CO - Jessica Hernandez, 17, killed by police after LEO struck by stolen car

We don't know at which moment JH was shot due to conflicting stories - the pics on parked LE vehicles aren't speaking to me on that. Find it impossible to believe she accelerated and tried to squeeze between a wall and another vehicle, where there was no room to do so. Jmo.

3 shots can be shot in a split second. bambambam.
Sure. And if the car was beginning to pull away at 2-3mph it would not be moving to fast to hit. But a car that is slowing driving away does not present a life threatening danger.

She was trying to flee. Have you seen how very small the area was that she had to fit her car through?

Do we even know if that cop car was parked there when this went down?

YES, it was. That is why they say the cop was pinned. Otherwise she could have driven right past him down the middle of the street.
Also, it was reported that the cop called for back up and waited for the second vehicle before he approached the car.

Agreed, and if the car was moving "fast", he wouldn't have a broken leg. He would have two crushed legs. IMO

Link saying that car was parked there?

A car does not need to be going 2 to 3 mph to be hit by gunfire. Cops target practice with things moving much faster than that.

If I find that, will you agree that she was heading towards the cop when she began to flee? :wink:

What if you find out that she did, in fact, try to squeeze through that very small space? Would it change your opinion about the cops need to shoot?

I will re-evaluate the scenario if you find that.

Not at all - why would she need to die for that?

I don't doubt it. The cars that were shot at in the Christopher Dorner fiasco were riddled with bullets. But three bullets striking the driver nearly directly side-on? That suggests a car that is moving slowly.

The story is off the rails now - the first officer called for back-up when he had confirmation the car was stolen. He was out of view of those in the vehicle while he waited for this. The first backup to arrive joined the officer out of view. They are the 2 that approached the vehicle on foot and fired. The other LE back-up pulled in behind and in front from both ends of the alley. My opinion from the articles.

If we find out she tried to squeeze out of that small space for a fact, then we know the reason she hit the LEO was because she was shot and lost control. The LEO was not in that small space, he was in the corner between fence and building.

Why did the teen witness say that the cop was pinned between the fence and the stolen car? The ONLY reason the cops thought she was heading towards the trapped cop was because the car was blocked from going straight down the alley. Why would the cop be in danger if she had a huge alley to exit through?

If she was fleeing and going straight down the MIDDLE of the road, then how did she end up with the nose of the car going straight into the side of the fence? No way she gets shot then turns the wheel 90 degrees to the left. :no:

I don't believe that any layperson can speak conclusively on how a person might react to being shot. That said, she might have been shot while turning the car around.

90 degrees is an extreme exaggeration. That would mean the car would be lengthwise across the road. More like 15-20 degrees

3 LEOs were there? I had not thought this before, but it explains passenger ref. to 'they came from back.'
Poss, yes. But then again, perhaps an imprecise use of 'they' instead of 'he.' IDK.

1= first officer?...............his vehicle was where, front or back of stolen car? Same as linked pix?
2 =1st back up?.............." ?
3 = other LE back-up?..... " ?

Not following sentence in red. Help, pls? Thx in adv.

The witness never said anything about her turning the car around. And why would she do that---unless there was a car blocking her path?
