Agree with your post 100% Whiteorchids. Criminal law is still in the dark ages when defining legal insanity.

I still don't understand WHY the court/judicial system hasn't adopted the ability for juror's to declare "GUILTY BUT INSANE" which would place them into a mental hospital facility and IF deemed sane..then goes to prison to serve out the rest of his sentence. The way it is now..Not Guilty by reason of insanity means those who are malingering and gets away with it can miraculously become sane and be set free back into society.

The actually truly Insane, like say Andrea Yates..She will never get out from that mental Facility for the rest of her life..but someone like JH could easily act normal when it suits him and obviously has fooled a boatload of people throughout his life Since he says he's always been fascinated in Mass Killing since a young child..So He's could easily manipulate the system and get back out pretty quick if Insanity defence works here...

Sorry for ramble, but have been muddling this over in my head for many years :facepalm:

ETA - confused a bit about the married part - he is described as married father of two, but she said she was there with her boyfriend. No judgement, just a bit confused.

Coming down from ladder to type in a question here while listening to live stream

Prosecutor has asked again and again and again when the tickets were purchased. iirc he has asked of all the witnesses. I had thought that theater 9 was the second theater to be added of the 5 that were showing, but I haven't heard one person iirc that stated they purchased their tickets more than that day.

Just a :moo: about when that theater was opened for tickets perhaps. :dunno:

It seems to be Ms Spengler who has an issue with being respectful. She just says "No" instead of "No your honour". It just rubs me up the wrong way.

I bet this is a defense tactic....piss off the judge so he rules against you out of frustration.....then appeal based on "unfair"/ prejudice??

Jansen saw the canister fly and loud booms.

After the canister flew Jon grabbed Jansen and pulled her down under seats

Jansen heard Jon make 3 gurgling sounds. Wet stuff with chunks started drripping down on her.

Jansen explains the wet stuff running on her like a river of water. She still thought this was a prank.

Young sat up when the shooting stopped, looked over seats to make sure no one was still shooting. She began shaking Blunk.

She could see his face. His eyes were closed. He did not respond to shaking. She tried to lift him up "but I couldn't."

She tried to move him for 10-15 seconds, but he was too big. People were crawling, running. Thought she had to get help.

She decided not to run to the lobby because she was worried that #theatershooting gunman had gone there. Instead she fled thru bottom exit.

That's when she saw a man standing next to a white car. Standing by driver's side. Couldn't see any guns,

She looked for somewhere else to go. "I didn't think it was safe to run past him." She was scared.

She thought there was a gunman in the lobby and now the guy in the parking lot was "weirding me out."

OMG..She actually went out of the door that JH used to enter and exit..and saw him standing by his car!! Yikes!!
