Was the backpack left on a lawn? Left on the sidewalk? Up near a garage? Exactly how was it found in relation to the neighborhood and nearest homes? Was it in the street? Was it standing up or was it on its side? Did it look placed or tossed? Have any of these details been released yet?

There's a video posted last night from 9News in the first thread showing exactly where the backpack was sitting, using a diff backpack.

Looking at the distance between home and Chelsea Park, there was not a lot of time for her to be grabbed ... since they lived almost across the street from the park.

That's not her address. It's 10786 Moore Street.

Sorry that I didn't explain earlier. Another poster has pointed out that the reported address 10768 Moore St. does not exist and that there is a Ridgeway listed on county tax records for the address 10786 Moore St.

I feel certain Jessica would have had no opportunity to leave her bag there.

Hello All;

I am brand brand new, so thank you for having me!

I grew up near Superior, which (in my mind), is still a relatively new area. I had friends in Rock Creek, and at the time (1994), that was one of the nicer neighborhoods in the area. The neighborhood itself is definitely not off the beaten path, and is a well known neighborhood, but the road some speculated was used is a little less known than US 36. We also need to remember that it is only a few miles Northwest from Westminster, and the person in question had two days to get the backpack there.

I question the proximity of that Target store (as well as many other stores like TJ Maxx and further up HWY 36 is Flatirons Crossing Mall). Could he/she have purchased a new wardrobe for Jessica and then dumped the old clothes nearby? Just a thought and hoping it might be right because in that thought, she's still out there.

To me it makes most sense that this person drove McCaslin, pulled off the side of the road when he/she saw houses, cut through that open area between fences (if you zoom in on the google map you see a wide open grassy area), and dropped the backpack off on Alpha and Andrew. I don't know that the Alpha/Andrew means anything, but I bet this person has driven past this many times and knew right where to go (or perhaps they lived in the neighborhood at one time).

Praying for her safe return.

Do we know what time the group at the park decided to walk to school? How long did they wait for Jessica?

  • #309
Given the proximity of the park to her home, and that Jessica never made it to the park, is the mom a suspect?

Welcome ZhaZhaHa! :cheer:

I agree about the backpack placement. I bet the fbi behavior analysts are having a field day with it. I hope they have a geographical profiler helping local law enforcement as well.

I don't have much faith in profilers, personally. Each case seems to be different, and the reason the backpack was placed where it was could be as simple as it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Arvada is fairly close to Westminster. There are a ton of sex offenders in that area, sadly. I hope the LE are showing pics to see if the kids can identify them. It's too bad that the place of employment and any registered vehicles are not shown on SO registry. Could be valuable. For instance, in the Mickey Shunick case, the man charged with her murder (BSL) was listed on the registry, as was his "famous" white truck. That's not how he was found, but he was on several lists, to eventually be checked out as a POI. Might have eventually been caught that way.

There is no uniformity of street naming across the state. I know several neighborhoods in metro Denver off the top of my head that don't follow that naming convention. While many neighborhoods in metro Denver have open space and trails by design, someone yesterday said there's little variance in architectural design of houses in the state. That's untrue. Not a big point, but I don't want people believing misinformation about our state and our metro area.

dont recall mentioning anything about the architecture...however the street naming i did because my husband is a paramedic for the city/county of denver and had to learn all the streets etc. ways in and out of denver....no matter...just attempting to be helpful...jmo

Or SHE did, (want it to be found) which DOES bode well for her. It means she got an opportunity to leave a trail, if so. ??

I understand exactly what you're saying in tbat it could be Jessica, herself who left the backpack at this open location knowing itd be found and hopefully lead a trail of sorts to her..but I cannot come up witth a plausible way in which that could have happened unbeknownst to the abductor(jessica leaving the backpack in the middle of the sidewalk between 7pm-1am Saturday night).. How would she have had this type of opportunity in which to do this?..without him seeing, knowing, or noticing she was out of his sight?.. Imo if Jessica somehow saw an opportunity such as this that would allow her to leave her backpack in the middle of the sidewalk.. I full well believe that such an opportunit would be used to scream, knock, or bang on the doors of the multitude of homes surrounding the sidewalk where the bag was left..

If she was "caught" before having the opportunity to seek help..then imo so too would she have been caught leaving her backpack on the sidewalk..and the perp would have retrieved the backpack not allowing her to leave this clue for help..

Thats jmo that I personally cannot come up with a plausible manner in which jessica could have left this backpack there on the sidewalk..that doesnt mean that it didnt happen just my opinion that its highly unlikely.. I think unfortunately that the perp having placed the backpack there is more likely..but again thats nothing more than jmo tho..

I was referencing a post from yesterday by someone else. Wasn't doubting the intent, just thinking accurate data helps with sleuthing.

maybe someone else picked it up earlier and then realized it was not of any value and tossed it... moo

Left on the sidewalk.
Standing up as if "placed" not "thrown."
