Pretty boy young-ish face? It’s funny how the same person can appear different to others. I said about 10 threads ago that in the family photo he looks MUCH older than her. Like mid-late 40’s. Maybe it’s his haircut, I’m not sure, but he looks old to me. I am slightly older than her and just can’t see what she saw in him. He isn’t, IMO, physically attractive at all. This was my thought prior to knowing he was involved or about any animal abuse, so my perception on his looks wasn’t swayed by my opinion of him (even the hottest guy would be instantly unattractive to me once I figured out he abused people or animals!).

He looks a little older IMO, but that looks like a home haircut to me.

I’m fine with this. Baby’s custody situation doesn’t need media all over it. This is going to be a highly emotional hearing for her family and quite frankly, I think it doesn’t need to be reported about. They have suffered enough. The last thing we want is media being all over it and then people showing up defending his family and why the baby should stay with them. I think the quieter the better.

I agree, great points.

My question was more to verifying that this was due to CPS/ and after the fact filed by her parents or somebody else, and not due to them both having a court case that was done prior to her disappearance. Which is what some folks have said, and I was hoping that somebody and the media that would clear that up.

I strongly agree with your post, if it is just CPS, it may be private.

That's a very good question. It seems that every scrap of an animal is today used for some purpose: meat, hide for leather, bones ground for various puposes. The only part I could think must be waste is the large intestine and perhaps blood; since madcow disease perhaps CNS/brain. But yes, I think a large incinerator would be necessary for some entrails that cannot be rendered into anything useful.

I have driven past a feedlot / slaughterhouse way out in the country many times. They have a small hotel, restaurant and landing strip. People actually fly in to eat the "freshest steaks anywhere!" I could never eat or stay there because even in winter cold, the smell of the air for miles is horrible. It is not just condensed urine + manure + mud, nor is it death or decomposition, or anything I could ever specify. I think you may have identified it, it is likely the smell of an industrial incinerator burning entrails and parts.

The death smell in Greeley, CO is why I turned down a full ride scholarship at UNC. I couldn't even breathe in that town. Call me crazy...I don't know how people live there.

And in that booking photo he looks like either he or his mom cut his hair with a pocket knife.

Literally lol’d. Reminds me of Dumb and Dumber.

  • #205
Interestingly, no other photo but the bookingv one shows L eye deviated sideways. I wonder if he is simply losing vision in this eye as there are no other symptoms consistent with a nerve palsy one might see.
He did get kicked in the head by a horse, if that story is true.

I would guess that he overnighted the phone to someone in Idaho. It is easy to send using the US postal service... They even have automated kiosks where someone could mail it without ever interacting with anyone.

True. The ones at our post office and USPS annex locations only take credit or debit cards (no cash) so if they checked his bank records that would have shown up and maybe allowed them to get info on the package itself from the Postal Service.

I thought I read here a few threads ago that the case number indicated that it was done the day he was arrested. Even if not, the fact that it didn’t show up in court records until that day is a good indicator that it was not filed prior to her disappearance. That would have been widely talked about prior to his arrest if that was the case.

No, it's not from fear. As you die, certain muscles contract and others will loosen, which causes the contents of your bowels to release. It's actually pretty common in dogs, as well...if you've ever had to have a dog put down, the vet will warn you ahead of time because it's not pretty.
Agreed. I have seen this with animals passing (excrement). As for the muscles.. my father had Parkinson's disease. His body was soo rigid from it. After he passed away & we were viewing his body for the first time my mom, my sister & myself burst into tears. The mortician asked if he had done something wrong. I told him "quite to the contrary". He looked like he did 15 yrs before the disease contorted his body.

Yeah, "comments" that are repeated until they live as facts.

SF owns the property and everything on it is under her control. She could have asked neighbors to take them, sold them, or made other arrangements for their care if the task is too physically demanding.

Do you have a link that animal control seized the animals? A case number? Were they a part of evidence seized on a search warrant? If animal control took seized several thousands of dollars of animals, they have to have cause, not internet rumors.

I find it hard to believe that they would have taken the animals. SF is still on the property and they have people they know that could help out if she could not do it all. Now that he has been charged with first degree murder those friends might have whittled down but there are always those that will stand by him too.

Yes, he is the youngest child. To take that further, often parents
are not as strict in disciplining the youngest and they usually get
away with 'murder', instead of punishment.
Do we know how old PF was when his parents divorced?
I wonder how much or how little benefit he had of having a
father around while he was growing up.
Staying w/ the mother hints to me maybe he was always a
momma's boy and daddy didn't pay much attention to him.
Can't help but wonder where his life started to go so wrong.
Did he do little things when he was young and never got caught and never punished or corrected? So he just escalated being
the bad boy. ????
I think and wonder about all those things too. This morning I was wondering about what draws two
Yes, I agree that was probably why he sent the texts. But why wait until the last minute to send them on Sunday? Why not send on Thanksgiving or the day after? Or at least the work one--more notice before taking a spontaneous week off from work seems to be more believable than taking a week the night before. Maybe the contents of the text will make it make sense. But I wonder if the delaying texts were sent 3 days later because something in his plan didn't go as planned and he had to improvise and buy more time.
Maybe it took him three days to devise the plan. Maybe it took him three days to get to that part of the country. Maybe he first disposed of her body in another state which hasn't even been mentioned and afterwards, drove there with her phone. My question, did he wait until all evidence (bar the phone) had been disposed of prior to making that call. Was it the final thing on his checklist?

