the male defense atty doesn't stand when addressing the Judge---why are they like that????

I believe the defense team feel themselves to be special snowflakes.....far too special (in their own minds) to show respect for a mere judge....

  • #703
They are just rude! It seems they don't respect the judge.

I agree. They have consistently disobeyed his order to stand when objecting and stuff.

From past cases I have followed, it is a very bad idea to get on bad side of the judge because when the DT has something like a Special Request for a Delay or something, then the judge may say "NO" to them.

Its foolish of them to purposely disobey the judge.

It seems to be Ms Spengler who has an issue with being respectful. She just says "No" instead of "No your honour". It just rubs me up the wrong way.

Gloves and shoes were collected by JH doorway in his apartment.

Benitez is describing various photos of evidence collected in JH's living room: flashlight, bike, Batman mask, etc

Jury question: What did the black tanks contain? "They were pressurized tanks and I'm not sure."

Jury will now examine the evidence that was just introduced during Benitez's testimony

Today the postal employee testified that the package notebook was in was likely pre stamped. #Theatershooting Was it a preplanned defense

Yesterday notebook testimony was more important that you may think in #Theatershooting. It hits right at the mark of what is insanity or not

I keep getting interrupted by family......

The notebook is critical to both cases. If the #Theatershooting prosecutor can show it was sent to make an insanity defense up. Conviction

Jeffrey Evan Gold ‏@jeffgoldesq · 2m2 minutes ago
If defense can use the ramblings in the notebook to show how out of touch JH was then they may get the NGI judgement in #Theatershooting

Is that saying that the envelope was prestamped by the postal employee who he purchased it from? I find it highly suspect given that the stamps were scientists. Unless he specifically requested those at the time of purchase??

ETA - no. That isn't what happened. This employee just stated he bought a book of Forever stamps - but didn't remember the subject matter. Of course, it was the Scientists.

In pretrial hearing, US Postal Inspector testified the package (notebook) was dropped in mail after last pickup 7/19/12 #theatershooting

#theatershooting

Denver has imaging that would make easier to determine when a package was sent. REMINDER: Package postmarked from 7/12

Anyone know- How did LE know that a package was mailed to the doc on campus? I mean they were looking in the mailroom for it 2 days after the shooting...Who knew it was sent?

Andrea Yates planned her children's killing to.o as many others that are insane. My thoughts thus far is that JH suffered with MI at a very young age. Schizophrenia is a degenerative progressive disease and gets worse with age. I think he had a better handle on it as a youngster but as he got older and the disease progressed he lost control of it therefore starting to lose interest in school, was failing etc. loss of reality all signs. I think the law of defining insanity needs to be updated, amended as when that was written we did not know as much then as we do now about mental diseases. I personally know criminal attorneys that feel the same way.

Agree with your post 100% Whiteorchids. Criminal law is still in the dark ages when defining legal insanity.

I can only assume he told them about it...much like he told them about his booby trapped apartment.

And I have some feelings about that...but will let it all play out before I make a final judgement on it.

Jansen Young -- counts 68 and 126

GSW to torso, ran out back door, saw Holmes by the car, scaled wall and hid in cinderblock enclosure. When she heard police she yelled for help and they said they couldn’t do that at the moment. (they were in the middle of arresting and searching Holmes)
Count 68: Attempted Murder in the 1st degree after deliberation
Count 126: Attempted Murder in the 1st degree extreme indifference
