CO - Jessica Hernandez, 17, killed by police after LEO struck by stolen car

The red straw is off according to the close up shot taken closer to time of shooting. It should not be pointing straight into the car. Shame on DA MRM. Trust the lawyer for JH family will jump on this and rightly so.

Oh Ok...the DA is lying and those holes in the front window don't really mean what they look like...OK

The "straws" in the windshield go through the bullet holes in the windshield to the places in the car where the bullets struck so they are at the right angle.

I know they are suppose to do that. The angle shown for the red straw shows a straight trajectory - the close up of the bullet hole shows it to be the same angle as the others - from the side of the car.

Would you know that to be true, in spite of what the ballistics experts and DA said? I don't think that we can look at a pic online and say the DA is wrong about the trajectory. JMO

The red straw can't be off. You can't move bullet holes and the other end matches up to the damage in the car. Now you're grasping at straws....maybe red ones

Bullet holes don't have angles...at least not ones that we can see from photos online. :gaah:

And all of this discussion we are having just goes to show why so many officers are wanting to leave the force nowadays. It is just too much for them to deal with. First they have a major life and death incident, and then, IF they survive it, they have to deal with some vicious scrutiny, often biased and unfair, imo.

They were sideways hovering bullets.

We're going to have to agree to disagree here as I believe it has no relevance.

I'm gonna regret this, but do you think I should get a ticket for driving 80 mph in a 55 mph if I say "well, I was following a suspected drunk driver" to try to stop them? There are different rules for LE for good reason.

I'm not allowed to enforce traffic laws. I am however allowed to use lethal force in defense of my life, and if Officers Jordan's life was threatened when he opened fire, mine would have been too had I been in the same location faced with an identically moving vehicle. Of course, in my hypothetical situation, I am challenging a person stealing my car, and I don't draw a gun until the car begins to move. Beyond that, the motion of the car and my relative positioning to it is identical to what occurred in the Hernandez case.

These officers should certainly leave the force. It is hair-raising to think that they will be back on the streets of Denver shortly.

But your hypothetical does not work. Unlike an officer, you could not stand and block the vehicle with your weapon raised and demand the driver get out of the vehicle. So if you were out in the dark alley at 3 am, standing in front of the stolen vehicle, that is your problem, according to the DA most likely. But the officer IS REQUIRED to do so. You would not be and it is not legal for you to go after a thief with your weapon.

It is more hair raising to think of what will befall Denver if the protesters get their way. Look at the surge in violence in Baltimore and Ferguson. The cops have their hands tied now and the gangs have free reign. THAT is truly hair raising, imo.

But in my hypothetical, my own car is being stolen in front of me. Surely I can stand in front of it without drawing my gun and order the thief to get out? And if the thief drives towards me, he is endangering my life, giving me justification to draw my gun and shoot.

Baltimore and Ferguson certainly have protests and riots, but I'm not aware of any having happened in Denver.

Scheduled for Tuesday per non-MSM Twitter.

There were some previously, but I have not heard of them recently.

Yes, you can, but that would be stupid. And that might be considered when a decision to go to trial is considered.

And I doubt that you would ever do that. Because you'd have no idea if the car thief was armed or not. So I highly doubt that you would go out to a dark alley at 3 am and stand in front of the car. It would be a bad choice to make.