Has anyone contacted media, to ask them if they are going to go to this? If indeed it was done by CPS, I would think it would be in the news. But I'm not seeing it in the news.

The media is now all saying that his next court appearance is on New Year's Eve. But this court appearance is before that. Are they not investigating it for a reason?

Child custody hearings by CPS are not usually open the the press from what I have observed in other cases. We may not even find out where Baby K ends up unless KB's family chooses to reveal that info in an interview. PF might not be appearing for that hearing either. He might be allowed to telecast from the jail, but I'm not sure how that works. @gitana1 would know. JMO.

There is still a hole in the information on PF being a cattle rancher. Where are all his cattle? Did he lease another ranch?
I still hold the belief he may have had a BLM lease. If so with this being the "off season" he may have shipped his cattle to cornstalks in Northeastern Colorado or Nebraska.

I have a feeling he was going back and forth the week after she went missing like everything was normal. Otherwise wouldn't his family have been suspicious? Suddenly he has full custody of the baby and there's no meeting up with Kelsey would have (or should have) caused questions. I wonder if her parents ever met his family?
Tacky but smart, so many people travel over Thanksgiving, make a longer vacation of it. No casual observer like a neighbor or shop clerk thought anything was amiss at all with KB absent.

  • #214
Maybe the solicitation came in when PF tried to get someone to get send those text messages and get rid of the phone. That would account for the delay in the messages being sent.

  • #215
I think so too. I wouldn't think he would make the effort or risk transporting her body that far. Much easier to dispose of it nearby and then transport the phone ( Or have someone else do it) to the other location. It makes sense that he would want authorities to think that she is somewhere in Idaho, while actually the body is nearby. He likely wanted it to look like she had been murdered while on the way to see relatives, and assumed that that's where they would look.
Could be wrong, but that's what I'm thinking. Imo
I agree. If it was his intention was to get rid of it in Idaho, I think the ping/texts would have been generated from another state. And if he wanted to throw LE off his trail, he did not have to drive that far. There was something that motivated him to go there. Maybe somebody.

One poster claimed SF had lost all her animals. In the video where the police come in to arrest him, there was a glimpse of an animal control truck.

I don't think he looks cold. I think he looks stoic, maybe resigned, or even relieved.

I think SF and PF had their mutually beneficial partnership established and they were comfortable - she helps him, he helps her. They have lived there quietly for 20 years since he was about 12. Enter KB, and then baby K. PF went quickly from 1 female to 3 females, each with different needs from him. I think he may have gotten to the 'my life isn't worth living like this' point, and the escape route became murder KB. In his mind, he may have seen KB as ruining his life, his previous tranquility and autonomy. He knew the consequences of getting caught would be prison, with men, and may have simply thought that it was better than his situation as it was. He is effectively now relieved of responsibilty for the needs of KB, SF and baby K, and his loss of his animals, rodeo, ranching lifestyle is costly to him, but prison is perhaps less confining, less stressful, and some sort of freedom.

I don't see PF as some sort of all-around bad guy. He has no criminal record, not even a DUI. He has no cases or sanctions from the farrier, rodeo, or cattle associations, or from animal control, or from the State.

I think he came to just hate KB and wanted to eliminate just her. I don't think he is like CW, a family annihilator. I never thought through this that baby K or SF or anyone else was in danger.

I am not defending his choice of action, and not victim-bashing. Like others, I am trying to understand how a seemingly average, quiet, non-criminal guy ends up committing this sort of crime.

If PF is convicted of murder he IS an all around bad guy. MOO. I'm not sure that there could be more evil than killing the mother of your own baby leaving her to a life without her mother's love and a life with him (sperm donor not father) behind bars or executed. MOO

Yes, and people that throw anger tantrums get increasing angry over time with a person. The first time it may be a raised voice calling you a bi*ch. Later you are getting your face through a wall. It takes increasing violence to get the same reaction of triumph over whoever you were trying to intimidate and defeat. If you find someone like this...bail out. It will never get better even if they apologize later and say they were just under stress and love you more than anything.
Especially if that person is intellectually superior, refuses to be defeated, then has the audacity to suggest, attempt to, or actually walk away from, the situation. You’ve never seen anger or pure hatred until you’ve seen that.

Do we know whether he had ever lived on his own? I know there was an ex girlfriend mentioned.

I find it strange that not one media organization has not reported on this fact and given an update. They keep saying that his next court appearance and anything about this case is on the 31st.

I don't find it too strange because they usually would not report on matters regarding minors taken by CPS when their parents are arrested, other than to say the child is safe and in protective care. IMO the state will keep as much info confidential as possible and safeguard the location of the child. The child custody issue is a separate case/separate issue from PF's murder charge. JMO.
