What's odd about the dismemberment, usually a murderer who goes to that much trouble, do so to leave the body in vastly different areas or numerous dumpsters. They appear to have left this one, or several bags, in one immediate area.

The news has been stating that sadly, some of the remains have not been accounted for.

By that Marie do you mean not located.

So if you were a killer and had bagged the body parts, stop off the freeway at an orchard to get rid of them, would you leave all the bags in that orchard or drive down the road a bit and find other drop off spots?

I thought it was said the body was partially dismembered. This would be the main part then. Have we heard they found any other bags?

I wonder if they will wait to release the name until they have found all the parts? Probably, so the killer won't go back and retrieve them

PS: Can you tell I've been goin  this afternoon not being here

Me too, especially because I thought updates were supposed to be released around 1:30 or so today..and then nothing. It's frustrating.

This was interesting about Ted Bundy..I did not know this and I have lived in this area all my life...

Apparent Murder Victim Found in Tranquil Colorado Valley
June 14, 2009

Woman's Body Found in Canyon Creek, Colorado Off 1-70
Murder is not unknown in Garfield County, Colorado, but it is rare. Garfield County is located in the beautiful setting of what is commonly called the Aspen Valley, a collection of small towns, including Glenwood Springs, extending down valley from Aspen, the home of many of the rich and famous. One of the more famous serial killers of our time, Ted Bundy, was held in and escaped the Glenwood Springs jail on December 30, 1977, where he was being held for murders in Aspen and Vail, Colorado.

On Friday, June 12, 2009, at approximately 10:54 a.m., a body was found in an apple orchard in Canyon Creek, Colorado, on County Road 137, mere miles from the location in the Colorado River where Bundy years later confessed to dropping the body of one of his many victims. A teenage boy working in the orchard found the body "partially inside a black bag" according to some unconfirmed reports.

(not to be rude), but IMO Candace looks rather "busty". I doubt she would be mistaken as a prepubescent female. I wish they would release info about the tattoos.

Hi LL,

The body is suspected to be dismembered - may be difficult for the finder to tell. I heard they were also still looking for all the remains. :(

Best,

Melanie

That's right - not all the body parts have been found, nor has LE said that any more has been found. Local rumor is that the torso was not found, but that's just RUMOR. LE said they were continuing to look for any other body parts (not his exact words but his meaning).

Ok, so the killer could have (probably imho) took the Canyon Rd. exit off I-70 & East of Silt, drives a bit, hops out & tosses a bag off/down the side of the road & it rolls into the orchard. Then he turns his vehicle around and whips back up to the interstate - to look for more small town exits to dump more bags. Or continues down the road and tosses more bags before turning back.

If he's local (from the WS) then I think he continues down the road because he knows what's there and feels he can safely dump more bags. If he's just some random interstate serial killer then I think he hurry's back to the interstate because he's not real sure what or who will be on Canyon Rd. & he doesn't want to hang around more than the has to. The dump site is so close to the interstate that I find it hard to believe he's local - really there are a thousand more private and/or remote places to dump a body in CO. (unless he's one of the sk's that like to show off their work)

I don't know why no information about the tattoo's has been released, but I'm fairly certain that LE is trying to appear calm & quiet because the local communities are very upset & worried, some are verging on panicked.

I wish they would have been more specific about the tattoos.

I wish that too. I emailed several news outlets asking for more details on the tattoo's.

WHY isn't any news channel even rebuffing the chance this is NOT CW. They don't mention it, and no one seems to even know who CW is in Colorado. I've sent e-mail after e-mail, and I know many others have. Can't they come out and tell us NO it isn't CW.

I guess I'm miffed because they are asking for help - we're giving it, and nothing! Not even a press release.

Maybe they'll say something tomorrow.

How is the public supposed to help if they don't release any new information? They need to describe at least one of the tattoos. Even with just that information and nothing else I'm sure it wouldn't take long for a friend or relative of the victim to come forward.

I am amazed that they haven't described the tattoos, if they really need the public's help identifying her. Even a casual acquaintance -- someone who doesn't know this woman is missing -- might recall seeing specific tattoos.

I just thought of something, and really hope it's not true. but what if they aren't giving more info on the tattoos because LE does not know what they look like - as in they are missing because they're part of the mutilation and the missing body parts the Sheriff has mentioned.

That idea would assume that LE, etc. would be able to tell that any missing skin had been covering up tattoos.

As for whether it's CW, I doubt they'd confirm that until they had an id - wouldn't want to miss out on other tips by stating the body is probably CW or anyone else specific.

Or maybe LE has reason to believe she is a local and a more specific description isn't needed - asking for help would then be just a way to get locals talking.

:confused::confused::confused:

Search efforts and evidence collection were concluded on Sunday, June 14th, 2009 at approximately 6:30 p.m

That is most telling to me, not much else that's new in the update.
So they either have the entire body now, or there is more somewhere else-ugh!

If I read it right, the latest update on that pdf was from yesterday. Maybe they'll give out something more later today.

It is dated for yesterday, but we were all waiting around yesterday for that update and it never showed. So I'm guessing they posted it very late last night or early this morning. So it is the "newest" update.
