Wait! Wisconsin? Huh? Why there?

@MassGuy the cat food in WI must be magical life-sustaining stuff.

Because I am a foreigner and suck at geography. That square sitting atop the Colorado square... I can assemble a map, but WY or WI to me looks almost the same! (Feeling ashamed, and I should, because I have been to WI, once, at least. WY is terra incognita).

Is the general consensus that he acted alone? (if your opinion is that is WAS 'he')

This is something that can absolutely be accomplished by one person... but... I dunno... IMO

I'm almost on a fence about a 2nd party. (no, NOT his mom - a peer or similar)

MOO
Yeah. I think he committed the murder alone.

His mother may have watched his child, but she didn’t have to know the reason why.

It is always possible, that a third party was involved in the coverup.

That wouldn’t be so bad, as a third party could be a weak link.

Worse were the high ranking people who, rather than stop it, told me it’s up to me to stop it by saying no. It’s a systemic issue unfortunately. But thank you. I just wonder if KB was in the same situation. It’s a very “good old boy” kind of environment, and if someone else took a liking to her...I just hope that theory is looked into. It’s partially why I’m not 100% sure that PF did this. The aggression I experienced was pretty intense, and saying “no” just made it more of a challenge.

We think of the texts as having to come from someone close to her. But someone who worked with her would know exactly who to text, too

But then why would PF need to lie to CB about her going off to visit granny?

<modsnip>

I think that IF PF committed a violent act in KB's home and tried to clean it up, then he will be caught and convicted. I don't think there's anybody smart enough to get away with that. Not even somebody smart enough to teach dogs to obey every command to Up and Down and Away.

Goodnight...

Let me ask everyone a question, if the intimate relationship between KB and PF is what it seems to be, if they were not really in one, is anyone able to consider that another person might be responsible for her disappearance? PF gets the child and goes on his way. KB had recently met someone and the two make plans for that evening. Maybe they agreed to have rolls at her place. When this person arrives, he says, let's go out and do something instead. Now the rolls are sitting on the counter, she ran out the door in a rush not expecting to go out that night. I would have to say, in the times we live in, it's possible for someone to meet someone online and not really know about them. I'm going to say this person was not someone KB knew that well but, he seemed nice enough. Is it possible she got involved with a crazy online dating person The plan for this person was always to do something harmful to whoever gave them the first opportunity. Maybe he wasn't from the area. I could imagine a scenario where KB had not been harmed but she was definitely taken against her will. This person decided to take her back to wherever he was from, which had them pass certain Idaho towns. She was forced to send the work text and then she managed to get her phone and turn it on just long enough for it ping off a tower somewhere. After that, who knows.
LE was given some info or they pieced something like this together and they are back at the condo trying to identify whoever it is. This at least explain why it seems they don't have video of anyone driving a certain vehicle near her home or in town. They wouldn't know what kind to look for. I think this is something that is pretty possible.

I keep coming back to the more times we have to start the story with no known factual backing to get to a theory, the less likely they are..Any number of these things are possible, and I could get on board with them a lot more if I could shake the fact that they shared a child together and he didn’t report an issue..were supposedly engaged and he didn’t report her missing..was the last person to see her apparently and we know this because she had the child now he does...LE had enough probable cause to search his property..among others. I’ll gladly eat crow if he’s not involved but I can’t see how it isn’t a lot more likely that he is than any other theories we have to stretch to get to.

I think OP had a mix up of geographical proportions and confused Iowa and Idaho.
(Iowa borders Wisconsin and both sides are pretty rural parts of those states)

I at least I hope that’s what happened cause as mentioned by others. Idaho via Wisconsin from Colorado is a very long detour (though it would explain why it took 3 days to get to Idaho to text)
JMO

Totally.

Especially puzzling since I spent a year in IA and at least on one occasion, visited the best bars of WI. :)

And oh, I drove myself from Boston to IA, once.

This being said, I have never seen either ID, or WY. I might also seriously confuse NC and SC.

Don't feel bad. I probably could not point out Scotland on a map of the UK. (Oops, that was another post.)

Wilson's disease: excess copper in the body, genetic disease.
My good friend died due to Wilson's disease.
Actually, now that you have reminded me, I know a family with whom I grew up whose father died of that and all but one of the 5 children of that family died relatively young, but one of the children did not inherit the gene.

Really? You could not point to Scotland on a map of the UK? I find that a bit a bit sad that someone was so disinterested in the geography of the world.

It's in the north, right? (Yes! I looked it up.) But I can find Australia on a map! Does it really all look like those Mad Max movies? (Kidding....)

(Now look, you made me make another post...)

Oh, and it's not disinterested, it's just that when you haven't been to Scotland or wherever, it is hard to have anything to relate it to. For instance, we "yanks" sort of expect everyone in the world (I think) to know where all of our states are. But I, for instance, couldn't name all of the Australian provinces. Okay, that was a bad example because you are so practical with the names---North, South, West, Queensland. That's probably smart.

I just text the doc I work with (MD - oncology):
"Is copper something typically found in urine or poo or blood or anywhere in the body? sorry. Following a true crime forum and need to know"

His reply:
"No not that I know of. Unless you pooped out pennies or similar"

So. There's one opinion from a licensed and practicing MD in CO.

Yeah? From what?

It is a trace mineral. Like zinc. It is very important for the living organisms.

8 Foods That Are High in Copper

The way I explain it to myself, the biggest step in evolution was the appearance of the cell membrane. And we still don't know how it happened, but the theory is, the first membranes emerged in hydrothermal places, in areas with different elements and natural potential gradient. So it is only natural to encounter the elements that existed in those areas - Na, K, Cl, Cu, Fe, Mn, CA, and many, many others - within and outside the living cell.

Might want to think about switching doctors...just kidding. But it is necessary for life.

Copper is an essential nutrient for the body. Together with iron, it enables the body to form red blood cells. It helps maintain healthy bones, blood vessels, nerves, and immune function, and it contributes to iron absorption. Sufficient copper in the diet may help prevent cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis, too.
