BUT Maisie..the difference is YOU know it..recognize it and have venue's to get him appropriate help/support..In JH's case his behaviour's were excused/overlooked/enabled..NEVER questioned...Completely different set of circumstances Honey Bunny :tantrum: I'm positive parent's never ever entertained there were ANY problems....SMH :tantrum::shame:

Now thats a thing I really struggle with. How could his parents not know there was something wrong! I knew when my son was 2. And isn't his mother a nurse? Of course there are many different types of nursing but surely she must have sensed something.....

Hearing that A/C kick in every so often makes me smile knowing full well in Arizona..no such thing for inmate to jails nor prisons..LOL

I'm now finding JH being somewhat evasive in his answers..I actually appreciate that Dr Reid did his "Homework" BEFORE he talked with JH..so could address or ask followup questions on such things..KUDO's to Dr. Reid for his approach!!

I just caught up. Thanks everyone for the tweets.

Wow. Im getting same reaction as lot of others.

This is tough to listen/read through.

Just some initial thoughts of this.

First off, I think the doctor is very thorough and asking all the right questions.

I sense JH may be incapable of feeling true deep down emotions. He comes across callous to some of the deep questions. Like he gives short brief answers to some profound questions about family love and stuff. His answers tell me he may not feel emotions normally.

It would be interesting to hear from his sister or Mom and hear how they talk about him which I doubt we will get to hear.

Its also very eye opening to hear him say he has "regret" about the shooting. That is such a small word to use for something so major. It kind of points to his lack of feeling empathy and lack of understanding the impact of what he really did to others.

I also get a sense that he does not fully appreciate some of the things his family did for him like paying for his schooling and sending him to good school. He thanks them but doesnt come across how lucky he really was.

Anyway, just some initial thoughts about what we are hearing so far.
I could be way off base because only going by his answers.

I'm no expert, but all I gathered from that first session is that he is a sane, somewhat shy, guy who likes juice and cares mostly about himself and a tiny bit about his family. JMO
