on tract for next week..including Dr. Fenton....Why wouldn't defence question the exhibit?? I've learned today can't always trust tweeter..But I thought I saw a screen capture..Maybe not..I'm mentally exhausted at time in this trial..Sorry 'bout that (Smack my head with wet noodle..LOL)

I think this could have been an accident. There are times when an online service is busy and you might click submit more than once and inadvertently make the same purchase more than once.

But they were done on 3 different dates...7/7, 7/13 and 7/17

Sorry bumping this from this morning but it's where I am right now..

My thought is that he had extra tickets in case he got locked out of the back door, he could get back in with the extra ticket(s).

Now that you have caught up and are back here... you still think that or has your mind changed based on what was learned from the Fandango rep... that the theater wasn't learned until the ticket had been purchased. If he was wanting multiple tickets, why do over 10 day period?

I'm not sure what you are referring to the theater wasn't learned until the ticket had been purchased. Are they saying the reason why he bought 3 tickets? Was it a Fandango messup? I kind of skimmed through a lot of the stuff today.

Anyway, if not then maybe it went like this..

A couple days after he bought his first ticket he may have thought.. hey what if I get locked out of the theater when I'm putting my gear on? I should buy another ticket. Then maybe a few days later he thought.. better get a backup, backup ticket. If he wanted to get back in if he got locked out he would need a fresh ticket to present.

lol I dunno just tossing possible reasons out there.

I think it went pretty much like this. Based on the testimony, jury questions and follow up questions. And my own theory added to the wonderfully smart posters here.

He purchased the tickets on 3 different dates - relying on memory here - 7/3, 7/13, 7/19 (though I may be way off...but something close)

Each time he got confirmation that his ticket was to House 8. He knew he was planning on House 9 to carry out his mass murder.

So he was trying to get a ticket with House 9 on it. Though it ends up it doesn't really matter...once you are in, you can go into any House.

But he wanted his plan to be perfect. He planned every single last detail...and not having the right movie ticket could have f'ed it all up!!! Sadly, that was not the outcome...

But none of that is really provable. Just supposition based on what we know. That being said, based on the jury questions, I believe this is what at least some of them are thinking. These jurors are really doing a fabulous job!

As far as him thinking "locked out"...not sure he would need extra tickets. He could just show his original ticket, right? I really have no idea - I haven't been to a movie theater basically in decades! (One movie in 2004)

  • #435
They rip your ticket when you enter the front doors. At least I think they still do. I honestly haven't gone to a movie in probably 3-4 years.

I think it's very possible he wanted a #9 ticket as well though because it was a huge premier movie. He may have thought that they would actually make sure you went in the proper theater and be checking tickets at the actual theater doors. (I remember this happening when I went to Titanic with my GF back in the olden days lol)

I still like my idea as well though! Just think how much of an idiot he would feel like if he's out there at his car putting his gear on and someone closed that exit door lol! I could just imagine the look on his stupid face sitting there with no way to get back in the theater.

They found prescription medication for sertraline, a generic version of Zoloft used to treat depression, panic disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder; and Clonazepam, usually prescribed to treat anxiety and panic attacks.

You can hear the 911 call here. You have to wait for the whole page to load then you will see the Soundcloud player.

It is truly awful listening to it. Made me sick to my stomach.

The sounds from that 911 call give me even more empathy for the victims in that theater. I feel traumatized just hearing that short clip while sitting safely at home. Can't imagine actually being there.
