All those headlines are on the Internet on ABCNews.com.

But there was also the high-profile baby murder in that general spot. Was that coincidence?

Ohhh, I hope they don't release Mom's phone call. I can't see what what the benefit would be. I suppose it falls under FOIA though...it just doesn't seems right. The poor Mom.
BBMCould the varied victim preference/profile indicate the motive being necrophilia? Seems he was obviously a sadistic psychopath and a collector, imo.
A young serial killer in training, imo - KEMPER Edmund Emil III.

Old as in hours, maybe new depending on when you last caught up though.
I can feel loads of compassion for the child he was before when whatever caused him to go so horribly off the rails began. I feel no compassion for the murderous, disturbed young man he became. I hope he is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law and never ever sees the light of day.
:twocents:
At this juncture, anything over 30 minutes is "old", and I just got home after being gone for several hours. Wasn't reported when I last checked about 4pm or so PDT, and I still can't find a dang thing in media to support that claim. Missed the 1st few minutes of their 10pm news webcast.
I think immediately following the discovery someone you know committed a heinous act, your emotions and reactions to them are not your friend! After reality sinks in, things may change.

17 years old...wow!
a little o/t but not really....I live in a small town in Georgia in a neighborhood with many chidren (8-16) that actually play outside...ride bikes, kick ball, etc. There is a small group of girls that love to walk our dog every afternoon. It has become quite routine and our Peaches always know when they are at the door to get her. We have an old fashioned (real) gumball machine right inside the front door (the do not have to even walk in the door) and I give them each a few quarters and they get some gum. I have always casually mentioned to them about being careful of strangers and stranger danger. Also, when I am not home they are not abe to walk her. Mu husband thinks it is inappropriate if he is the only one home.....I say all of this to say....when the came by this afternoon I guess I am so emotionally on the edge because of Jessica, Autumn, Whitney...and on and on...I started talking to them basically begging them NEVER help anyone find their lost dog, never get within arms length of someone in a car, practice screaming and kicking ...etc...All of a sudden I realized I was crying so hard I could not talk and there were about 15 kids in my yard trying to figure out if I had lost my mind...One of the little girls (9) looked terrified which if it saves any of their lives I hope I terrified all of them. What amazed me the most were some of there comment..."I only go in houses if my parents know the people" and I would only ride in a car with someone my parents know and so on....I was practically screaming at them NO.....NEVER GO IN A HOUSE , NEVER GET IN A CAR...I scared myself. I guess if they listened to me, Peaches may never get another walk...
Respectfully shortened and bbm.
It makes sense if he has a paraphilia (and most will have more than one paraphilia). He might not have been "interested" in a live victim. He might also be delusional and obsessed with dismembering someone.
Just addressing that those girls said he was still in high school ... I don't really know. Maybe he was physically at school some times, but not enrolled.
Sounds like my two Jack Russell Terriers.
People talk about how violent video games or "torture" movies desensitize people, but what about the 24/7 media coverage on crime cases? On ABC News' website at this moment, I see headlines about Jessica, 3 people killed in shooting, an execution in Texas for a 1991 murder, the missing baby in PA, the woman who murdered Sylvia Likens, Skakel being denied parole, and the Fort Hood massacre.
Bullying is mean, hurtful, and unnecessary.
However, there is not ONE person on the face of this earth who will walk through life without someone saying something negative or something they perceive as negative about them.
It cannot become an excuse. We cannot control others actions.... we can only control our own actions and reactions.

Well, I said that regardless of when he actually killed her, his greater goal was what he did to her in death. I don't doubt that she died relatively soon after she was abducted. But what I'm also saying, in part, is I perceive gaps in his story about the chain of events. We don't know exactly what he's told LE because they may not want all that released, but if what we know is all he's told them so far, he left out key parts of the story. Where and how he dismembered this poor child is central to his alleged fascination.
Maybe he managed his abduction, restraint, and strangulation crime while stopped on the street, immediately after getting her in his vehicle. Maybe he spent more time with her than he's talking about.
But whatever the case, I suspect he is still playing games with the police because he savors his crime and the subsequent attention to it like the rest of us savor a glass of fine wine.
